  1. False. TV host Jimmy Kimmel has been pulled off air indefinitely after comments he made about the shooting of Charlie Kirk, ABC has said. The decision came hours after Brendan Carr, chair of broadcast regulator, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), threatened to act against ABC and its parent company Disney over the remarks. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c203n52x1y9o.amp
  2. As I mention in my next oost th other is Nexstar I don’t know their political leaning but they have a corporate merger deal that is pending approval from Carr.
  3. They were both after. And back when Colbert was canceled Trump tweeted “Kimmel IS NEXT” Sinclair is a notorious right wing network. Nextstar amd Disney/ABC both have big merger deals in the works that require approval from Carr so they had to curry favour with the new dictator and his weaponized bureaucracy just as CBS had to throw Colbert under the bus to save their Paramount merger.
  4. Sinclair broadcast group has long been a notorious right wing cabal that forces the local tv news anchors to recite right wing drivel written by the corporate office. So no surprise here.
  5. Even Ted Cruz knows this is wrong: Dangerous as hell’: Cruz blasts FCC’s Jimmy Kimmel takedown The Texas Republican called Brendan Carr’s actions “right out of ‘Goodfellas.’” Cassandra Dumay09/19/2025, 1:05pm ET Sen. Ted Cruz on his podcast Friday admonished Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr for demanding ABC suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show over comments regarding Charlie Kirk — calling Carr’s actions “dangerous as hell” and “right out of ‘Goodfellas.’” “If the government gets in the business of saying, ‘We don’t like what you, the media, have said; we’re going to ban you from the airwaves if you don’t say what we like’ — that will end up bad for conservatives,” said the Texas Republican. …. https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/09/19/congress/cruz-calls-out-fcc-for-taking-down-jimmy-kimmel-00573159
  6. LMAO if a complete stranger posted it on twitter it, it must be true! #GullibleMAGA
  7. Look Im mot going down this batshit rabbit hole with. 5 years later and you’re trying to turn every single thread into Kovid Konspiracy Krap thread. You’ve clearly invested a lot of time over the years memorizing and cataloging a number of lunatic conspiracy talking points about a subject you’re not intellectually equipped to even understand Do you have some grand theory that Fauci was trying to exterminate the human race or was working with the lizard people or something? I don’t even want to know I could correct a number of your false claims for Fauci didn’t fund anything, NIH (not Fauci himself) funds a number US NGOs doing research and it was one of those NGO who was doing research in China. To draw a direct line from Fauci to to the Wuhan lab as if he was personally directing it is one of your many ridiculous overreaches And nowhere did anyone say they were trying to find a way to invent a new bat virus transmissible to humans. But we all know you’re a rabid internet nutjob and unlikely to change no matter what is said so there’s really no point in interacting with you.
  8. No lies and the only vileness is Trump’s fascist crackdown on his critics
  9. Trump floats pulling licenses if networks are 'against' him after Jimmy Kimmel suspended President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that the federal government might revoke the licenses of broadcast television networks that are "against" him. Trump's comment came a day after ABC suspended airing the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show because of comments its host made linking the alleged killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk to Trump's MAGA movement. … Federal Communications CommissionChairman Brendan Carr earlier on Wednesday had hinted that the broadcast license of ABC — which is a subsidiary of Disney — was at risk if it did not "take action on Kimmel." Speaking on Thursday to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said, "I have read someplace that the networks were 97% against me, again, 97% negative, and yet I won and easily, all seven swing states," referring to his 2024 election win. "They give me only bad publicity, press. I mean, they're getting a license," Trump said, according to audio from a press gaggle provided by the White House. "I would think maybe their license should be taken away," Trump said. The president said that the decision "will be up to Brendan Carr." Trump specifically referred to criticism he has gotten from Kimmel and CBS late-night talk-show host Stephen Colbert. "Look, that's something that should be talked about for licensing, too," Trump said. .. . Carr earlier Thursday told CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" that "we're not done yet" with changes in "the media ecosystem" that are consequences of Trump's election. "I think Brendan Carr is outstanding, he's a patriot," said Trump, who nominated Carr to his position. "He loves our country, and he's a tough guy. So we'll have to see." Broadcast television stations affiliated with networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox, must receive a license from the FCC to operate because their content is transmitted over the air, and is technically free for viewers as long as they have an antenna. That contrasts with cable TV networks, whose subscribers pay fees to distributors to watch. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/09/18/trump-jimmy-kimmel-tv-network-licenses.html
  10. You tagged me in your post so I would come, you’re obsessed with me Spare us your covid batshit. The research NIH funded wasn’t to make anything transmissible He also didn’t say “cultist””. That’s how YOU think I disagree that criticizing a massively unpopular and controversial president who continues to deliberately violate norms and test the limits of the law is “a mass hysteria event”. And given that Dr Drew is little more than a reality tv / internet diet shill who pops up in cheezy YouTube ads I don’t take him as an authority on anything. A mass hysteria event would more correctly be described as the Iraq WMD/alQaeda lies or the 2020 stolen election lies or the Kovid Konspiracy Krap your dropout brain is vulnerable to.
