  1. Cocky progressives think they can brainwash everyone and the further into the future they go, the more people they will have converted. The Progressive era culture war is propped up by the economy, when the bubble pops, that sh*t won't sell anymore, enjoy it while it last progressives, because the future won't be the "utopia" they perceive it to be, they won't remain ascendant forever, far from it.
  2. Keep The Americans Out, Keep The French In, and Keep The Indians Down. Confederation delenda est.
  3. Tax breaks lower taxes, that's right wing. Government subsidies raise taxes and increase government spending, that's left wing. It's obvious which is more free market capitalist than the other, lets be real.
  4. The left likes subsidies because that's more government involvement, the right doesn't like subsidies because that's more government involvement. Conservatives or Republicans pushing fossil fuel subsidies is not right wing, it's anti-free market, government picking winners and losers shit, and more subsidies equals higher taxes, which those on the right, not the biggest fans of.
  5. The solutions getting all the press, aren't the one's you and I agree on though, the solutions getting all the press are "taxing our way out" and many environmentalist lefties buy that bullshit hook, line and sinker. Carbon tax is a prime example. Reducing subsidies is a right wing solution, the left aren't the only one's trying to address the issue, but they sure like to pretend that they are. Just because the right does not support all the lefties crazy environmentalist government power grab schemes doesn't mean they are for doing nothing to help the environment.
  6. You could cut subsidies to fossil fuels too, don't have to just increase subsidies for green energy. The solution isn't always higher taxes, pro tip to lefties. Level the playing field, give the energy industry some tax breaks, and not just on wind and solar, don't pick winners and losers if it can be avoided, let the market sort it out, central planning for the fail. Subsidies should be a last resort, not the go to. If solar and wind ever get their shit together, a level playing field will allow them to rapidly expand without punishing other valuable economic activity.
  7. Carbon tax ain't got nothing on unleashing free market innovation. Growing their way out of the problem is a lot easier than taxing their way out of it. Get a better plan. If the left ever gets around to pushing Nuclear, then maybe it's a sign that they are getting a little more serious about addressing curbing C02, instead of pushing not ready for primetime energy, because it's "green" or "renewable".
  8. Could always level the playing field when it comes to energy subsidies, which will allow the market to innovate it's way to a better environment, and it could reduce government involvement in people's lives. But nope, the environmentalist left would rather just tax and spend, pick winners and losers, and seek to give the government ever expanding powers to make themselves feel like they are helping even when they aren't instead. They think the problem is so big that without massive government intervention not nearly enough is being done, without stopping to realize how ineffective massive government intervention is at addressing such problems. So they won't accept any answers that don't involve vastly increasing the influence of government in people's lives.
  9. Its been demonstrated that carbon taxes will not reduce the use of fossil fuels to reduce climate change to any meaningful degree, yet you want people to pay the taxes anyway. No plan is better than a counter-productive plan, and if I come up with a plan that doesn't give the government way more power, you'll just shit on the plan and demand the government be more involved as the only real solution. The environmentalist left's solutions are oriented to making lefties feel like they are helping the environment, even when they hurt the environment or aren't helping in any meaningful way and burdening the economy. It's not results based, it's feels based. I ain't getting out of the way of your shitty feels based plans, get a better results based plan, or f*ck off.
  10. Generally in life, it's the person who is demanding people pay higher taxes and follow more regulations who should be expected to demonstrate the proposed way is worth the cost. Yet the left play idiotic games like this instead, pretending the burden of proof should be on everyone else to prove their plan sucks or it's going ahead anyway despite the clear imposition on everyone who disagrees with them. Of course when people point out the idiotic parts of the plan, that doesn't stop the left from clinging to the dumbest ideas as the only real solution and if it wasn't for those meddling righties, the earth would be saved already. It's all delusion, and there is no snapping them out of it, they don't listen to reason, they just want to the government to have more power because they misguidedly believe it will save the world if given that power. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and the environmentalist left are prime examples of this phenomenon.
  11. Come up with a better plan, and stop complaining about people pointing out the obvious flaws of a shitty plan. If you want more tax dollars, prove they will be well spent, or take a hike. Virtue signaling that you are willing to try a counter-productive plan because you can't think of anything better, so give up your tax dollars, is not an argument that impresses anyone on the right. The burden of proof is on you to prove why you need the taxes and regulations, trying something just for the sake of making yourself feel in control of situation that is beyond your control ain't going to cut it, facts matter, your feels are irrelevant. Useless virtue signaling, as well as burdensome taxes and regulations aren't going to help the environment, and they never have.
