And men are already on the losing end as women are dominating university enrolments and home ownership. Affirmative Action is now destroying young men much as liberal identity politicians have destroyed the “deplorable” workers, leading inevitably to the rise of Trump. The libs are no longer progressive. They’re the establishment elites protecting their privilege and hiding behind flowery feel good progressive language.

You’re such a victim of MSM talking points. The cost of living was lower and America was more energy independent under Trump. Those are facts. Trump also launched Operation Warp Speed leading to the fastest and widest availability of free vaccines of almost any country. Canada was a laggard purchaser of the failed Chinese Sinovax. We then had to overspend to play catch-up. That’s the fact, Jack.

Leave your po-mo linguistic dance at the door. Reality — biological reality — supersedes cultural ideology, no matter how much you amp up the wishful thinking with drugs, surgery, philosophy of feminism courses, and various biotech. Some differences are fundamental between the biological sexes. Yes there are outliers, but that’s what they are, such as trans people. That’s fine. Live and let live, but don’t pretend that gender is purely a social construct, that all women can be Amazonian engineers or that all men can give birth and be happy as house husbands.

Quebec legislature moves to ban prayer in schools
Zeitgeist replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Quebec vacillates between fascism and communism. It’s the most highly taxed jurisdiction in North America, yet its roads are in terrible condition and the province is full of young misinformed activists on welfare. The smart money left Quebec 40 years ago. Quebec trounces on religious rights and has undermined its own cultural roots in the process. Now they desperately fall back on fascist moves like banning headscarves in the public sector. Oh well, at least they have pretty old buildings, Hydro Quebec, and a few big companies that rely heavily on Canadian favouritism. -
Republicans are the party of equal opportunity for all without regard to race, etc. Democrats are the party of racism and paternalistic, “We know how you should live and what you deserve.” As for your assessment of parents as generally being abusive towards their own children, I would say that’s exactly the leftist perspective, that the state should be raising kids because parents can’t be trusted to raise their own children. This is actually the overriding leftist theme: People can’t be trusted with the freedom to make their own decisions. The state knows better. If a parent abuses a child, that of course requires outside interference, but these situations are dealt with and reported on individually. Of course the left won’t see how bringing kids to drag queen reading hour might be inappropriate or how affirming sex change surgery for children might be abusive. Clearly biological reality doesn’t matter to some of these people. People elect governments and pay politicians to look out for their interests. Government is accountable to the people in a democracy. As for economic opportunity? People figured out pretty fast that the opportunity is in Republican states and are leaving the blue states in the thousands. Instead of letting the state take more of workers’ money and using it to make people live according to dubious values, people are wisely choosing to keep more of their own money and to keep the creepy and depraved radical left-wing politicians as far away as possible. ?

Teaching kids that no one is allowed to touch them, especially their sex organs, isn’t the same thing as discussing forms of sexuality with primary students. As for everything else you said, are you kidding me? You really don’t seem to get that the current dominant liberals have nothing to do with supporting workers or opposing war. They’re elitists who use progressive language as a smokescreen for the fact that they think blue collar people are gross and they like imposing their views on everyone everywhere overseas. They’re a threat to family values, subsidiarity, and democracy. They’re also a disaster for the economy, adding taxes and raising the cost of living through inflationary spending.

Intelligent hard working people are fleeing the ditzy Democrat states. Honestly, why would any sane person want to be around war-mongering tax and spend leftists who put pronouns under their names, teach young children about sex, and believe that referring to biological women as women and biological men as men is offensive? I wouldn’t want my family anywhere near these corrupt confused people. I want to be somewhere that rewards merit, instills family values, and keeps both taxes reasonable and the cost of living low. The champagne socialists want an overreaching government to ram their bizarre amoral agenda down everyone’s throats.

Then the Roman Empire declined in the 5th century, because it couldn’t finance and sustain itself administratively and militarily, the start of the Dark Ages. You seem completely unaware of the trend that’s well underway: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/texas-florida-see-biggest-population-gains-as-over-600000-flee-new-york-california-185038289.html https://nypost.com/2023/01/03/u-haul-people-leaving-ny-california-for-texas-florida/amp/ https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-01-31/states-with-low-taxes-americans-leave-new-york-moving-to-florida-texas#xj4y7vzkg

More Liberal lies about the carbon taxes...
Zeitgeist replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Liberals just want as much of your money as possible so that they can decide what everyone deserves because they think they know better than the taxpayers who pay their wages. Shrink government, scrap carbon taxes, and expand our rights so that these immoral communists can’t complete the handover of Canadian sovereignty to China. -
More Liberal lies about the carbon taxes...
Zeitgeist replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The preferred groups get the bigger cheques. Government declares fuel, a necessity for rural folk and many city dwellers, to be made obsolete using high taxation without providing a viable alternative, as electric vehicles are expensive (not to mention environmentally concerning) and the transit/train network is grossly inefficient. Not to worry though, they’ll use our money to heavily subsidize solar and wind systems that produce little power and require oil and gas-fueled power when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing. These are unscientific ideologues who create communist policies that they draw on the backs of napkins during flights on their private jets. Totally phoney hypocrites. Rules for thee but not for me. -

The carbon tax is just a communist redistribution program of theft that does nothing for the environment. -
The Republicans are more the party of equal opportunity and maximum opportunity for all. The Democrats buy votes from select groups by offering to take care of them like babies by giving them handouts. It leads to cycles of dependence on the state and erodes individual freedom, autonomy, and opportunity. It makes people weaker. That’s not to say that there isn’t value in a social safety net, but it always runs the risk of incentivizing poverty and dependency.

High schools aren’t being prevented from storing information about Marxism; they’re being prevented from teaching kids to be Marxists. Those are two very different things. That’s what the ban on CRT is about, preventing Derek Bell’s ideas that particular races are by definition oppressive from being treated as facts in the public education of children. It’s there in a lot of EDI training and it’s there in recent curriculum. Some theorists and educators discuss this pseudoscience as though it’s factual. Read John McWhorter’s Woke Racism. He’s a brilliant black linguist out of Columbia University.

What are you talking about? We’ve seen Dr. Seuss, Roald Dahl, Harper Lee, J.K. Rowling and other great authors canceled over ridiculous language policing and trigger words taken out of context. The conservatives are just keeping sexually out of primary education and keeping Marxist and racist identity politics out of public schools. Good. Keep the radicals out of public schools.

You don’t even know American history. You do understand that the Republican Party was the Northern party that freed the slaves? You do understand that the Democrats were the Southern pro-KKK party that treated Black people as “the poor” who the Democrats would take care of and that this grew up under FDR? The Democrats now pretend to be the party of equality, but actually they’re the party of equity, which requires having designated weak/victim groups that need help. It’s paternalistic. Only the Republicans are closer to the idea that all are created equal, everyone should be treated equally under the law, and justice should be blind. The Democrats did some good work during the Civil Rights movement. JFK was good. I liked Bill Clinton well enough. Fine if you want to be a Democrat, but don’t call Republicans fascists or Nazis, or if you do, say as much of Democrats.

Religious people and scientists can come together on respecting nature. I also think that heavy central planning has proven to be a failure. Social justice warriors used to talk about subsidiarity and keeping decisions local, which I support. It’s somewhat libertarian actually. Instead we have big interventionist government, global central planning, and stakeholder capitalism, which is a quasi-fascist marriage between corporations and government. Trudeau is basically a puppet of the UN and ESG strategists at the WEF. When you don’t value the hard work of past generations and the traditional cultures of a people, you get the Liberal Party of Canada’s Post-National State and an ethos reminiscent of Mao’s Cultural Revolution.
