their public policy opinions are not based on any science they are based on giving their political bosses cover for their garbage policies and you just blindly trust them regardless based on the appeal to authority fallacious thinking just because governments and their cronies think it's a good idea doesn't mean it is

none of those measures make any sense whatsoever scoring PR points with the ignorant is the name of the game

British isn't a race or a place it's a system of government and a system of government that was far less exploitative than the alternatives it is no coincidence that former British colonies are better off than the former colonies of other Empires or places that were never colonized the British were the first to ban slavery and they forced others to ban it too the Africans and Indigenous enslaved each other all the time no one did more to free the slaves and curb the worldwide slave trade than Western Civilization the British were the light of civilization, though far from perfect, no one was better until America surpassed them the idea that the west was built on exploitation and if the world follows a non-western model that it would be less exploitative that is total horseshit, the opposite is the case

successful nations didn't become or remain successful through exploitation they out competed other nations by being less exploitative than they were and in this case you have a more exploitative nation condemning less exploitative nations for being exploitative typical Russian propaganda throwing stones from a glass house

A Proposal for Firearms Legislation in Canada
Yzermandius19 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
it shouldn't be repealed it being from the 18th century isn't a good reason to repeal the 1st amendment is from the 18th century I don't hear you calling to repeal it because it's from the 18th century newer ideas aren't always better ideas you pine for the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, so clearly age has nothing to do with your support of something if you want to repeal the second amendment, you're going to need a better reason -
A Proposal for Firearms Legislation in Canada
Yzermandius19 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
that couldn't pass you just say you think it could and offer no explanation no red state would ratify, no swing states would ratify it wouldn't even get a majority in the senate, let alone a super majority Democrats don't even want that what you think has no bearing on what Americans think why would anyone want to even restrict body armor in public? that makes no sense it will never be a constitutional amendment and it's a stupid idea -

there is no way 2/3rds of the states and 2/3rds of the Senate sign off on that you can strongly disagree all you want but you're not gonna get a bunch of red states and GOP senators on board with that and that's a requirement the Democrats don't even want to push that either, no one wants to do that except you it'll never get proposed, let alone get ratified total non-starter, you have no case, your disagreement is based on your feelings being projected on Americans, not reality -

not happening no amendment to prevent wearing body armor would pass that's not even an issue remotely on the radar for any side -
well to be fair they don't always lie even a broken clock is right twice a day Hitler drank water, that doesn't mean we shouldn't it's best to not engage in ad hominem and attack the message not the messenger still they often engage in an appeal to authority fallacy which is also fallacious thinking

exactly they don't know what justice is they use that term to refer to actual injustice and act like you're against justice if you don't accept their backwards definition as the real thing motte and bailey is the favorite logical fallacy of the woke -

certain people not being able to speak in private is an obvious violation of their free speech rights being politicians or lobbyists is not grounds to strip them of those rights I don't like politicians or lobbyists but I don't want take away their rights because of that I have principles -

so why do see how it's a bullshit rationale in that instance, yet are totally oblivious to it in other instances? selective blinders over 9000 -

traffic lights actually enhance safety, under the right circumstances anyway gun control doesn't, it's proponents just claim it does and you can't tell the difference because you just assume any time someone invokes public safety via more government control that they couldn't possibly be mistaken about that you are fooled by that ruse on many occasions you're a total sucker for it can you name even one instance where you don't buy into that argument when invoked? because I can't -

what the woke think racial and social justice is isn't racial and social justice, they in fact know less about that, then those they vilify you're just too stupid to notice they don't have the slightest clue what they are talking about and actively undermine the cause they claim to be fighting for they use buzzwords that appeal to your sensibilities and you are fooled into thinking they are fighting the good fight with no further investigating what they are actually saying