  12. Poor forest management that caters to environmentalists is what causes forest fires. Take your climate change excuse and shove it. Yet again the solution being proposed to problems caused by bureaucratic mismanagement by the left, is more bureaucratic mismanagement.
  13. My characterization is entirely accurate. The proposed solutions will not fix the problem, and they will do great economic damage. You just want the left's proposed solutions to help, but you have no facts to back up that these proposed solutions are helping, period. It's all wishful thinking on your part, based on a misplaced faith in government intervention to make the Climate behave the way you want, by forcing people to behave the way you want. If you want people to take you seriously, try proposing solutions that will actually improve the environment.
  14. The proposed measures of most leftist will not save the planet, on the face of them, all they do, is give the government more power because it makes you feel better. If you think government intervention has the power to save the planet when it come to climate change, you are a fool who has WAY too much faith in government intervention in general, a typical leftist child viewing the government as your all powerful parent who can make any problem go away. Your childish worldview and your savior complex are driving you to want the government invade people's lives unnecessarily, because some idiots told you a doomsday was coming and the only solution was give the government more power over the lives of the people, and you fell for it because they appealed to authority. If you want to help the environment, more unnecessary government intervention is not the way to do it, that will just make things worse. "Doing something" is not a good idea if that "something" is counter-productive, giant government power grabs are clearly counter-productive, I don't care how noble the cause is that you claim to be "doing something" for, that doesn't change that reality. The left is great at identifying the problem, but then they embellish that problem, because they want the stakes to be higher so that more people will buy into their shitty proposed solutions out of panic. Time to step your game up lefties.
  15. See you want to control other people's lives, and so does the left, and y'all use the perfect rubric to justify any intervention into said people's lives, otherwise they are "killing" you. Dangerous totalitarian mindset based on imagined doomsday scenario to justify the power grab. 100% a problem with leftists. You aren't going to save the planet by forcing people to behave the way you want them to anyway, so basically it's all downside and no upside, live and let live my ass, it's the complete opposite. Just because you can point fingers at some right wing folks who want to control the lives of others doesn't make the left innocent, far from it. How about you lefties go find your own planet? Stop telling everyone on this one how they have to live. Your "Climate Doomsday! The Sky Is Falling! The Sky Is Falling" act is nothing but knee jerk control freaks paving the road to hell with their good intentions by empowering government intervention that will save no one.
  16. The CBC is the king of garbage ideas of misinformation, government involvement does not lead to a more informed populace at all, it just leads to a more brainwashed populace. The government should not be involved in the market at all, kill the CBC.
  17. The Rebel is not state run media, the CBC is, apples and oranges. There is zero reason to prop up state run propaganda with taxpayer money, The Rebel is not propped up with taxpayer money, the CBC is, their bias is much more relevant as a result. Other countries having a government broadcaster is not a good reason for Canada to have one. State run propaganda is not something to be celebrated, it is something to be mocked and ridiculed. All the other government broadcasters are proof positive that you can't have one without extreme bias, not a single example of good journalism in the bunch.
  18. The CBC is supremely biased, whether you or they can see it, or not. They like to front like they are unbiased, but that is obvious bullsh*t. Just kill the CBC, sell it off it's assets, and suffer the short term backlash, the long term gains will be more than worth it. Government owned media is asinine on the face of it, pure propaganda is all it is.
  19. Nope just kill the CBC, take the hit, f*ck popularity, slaughter that lefty sacred cow. The conservatives being liberal lite does not help them, if they want to win more elections in the future, killing the CBC would certainly help. Why they would support a propaganda outfit who blatantly supports their opposition, instead of killing it, makes no sense. Just shows Scheer is a lightweight with no balls.
  20. This sock puppet is truly repetitive and tedious. Just creates new accounts and starts threads asking why someone hasn't stopped America or destroyed it yet, it's literally the only topic they want to discuss. Basically they are trying to create the false impression that almost everyone wants to see America destroyed and stopped and they could easily do so if they just tried, so they can act incredulous when presented with reality that this simply isn't true. It was funny for a little while, but the joke has gotten old real fast.
  21. Quebec is not your enemy, Confederation is. Without Confederation, all your complaints about Quebec vanish. Vive le Quebec libre!
  22. Indeed once a fiscal crisis happens, Quebec will be expecting a bailout, and when Canada can't afford to do that, Quebec will bounce.
  23. It is how Quebexit will win eventually, Vive le Quebec libre! Feed the liberals rope, sit back as they isolate themselves in their media bubble, and let the Pequistes do the rest.
  24. Khabib sign a new contract with a GSP clause in it, fighting Poirer on September 7th in Abu Dhabi. Ferguson fighting Cerrone this weekend.
