https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.catholicnewsagency.com/amp/news/polish-archbishop-compares-lgbt-movement-to-communist-regime-29566 Only reason the church does not continue with their laws is because of the laws in most countries that forbid it. Pope Benedict XVI, then the leader of the roman catholic church stated that "protecting" humanity from homosexuality was just as important as saving the world from climate change and that all relationships beyond traditional heterosexual ones are a "destruction of God's work." The problem is the quotes from the bible that state: Put to death by whom? Leave it to God? I think that's why they took matters in their own hands.

When the Roman Empire came under Christian rule, all male homosexual activity was increasingly repressed, often on pain of death.[11] In 342 CE, the Christian emperors Constantius and Constans declared same-sex marriage to be illegal.[12] Shortly after, in the year 390 CE, emperors Valentinian II, Theodosius I and Arcadius declared homosexual sex to be illegal and those who were guilty of it were condemned to be publicly burned alive. You should watch Brokeback Mountain.

How do you know what media/sources to trust?
Cannucklehead replied to JamesHackerMP's topic in Media and Broadcasting
Funny how no one complained about any of this when Harper was pm for 9 years. In Canada, the Canada Elections Act includes provisions for free-time election broadcasts (in addition to paid advertising) during Canadian federal elections, on all licensed terrestrial television and radio networks; notably, however, none of Canada's main English-language private television networks (CTV, Global and City) actually operates under a network license anymore, meaning that in actual practice in the 2010s this provision applies only to CBC Television and the French-language networks in Quebec.[3] CBC Television formerly broadcast the regular weekly series The Nation's Business, in which Members of Parliament from all parties could give a short speech on a political issue, but this series no longer airs. Next thing you know they'll start complaining that Trudeau gets a free house too. -
One of Canada's last big oil producers leaves
Cannucklehead replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Currently, nearly all the oil produced in Western Canada goes to one market, the United States Midwest. However, there’s a limit to how much oil this market needs. For much of the last decade, Canada has been selling into the United States at a discount to the world price for similar oil products. The simple truth is that Canada’s oil will fetch a better price if we give ourselves the option of shipping more of it via Trans Mountain’s Pacific tidewater terminal in Burrard Inlet. Canada will earn more on every barrel of oil that’s piped west compared to those sold to our existing customers in the United States Midwest market, a differential that exists regardless of the price of oil. The Project will allow Canadian oil to be delivered to international markets and, as a result, Canada will earn approximately $3.7 billion more per year. Independent estimates conclude oil producer revenues will increase by $73.5 billion over 20 years of operations and Canada will earn $46.7 billion in additional taxes and royalties to federal and provincial governments. Sad indeed. Shakespeare level of tragedy. -
Like he says, ain't nothing but.

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.4545415 Much of the spending is baked into the plan long before any politicians even get elected. In general terms, about a quarter of any budget goes to transfers to individuals (those elderly benefits we started with, but also Employment Insurance and Children's Benefits). Another quarter of the pie goes to the provinces (including the Canada Social Transfer and the Canada Health Transfer). Crown corporations, public debt charges and national defence combine for another 18 per cent. yeah we dont need any of that stuff.

Would you brand a white Islamist a terrorist? Or how about this guy? Honestly I'd run like hell from that guy, but not because I might think he is a terrorist.

It goes on to say that his story does not coincide with the dates the medals he is wearing were given. The story has been picked up by cbc as well: https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5340040 So my first question is what type of punishment do you think is appropriate for false veterans? Should it be part of the criminal code or civil? Stolen Valour Canada, a group dedicated to exposing "posers and embellishers," advocates for the prosecution of offences under Section 419 of the Criminal Code. Section 419 states that the acts are considered a summary conviction, which can carry a maximum of 6 months in prison and/or a maximum $5,000 fine. Given the details from the story it seems he has no money and a jail sentence would just cost taxpayers more money. Does anyone else think community service might be more beneficial in cases of stolen valour? I'm not saying have him collect money for poppies(veterans day is coming btw, I hope everyone here gets at least one) but I was thinking something along the lines of trash pickup, or something nasty like that.

A bit off topic, but I thought it was ironic that the movement the u.s. was founded on was helped to get started by a terrorist organization. The Sons of Liberty was a clandestine group that formed in Boston and New York City in the 1770s. It had a political agenda of independence of Britain's American colonies. The groups engaged in several acts that could be considered terroristic and used the deeds for propaganda purposes.[23]
