  1. Clarity Act FTW. Confederation delenda est.
  2. No. The US is functional and greater than the sum of it's parts, Confederation is not. Collective strengths of Confederation are nothing compared to the collective weaknesses. Canada is not a democracy, it's a Constitutional Monarchy, if you want a republic or democracy instead, the only way to get that is to abandon Confederation. "We The People", is America, not Canada. Confederation being popular doesn't make it a good idea, argument ad populum.
  3. The richer parts are held down by the poorer parts, and the poorer parts are held down by the richer parts, everybody loses. Confederation is lesser than the sum of it's parts, it's holding everyone in the shotgun marriage back.
  4. Trump's victory didn't open the door for just any outsider, only politically skilled outsiders. It's wishful thinking that if Trump is successful, that lots more outsiders will be elected POTUS in the future, because outsiders that are as politically saavy as Donald Trump don't grow on trees. Simply being an outsider isn't going to get you elected. Trump is not going to drain the swamp, or put a dent in draining it, the Establishment ain't scared of him, they just preferred Hillary. This is not a new era of politics, it's just the loop repeating itself. Trump is just Nixonian backlash against the Obama admin, just as Nixon was Nixonian backlash against the Johnson admin. Ain't nothing new here, America is just back to the Nixon part of the Vietnam loop.
  5. Impeach away, it will just make Trump stronger, just like it made Clinton stronger. Trump won't be out of the White House until 2025, health permitting.
  6. Some opinions are more informed than others, not all opinions were created equal. /shrugs
  7. Lots of forests in BC too, just because there is demand for timber doesn't mean all the forests in BC will be gone soon. You look again carefully, you missed a lot forests, to fear monger about overpopulation, which is a myth.
  8. I see lots of rain forests left, especially in Brazil. Brazil and BC aren't overpopulated, and neither are countries with a lot of gold. Some parts of the globe are overpopulated, usually big cities, but in general, the earth could sustain a lot more humans than currently inhabit the planet, and it is not even close to overpopulated.
  9. Overpopulation is a myth peddled by environmentalist control freaks, and bad demographers from the 90's.
  10. I just said the way the NDP gets into power is a major backlash against Liberals or Conservatives, but then they create an even bigger backlash against themselves, due to screwing the pooch even more, change for the sake of change always backfiring on the voters when they go NDP. It's not narrow minded to point out the NDP in power are their own worst enemies, it's just pointing out the truth, apparently a truth you don't want to hear. Just look at BC, last time the NDP screwed the pooch, they were lucky to hold on as long as they did, and it lead to 16 years of the Liberals, that's backlash right there.
  11. NDP are notorious for blowing themselves up and creating a huge conservative backlash, see Rachel Notley and Bob Rae, leading to Jason Kenney and Mike Harris. The NDP only get into power when Liberals or Conservatives fuck up real bad, and then they do even worse and torpedo themselves for decades. You think it was bad under Clark, Provincial NDP going to hang themselves as always, you'll see.
  12. NDP going to blow up British Columbia like they blow up every other province they win an election in. Those who like the NDP are going to hate the backlash they leave in their wake as they hang themselves.
  13. The only Democrats who might be better than Trump have no chance of winning the Democrat nomination. So you're stuck with Trump due to lack of competition, brace yourselves now, and enough of the putting high hopes on pipe dreams. Wishful thinking is a helluva drug.
  14. Yeah, you're right, the Liberal Party of Canada and the New Democratic Party never win any seats.
  15. Communism is also much easier to achieve here, especially Eskimo Communism.
  16. Speak loudly and carry a big stick, Trump Knows.
  17. Because Canada doesn't have enough Trump Derangement Syndrome, import even more of it. lulz
  18. I base that upon Canadians not boycotting US products in large numbers, just because you and those in your bubble are doing so. If they were it would be a huge news story, yet it isn't, lots of Canadians still buying US products with Trump in office. The wishful thinking and profound ignorance is all on your side, you're projecting.
  19. Echo chamber effect, y'all are a vocal fringe minority with no actual power, your anecdotal evidence is not indicative of the wider trend.
  20. No one cares, your views are not the views of most Canadians, whether you give America any money or not is irrelevant, plenty of others will.
  21. Yeah, that was a bad move dude, you set her up to be Charlie Brown, and didn't tell her Trump was Lucy with the football, no wonder she's pissed, especially when she didn't like Trump in the first place. Should have braced her for the fact that he'd be very willing to negotiate on the number and settle for a lot less than $800.
  22. Perfect is the enemy of good, take your wins when you can get them, and move the ball forward incrementally. Waiting around for perfect is going to backfire more often than not, and then you get nothing.
  23. Didn't you tell her it was just an outrageous opening offer that he never had any intention of delivering on, and would be quite ready to settle for less than $800? I mean, that's what Trump does, getting your hopes up that this time he's telling the truth with his outrageous opening offer, that is like Charlie Brown thinking this time he's going to kick that football, and Lucy won't pull it away at the last second.
  24. He could have driven a harder bargain, but probably not in time for 2020, and he wanted that win on his resume, so he settled. All he needed was a new deal, that is better than the old deal, then he can pimp his "dealmaker" schtick extra hard.
  25. Chaos isn't a pit, Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again, the fall breaks them, and some are given the chance to climb, but they refuse, they cling to the realm, or the gods, or love, illusions. Only the ladder is real, The climb is all there is. Littlefinger Knows. Canadians are insecure, because they know their beloved Confederation cannot climb, and the fall will break them, while the Declaration of Independence climbs to the stars, so they lash out at America, cling to their Confederation and refuse to climb. Manifest Destiny is destiny, it climbs the ladder better than all, and a fall won't break it.