  11. As has already been explained to you, 90% of Canadian coal exports is METALLURGICAL coal used in steel-making , not thermal coal which is used for energy Besides even as we are weaning off and managing the realities of what’s left of the thermal coal lobby and their conservative shills, that’s a world away from Republican attempts to INCREASE coal. If you can’t tell the difference between someone trying to do as little as possible of something with a goal of eliminating it and someone trying to do as much as possible with a goal of increasing it, you’re dumber than I thought. And as has already been explained to you this thread isn’t primarily even about the environment ots about America shitty electrical grid being made even shittier by an incompetent president at a time when electricity demands will increase exponentially, especially due to data centres, AI/quantum computing, aluminum manufacturing and EVs. You’re on the titanic and Captain Trump is drunk and steering for the ice berg.
  12. You’re just confirming you have no idea what a cult is. You think it’s just a name for anyone who doesn’t believe what you believe.
  13. Back to one of the points of the original thesis of this thread, Trump is making things WORSE due to his ignorance and ideology. Consider the major renewable energy project he just canceled permits for: -Cheap electricity guaranteed to be HALF the average US price GONE -project that was 80% completed now scrapped -BILLIONS of private investment dollars already invested now lost -THOUSANDS of jobs lost Meanwhile in Canada :
  14. Sorry, Climate change is not just going to solve itself and the adjustments are not just going to be minor tweaks we can worry about when they happen. The adjustments will take decades and cost trillions of dollars and as with any change there are going to be winners and losers It also not correct to suggest we can continue to emit an unlimited GHGs indiscriminately and infinitely without further consequences Your comments sound like “the damage is already done so why bother” but that’s not a correct assessment Further emissions can cause even further warming Just about every feature of your modern standard of living is the result of government regulation and/or subsidies or both. Government builds the roads and the free market then drives on those roads. Governments builds airports and the air travel system and then the free market is able to offer you a commercial flight. Government estalishes housing standards and them the free market is able to build you a house. And so on. The big nation building government projects in the first half of the 20th century set the blueprint for the world you take for granted today and similarly will need to lead the shift to clean energy and to adapt to the damage we’ve already caused.
  15. Even conservative mainstream publications like wall street journal don’t stoop so low as to fabricate false evidence. Their bias is selective reporting, omission of relevant context and one-sided commentary analysis. This reminds me of the Rob Ford crack video. When it was first reported the right wing internet crackpots started with their ridiculous fantasies that the Toronto Star deliberately fabricated the story like they sat around and said “let’s make up a ridiculous lie to take this guy down”. Meanwhile in the real world shit like that doesn’t happen with mainstream media and Ford’s staff testified as soon as The Star reporting validated the Gawker allegations they knew it had to be true. Also all the stories The Star reported about Ford driving drunk were also proven true, contrary to conservative lies. And the reason Ford was under police surveillance also proved to valid, not a deep state conspiracy as the right had claimed. Did the right wing nuts ever issue a mea culpa over hoe wrong they were? Nope, they said how dare we continue to talk about a sick man who needs help give him some privacy and changed the subject. That’s how they roll.
  16. What do you expect from a guy who used to beat up and rape his own wife, Ivanna?
  17. Except conservatives are fired for personal opinions like “Islam an evil religion and Muslims should be rounded up” or “election workers should be executed”. Liberals are fired for saying “I think Trump is a bad president”.
