  1. Why are the NDP a separate party from the Liberals when there’s no discernible difference between the two?
  2. It’s very much the profile of the naïve activist. I think the problem today is that such people have been given the airtime and authority to shout off and cancel good and intelligent people. People are scared of saying “back off” to these “activists.” Many climbers in academia and political circles are using the same shrill mindless rhetoric as the “activists” and encouraging them. To some degree we all have to give them a “safe space” to make their points in order to protect free speech. Unfortunately often the content of that speech is weak.
  3. The fact that Antifa Americana didn’t know that Marxism is atheist and that that Marx lived and wrote prior to the Frankfurt School indicates a very superficial understanding of history and political movements. I don’t even judge her for this. Her repetitive sloganeering sounds more shrill and mindless every time read it, which is why at this point I don’t argue with her because she doesn’t have enough understanding of the subjects debated to demonstrate a common understanding of what she’s trying to discuss. It’s like arguing with a very partially educated 17 year old. My only recommendation to her is to read much more and become more informed before attaching herself to an organization with a track record that’s dubious at best.
  4. Well public authority is delegated to Parliament. The Supreme Court also plays a role in interpreting constitutionality. The rights in the Constitution are written by constitutional lawyers with the advice of government. You’re correct that to some extent the US is stuck (or blessed depending on your opinion) with the 2nd Amendment. The majority of the public may want more gun control but the system probably doesn’t have the public support and ease of process to remove that right. Capital punishment can probably be reinstated fairly easily if it could get enough support from Parliament. I don’t see that happening because generally the public accepts gun control in the cities and Canada is getting more urban.
  5. All legislation is a reflection of public morality. Law and policy are not amoral.
  6. The state shouldn’t be dictating in those areas, but the state shouldn’t be overriding the medical discretion of parents for medical decisions for their children. Gender affirmation of children by the state and schools is fraught because children often don’t make decisions in their own best interests. State intervention is too high in Canada and getting worse. One of the problems with publicly funded healthcare is that the state makes decisions about what surgeries to fund, including for kids. State funding of a procedure is a form of incentive for getting the procedure. An adult choosing to pay for a sex change is one thing. When the state funds such procedures for children and has a policy of “gender affirmation”, the state faces liability for potential child mutilation and abuse. Those kids grow up and can sue for damages. The state proxies could also be held criminally responsible.
  7. Not liking the results of someone’s legitimate research is now grounds for dismissal it seems. If someone doesn’t like the way reality makes them feel, that’s a reason to dismiss someone in today’s Kafkaesque work environment. It’s unethical and unlawful of course.
  8. Well I never made that comparison between Hitler and Trudeau. Musk and Maher did. Tiananmen was harsher than the EA in terms of enforcement, though the Chinese didn’t freeze bank accounts. Do I think Trudeau acted in a totalitarian fashion? Pretty much. I also think if he thought the EA would be supported by the Senate, he would’ve kept it longer.
  9. You’re inserting your own Nazi narratives. Eliminating local small-scale economies, the family being the most elemental, is a Marxist aim because the state authority is the only authority. If you don’t understand that, I can’t help you. Marxism actually makes a religion of itself by claiming authority over and the ability to control nature, including human nature. What you naturally think, what you learn from nature and science (its description) is of less importance than what the state decides you should believe and want in order to achieve the Revolution. Do you know anything about the Cultural Revolution in China? It’s very arguable that the culture wars in the West have similarities to that revolution. Bill Maher cleverly illustrated this. If you continue to bury your head and call anyone who describes these social conditions as a Nazi, then you are the true totalitarian. You’re a leftist totalitarian no different from a Castro.
  10. What planet are you on? You’re so blind to your own ignorance, so unaware of what Nazism means, and so committed to calling everyone who disagrees with you, including moderate people, Nazis, that you’re actually a very reckless person. Your deluded perspective explains exactly why cancel culture is rampant and ideologues are playing havoc with liberal-democratic rights, including freedom of expression. You’re willing to write off millions of people. You’re scary because you embody the combination of ignorance and fervour. There’s much more to learn about and see in the world than Nazism or fascism. Stop tilting at windmills and learn.
  11. You don’t have to make reference to Nazism to understand the cultural trend of state takeover of the means of production and the redistribution of wealth. 1950’s Labour Party Britain wasn’t far off. When wealth is almost taxed out of existence and everyone starts living in Soviet style housing, you’re beginning to experience socialist dystopia. But it’s great, right? Everyone has a job. The education and healthcare are free. The food is basic. That’s the kind of 1984 existence that is the Marxist fantasy. Everyone can wear Mao grey-blue uniforms. Men and women look the same. No variety of product because demand is artificially defined by the state. Drive up people’s debt and the cost of housing, bury the population in taxes to pay for centrally planned social goals like fighting climate change, arms for endless war, and keeping public health at safe levels defined by the state. Destabilize family by transgressing people’s ethics and religious beliefs through state-sanctioned morality and compelled speech. Use Chinese-style surveillance and tech to socially engineer and enforce conformity. This is the trend of Cultural Marxism. Do you think Trudeau is bringing us closer to or further from this existence?
