  1. I had to use it for an accidental double post today! Works great. Thanks!
  2. Are referenda on pipelines in PP’s policy platform?
  3. He could…. But he needs to set up a media bogeyman to raise money from his supporters.
  4. I agree. Tell @betsy…. She’s the one who’s angry as hell about it.
  5. The reporters gathered were told this prior to the statement. Did you not know that part of the story? The reporter did his job…. cajoled him into answering media questions, even if it was a very limited amount. Maybe with more cajoling, PP will answer a few more next time? https://www.nationalobserver.com/2022/09/15/opinion/who-calls-press-conference-then-tells-reporters-no-questions-poilievre Before the news conference started, reporters had been told there would be no questions, but Akin asked questions anyway, shouting them out from the floor, drowning out Poilievre’s statement. At first, Poilievre tried to brush it off as a joke, saying a “liberal heckler” must have shown up. Then he pushed back saying he’d never heard Akin interrupt the prime minister this way. Finally, Poilievre capitulated under pressure and agreed he’d allow two questions from the media. He then restarted his speech without further interruption.
  6. It seems you have a double standard? Instead of telling me to reread your two sentences, why not explain why serving under PP is ok, but not for Trudeau.
  7. Then the interruptions worked? PP was cajoled and guilted into actually taking a couple questions. If this is what the media has to do to actually have him take questions after his canned statements, then maybe this needs to happen more often.
  8. Do you think all biological imperatives are moral imperatives?
  9. The exact same reason that you will be content with serving under Poilievre, or that Daniel was content serving under a pagan king. Why wouldn’t the same reasoning apply?
  10. You do know that politicians should be called out and questioned on their opinions and views, right? Why would you have an issue with this? PP hyping Bitcoin has been very irresponsible. I hope no one actually took his advice, or thought he knew what he was talking about.
  11. So Christians should be perfectly content with Trudeau then too, right?
  12. Akin was a Conservative plant so they can raise money. At least, that’s what I’ve been hearing…. Who is to say what’s true though, right?
  13. If I was conspiracy minded, I’d say he was put up to it by Conservatives so they could say “see? See? Media bad! Send us money”! But they wouldn’t do that…. would they? Naw…. Or would they? Hey, I’m just asking questions. (I’m really starting to fit in on this forum! How’s my tinfoil hat look?)
  14. LOL You seem to be asking me about something that I never claimed.
  15. Why do you consider someone with different political views than yourself a traitor? I’m going to predict your answer may contain conspiracies and hyperbole….
  16. Soviet style? ?‍♂️
  17. I said I have no problem with him picking people to be inclusive. That’s politics. The point is that Conservatives light their hair on fire every time Trudeau picks anyone other than a white guy for a position. But now that Poilievre does the same thing…. crickets. ? ? ?
  18. Right…. The two mutually exclusive bogey-men coming to hold you down and give you a vaccine…. Or something. None of that sentence made sense. Try again.
  19. According to you, the problem is communism. But you don’t seem to even know what that is. Yes, you certainly do imagine a lot of things. How would a UBI be tied to woke causes? Be more specific.
  20. You want everyone to conform to your narrow view of how a person should behave so much so that 2 people shouldn’t be able to be themselves at their own wedding. If personal freedom is nihilism to you, then I’m a proud nihilist. We’re not going back as a society to cops busting men dancing with men at a bar and dragging them before the courts to be judged by freedom hating assholes. Those days are done, thank secularism.
  21. Did I ask about what Trudeau did? My post was about the Conservative supporter’s abrupt about face on issues like “merit” and “tokenism” when it is their leader that does it.
  22. I agree. Politics is not always about “merit”. It can be politically advantageous, and smart, to pick candidates with particular backgrounds that will appeal to voters you’re targeting. That’s reality. But this is something Conservative supporters have set their hair on fire over for many years. So maybe this is progress? It reminds me of the issue with Trudeau never having a “real job”, according to Conservatives. Now they all support a leader who has literally never had a job outside of being a politician, and they are fine with it. Hypocrisy, or progress?
  23. Were the lesbian woman and the fella with the turban the best candidates for the role of Deputy Leader? Or were they selected, at least in part, because the new leader wants to have a more inclusive shadow cabinet? If the latter, what do the Conservative supporters think about that? Is this “Liberal-lite”, or just full on progressive?
  24. Will it be for a limited time? Say 15 minutes after a publication perhaps? Just so people can delete mistakes. Or will we be able to delete any post from any timeframe?