  18. No, it establishes nothing of what you claimed at all, except that those companies hired people who used to work for those agencies. It doesn’t at all establish that Biden sent them there or that they were still working for for the government afterwards or that they “relayed what was and wasn’t allowed”. Your batshit doesn’t even make sense you don’t have tto infiltrate a company with intelligence officers to “relay what is and isn’t allowed”. Social media companies recruit people from intelligence backgrounds because the entire social media business model is basically a business of spying on people and their personal contacts and profiling them for the purpose of advertising and selling their data for even more advertising. No it didn’t, the supreme court ended up siding with Biden administration: Writing for the majority, Justice Amy Coney Barrett cited the lack of any “concrete link” between the restrictions that the plaintiffs complained of and the conduct of government officials – and in any event, she concluded, a court order blocking communication between government officials and social media companies likely would not have any effect on decision-making by those platforms, which can continue to enforce their policies….Barrett countered, because – even if government officials sometimes influenced content-moderation decisions – “the platforms moderated similar content long before any of the Government defendants engaged in the challenged conduct….Facebook was targeting [covid misinformation pages] before almost all of its communications with the White House and the CDC, which weakens the inference that [Facebook’s] subsequent restrictions are likely traceable to ‘government-coerced enforcement’ of Facebook’s policies the available evidence indicates that the platforms have enforced their policies against COVID-19 misinformation even as the Federal Government has wound down its own pandemic response measures.” https://www.scotusblog.com/2024/06/justices-side-with-biden-over-governments-influence-on-social-media-content-moderation/
  19. LMAO spare me Kovid Konspiracy Krap. You know Trump takes credit for the vaccine rollout and made a big public spectacle of getting vaccinated himself, right? Second of all, Kimmel wasn’t dancing on anyone’s grave he CORRECTLY pointed put how Trump was politicizing it and showed a clip of Trump responding to a question about Kirk by bragging about his new taxpayer funded ballroom he’s having added to the White House. So just stop with your lying. You don’t even know the meaning of the word “cultist” like all your insults you just use it as a generic insult for anyone you don’t like. Words and truth have no meaning to MAGAs like you, you just copy us when we correctly and ACCURATELY point out that Trump supporters behave like cult followers. Your whole “If you’re not in our cult that means you’re a cultist duuuh I’m a high school dropout in his mid 50s who still has the brain of a teenager and an income to match“ schtick is really tiresome.
  20. Fake news. This is one of the most pathetic tactics of the right. Republicans do something indefensible and then try to discredit the backlash with some ridiculous made up claim that basically amounts to “where was the outrage when Obama was pushing children into a wood-chipper and drinking smoothies made out of pureed aborted fetuses?” Another variation of this is to cite something that actually DID happen but exaggerate how bad it is “but Obama forced employers to offer workers health insurance that’s no different than Stalin’s atrocities” or “but her emails!” Also fake news. Disney put the show on hiatus and separately a nationwide of local tv stations dropped the show from its lineup because they weee both pressured by FCC. Kimmel’s comments were pretty harmless definitely far less than the vulgarity that Republicans spewed when Paul Pelosi was attacked.
  21. The Trump appointed regulator and thought censor demanded he be Kanceled: Kimmel's remarks also drew condemnation from Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr, who said it "appears to be an action by Jimmy Kimmel to play into the narrative that this was somehow a MAGA or Republican-motivated person.” Carr added: “What people don’t understand is that the broadcasters … have a license granted by us at the FCC, and that comes with it an obligation to operate in the public interest." Carr issued a stark warning to the network: "When we see stuff like this, look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.” Carr applauded Nexstar's decision to pull Kimmel's show, saying, "I want to thank Nexstar for doing the right thing. Local broadcasters have an obligation to serve the public interest. While this may be an unprecedented decision, it is important for broadcasters to push back on Disney programming that they determine falls short of community values." https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/amp/shows/top-stories/blog/rcna232036 Who are they going to take down next? They already used their leverage over CBS to Kancel Colbert. We told you Dictator On Day One was going to be a dictator every day he proves us right, ine step at a time. He even said “I’m the President I can do anyth I want” amd “some people say America needs a dictator” as he’s deploying troops and masked abduction squads to snatch people off US streets and disappear them to third world prisons, kancelling his critics and running the economy into the ground with insane and unpredictable royal decrees. Bit hey he “pwning” the libs and that’s all you need to get your rocks off
  22. Fascism is as fascism does. I told you Trump would use this as an excuse to go after anyone who hurts his feelings. Kimmels comments were about the Trump administration not Kirk and were totally within bounds At least you admit that it’s Konservative Kancel Kulture. But you conveniently forget Konservatives invented Kancel Kulture years ago. They Kanceled french fries, all because France wouldn’t endorse their Iraq lies and they Kanceled Bill Maher back them too. They definitely Kanceled Muslims. They Kanceled people for trying to go to the bathroom during the 7th inning stretch of a Yankees game (which is exactly what the stretch is for) after they decided to use the time to put on a patriotic show with mandatory viewing. More recently they’ve kanceled Bud Light, Nike, Gillette among others.
  23. As I clearly said it was NOT a full copy paste of the article just the relevant sections which contained multiple quotes which I took the added effort to bold for you because know all you MAGA posters are ADHD underachievers who don’t read anything longer than a few sentences. It would have been easier to just copy the entire thing, trust me. And as if you need more proof, Trump administration has pulled Jimmy Kiel off the air and canceled his show for verboten speech What did Kimmel say? He said “we hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” Not hate speech. Not denigrating Kirk. But its wrongthink in the Dictator On Day One’s new authoritarian order. So much for believing in free speech you fascists.
  24. Federally owned land will be made available to developers and municipalities for local housing, including both local subsidized housing programs and normal private housing developments. But BCH isn’t just about making land available its also about supporting financing for home construction through a number of mechanisms and streamlining approvals.