  12. I don’t care that you doubt what I know I’ve done. Go to school.
  13. TC is more progressive in the best sense of that word than many commentators in the mainstream media. He calls out injustice and manipulation on the right and left. Yes he’s conservative, but let’s be honest, most MSM is liberal-biased.
  14. “They”? That’s also problematic. How accountable are the “they”?
  15. Don’t equate a refusal to take responsibility with being a science-minded person. They’re not identical. The dangers of A.I. are real and will get worse if we don’t limit its power and control. As for you accusations of tribalism. If you claim to be scientific then you’ll acknowledge the basic human psychology of humans being more comfortable with what they can identify and what they see to be comfortable and safe. To pretend otherwise is to deny reality, but sure, there’s plenty of that happening. Not anything goes.
  16. You can’t define the terms you use. I have an assignment for you: Research the rise of Nazism including the steps that led to the Kristal Nacht, banning of political opposition parties, and Final Solution. Basically first understand what that horrific political party promoted and did. Research Marxism by reading the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital. Read about the rise of Lenin and the Russian Revolution. Learn about the Frankfurt School and hermeneutics. Learn about Mussolini, fascism, and Futurism. Read Derrida and Foucault until you get the gist. Read about Nihilism Read the Brothers Karamazov Afterwards try to see where your recent outlook on transgenderism and Antifa stands in relation to these various forces. Read dystopian novels like Brave New World and 1984 You might be surprised at how statist, fascistic, nihilistic, and Marxist your views are. You might see a relationship between your judgments about people and totalitarian identity groups and forms of discrimination. I think that’s a good 6 months of work if you get to business. Talk to me after that.
  17. You don’t understand what cultural currents or movements are. Your views are quite Marxist but my guess is that so are the views of your friend group. It’s your ethos. It’s uninformed partial truth activism. It’s very much in campus culture and in most mainstream media. You just don’t know what’s Marxist about it because you don’t really know much about Marxism or materialist frameworks of analysis. I’ve actually studied them and used the lens of such perspectives to analyze events. That’s what education does. You want to find some guy with a crystal ball behind the scenes. It doesn’t work that way, though there certainly are powerful groups, movements, market forces, etc. Knowledge is power so if you want to impress, learn more.
  18. The sad thing is that many posters seem like bots because of the seemingly mindless lack of critical thinking. It’s shocking actually. The zombie apocalypse is a quiet revolution. It’s very clear how totalitarianism was able to establish itself in so many countries. Unquestioning compliance and cowardice are the rule, not the exception, it seems. Cognitive dissonance is another major driver in zombie land. People simply can’t believe that life isn’t actually what they saw on TV or in the Toronto Star. It’s easier to buy in than to question. People won’t notice A.I. take over until their access to weed gets cut off. Then it’s fisticuffs.
  19. I’m going to give you one last break because I genuinely don’t want to watch you continue to embarrass yourself. Learn about the authors and the writings behind the movements and events you carelessly and incorrectly cite. It will give you more credibility and influence. You’re an exemplar of the expression, “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.” You speak with fervour but lack some very basic knowledge and understanding of the ideas you mention. Read, read, read.
  20. Are you for real? How old are you? I’m thinking the other posters on here are correct in their assessments of a very immature mind.
  21. Opposed to feminism? You first need to define what you mean by feminism before you can claim whether or not I agree with it. I support aspects of feminism but I don’t believe in empowering one gender over the other. Each generally has different more dominant traits and both genders are important. One isn’t better.
  22. Do you understand what movements and trends are? There’s no Oz wizard “running” the media. Funny.
  23. Oh really, you don’t even know the timeline for these writers. Marx came well before the Frankfurt School. Unfortunately I can’t give you more time because you simply have too much to learn. It’s okay. Keep reading.
  24. What an uninformed stretch. Also, I don’t think Marxists are promoting atheism, silly. Marxists are atheists. Have you read any Marx? Yeesh. “Religion is the opiate of the masses.” Marx
  25. You think that these descriptions are Nazi, but the ideas are self-proclaimed by the leaders within the movements themselves. That’s where you miss the boat. The Redstockings said about their beliefs what I just summarized. You seem to want to pretend that reality is something other than what it is, which explains your anti-scientific beliefs in transgenderism. I see a pretty complete picture actually. You don’t like facts like biology because they disagree with the revolutionary world you want to inhabit. You’re definitely a phenomenon of the times.
