It will if he gets his way. Republic just means you don’t have a monarch. It has nothing to do with democracy.

You will just become another dictatorship with a constitution no one believes in or follows. But you will still be a constitutional republic.

Lots of so called constitutional republics have dictators. Both Cuba and North Korea are constitutional republics. You aren’t special. BTW both Russia and China fit the definition of constitutional republics.
