  1. Very nice. Now, name biblical scholars who think that.
  2. Where's the word honor?
  3. For whom? Who according to whom? That'd be quite a coincidence but okay, maybe. Not all of them. That doesn't answer my comment at all. By what definition? The OT orders women to cover their hair or shave it off. Where does the NT remove this order? Why is the virgin Mary always depicted covering her head? Huh? Based on what do you assume? Justify what? Of what?
  4. I got the impression you go to church. Were you lying or are you a hypocrite?
  5. Where was I sarcastic? Tell me, I must correct myself. Sarcasm is not good. I thought you meant outside — indoors & outdoors. I cover outside whether there are men or women around (there could be exceptional situations if there is no chance of any man coming around at all). Not really. Yes. I know your so called true freedom. I have. Some do, some don't. The point is your assumption that Muslim women simply don't know better is false. There are those who do know all about it. And yet some of them remain or return to Islam and its rulings. It's called faith.
  6. Genesis 3:16 To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
  7. Why not? There are quite a few Muslim women who have as much 'freedom' as you do. Me neither. Women 200 years ago simply had such a different personality from yours.. That's why they dressed so differently.. Same thing really, right? You don't say I frequently do. As serious as what? How serious am I? A mere bathing suit isn't sufficient to assure me a good time at the beach. Why? Would that make me happier or increase my well-being? That can happen but I hope the compliments will be for the work I've done. Why do you say 'outside'? Because I'm a Muslim. Then don't ask. What other people choose to do has nothing to do with me. If I have family members, what they are or do does not define me. I suppose it does.
  8. It varies with hijab. Some put it on at the age of 10-12 some at 15, some in their 20s. Women don't need to go to a mosque except maybe on special days. Then they often have their own 'room' to pray in. I don't know if any woman minds the fact that they pray separately from their family members. More if a problem is if there technically speaking is no place for women in the mosque and that the gender segregation doesn't appear to have a basis in islam. Because it's what God has commanded.
  9. Tbh it's a long dull piece you quoted and I didn't read it all. I also have hardly any interest toward the topic of niqab. I don't think it a requirement myself and anyone who goes to great lengths in talking about it is usually talking about politics, not religion.
  10. Oh well if she's a Muslim! My being a Muslim has never given any credit to the validity of anything I have said in your eyes, has it?
  11. Before you quote her you say she says *this* about the decision to cover. The question is not what she knows, but do you know the difference and do you make a distinction between them when you talk about them.
  12. The part you quote mainly speaks about the veil which usually means the niqab.
  13. Propose a law all women in public office are only allowed to wear a skirt that is above knee length or shorter.
  14. Altai appears to be a Quran alone Muslim, therefore I doubt we have much of anything in common. What are Sharia law Muslim states to you, and how do you think I support them? And who defines non-Muslims as inferior and to whom?
  15. She appears to be mainly speaking about the niqab. You cannot talk about covering, the headscarf, hijab and niqab all interchangeably.
  16. I'm not sure what we're talking about anymore — I choose it for myself. And so do.... A lot of other women. What does being outside have to do with this? Always required to do it? Who are you talking about?
  17. That isn't secular, it's anti-religion. There's a difference.
  18. How about to be able to cover in public?
  19. That is so vague.
  20. If you're so 'supportive' of women why don't you think of their interests sometime? It's about men with you.
  21. If he's the person I think he is he says so himself. Did you look him up?
  22. You don't care to look him up before you showcase the story?
  23. Yeah. Probably the Israeli spy.
  24. Was that the Israeli spy?
