He stands for incompetence and white privilege. Didn't have to be qualified, didn't have to be intelligent, didn't have to do anything except be white, pale male and politically incorrect. That is it. The fact that his detractor cannot see that boggles my mind. No, his parents living long is a negative for those who don't want him in office.

Democrats Are In Disarray...Not GOP
H10 replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No, its not the whole story. The whole story was Obama was insanely popular as a candidate, he allowed alot of democrats to get elected in states, houses, congress, and local government who had ZERO chance of getting elected otherwise. This guy had 60 senate votes at one point and a house majority. Democrats have come off of an unusual high with Obama and then reality came back. It also didn't help that Republicans have been engaging in tactics to prevent Democrats from getting their voters out and purging the voters list and attack poor and minority voters and voting rights. Once you erode the ability of people to vote, you are eroding democratic voters. Democrats were not thinking about Republicans stealing elections. That doesn't mean Republicans don't have an issue, they do, the nation's demographics are firmly against them. They have lost every elections popular vote except one since 1992. The last 6 of 7 elections Democrats have won the popular vote. Trump was a very unpopular president, and still is, although enjoys large popularity from Republicans. Trump's voters aren't going to be around in a decade mostly. Obama was unique, he was a Northern Democrat who was elected twice. He is the ONLY Northern Democrat in the last 117 years elected twice. The closest to him is FDR (elected 3 times); and Woodrow Wilson (elected twice but born in the South although he went on to become a Northern Governor). The democrats are undergoing a battle similar to the GOP did back in 2010-2008. It is a battle for the core of the party. On the one side, you have the Nancy Pelosi, Hilary Clinton, Gillenbrand, Perez corporate democrats (who are the so called blue dog democrats which look alot like their conservative moderate republican counter parts). Hilary Clinton and Pelosi represent these types of sellout democrats the best. On the otherside, you have the democratic base and majority of voters in the nation, the progressive wing. The Bernie Sanders, Obama, Elizabeth Warren etc. The problem the dems have, is the corporate wing is better financed like Clinton, but the progressive wing is the only one with any chance of winning an election. Which is why Clinton had to rig the election and rob bernie. O well, that is the price the dnc pays for running an unwinnable candidate. Conservatives don't swing and vote for democcrats anymore, it is not 1992 when people use to do that. -

Also Trump is a 70 year old guy, with the most stressful job in the world, who is grossly overweight, on statins, sleeps 4 hours a night, has an anger issue, I don't see this guy making it to 78. On the negative side though, Trump's dad lived to 95 and his mother to 88.

Impeachment would require the Republican house to impeach trump followed by a Republican Senate. I don't even think alot of clever democrats would impeach trump (like joe manchin) knowing that there are elections in republican states for democratic senators in 2018 and the fact that it feeds into a narrative of Trump being treated unfairly, and doesn't even prevent Trump from running again and theoretically winning again the nomination in 2020 and the election. I also strongly suspect that the free coverage worth $3 billion dollars gave Trump an advantage in the election, he just had to make one comment and it was covered on the news for a week! Sanders had rallies of 30,000 people being ignored. Also acting like an authoritarian didn't seem to get bush or reagan impeached. Reagan illegally sold weapons to Iran violating a congressional law passed which is CRIMINAL, took the proceeds of that illegal weapons sale and used it to fund death squads in central America that murdered 1.3 million people. He then in turn had central and south American criminal syndicates sell drugs into the USA with the permission of the CIA turning a blind eye so they could fund the purchases. He did this under a democratic congress and wasn't impeach, Trump would have to murder someone on tape to get impeached, as in pull out a gun and shoot them with their hands up or in the back of the head. Also if he got impeached, then you got president pence. Does that sound much better to you?

He doesn't have to do anything with Opec, Obama made American energy independent. America is now a net exporter of oil. Oil prices are already very low, if they go any lower, Alberta will have another round of layoffs and transcanada pipeline won't get built and his approval of pipelines will be in vain as low oil prices and no oil from Alberta= no reason for pipeline! The Saudis and opec have already cut back production, that is why they have a civil war with the yemenis because they couldn't afford to prop up their fake government in yemen. If The saudis cut production again, their economy will be seriously weakened t the point the country is in jeopardy. Frankly, with the whole fracking, plus lifting of sanctions on Iranian oil, has made oil prices fall alot. Slow down in China's economy hasn't helped much either. And if Trump really does push through his anti-trade policies that hurt China's economy, demand for oil will fall again and prices will fall further due to global oil price glut. Even if Opec had agreed to limit production (again) then they'd still have to contend with all the new oil producers coming online in addition to possible lifting of sanctions on Russia, will mean huge amounts of oil coming online.

Repeal the regulations, my stocks need to go up, I want more money, repeal anything you have to, to make the economy grow. I don't live in America, but have their stocks, if they destroy their own environment, not my problem. If they long term destroy their economy for my short term gain, benefits my portfolio, usa will go into a recession in late 2018 around the time of congressional elections and senate re-elections, GO TRUMP, WOOOOO, TRUMP YEAH. Grab that regulation right in the p.

Trump Derangement Syndrome
H10 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Obama won two landslide elections back to back running as a progressive liberal from the south side of chicago in a nation that is generally regarded as right of center. Bill Clinton was never able to bring in a wave of democrats into the house and senate like Obama was. Bill Clinton ran as a southern conservative democrat. Say what you want about Obama, but he is insanely popular as far as US president's go. There have only been two democrats elected back to back since WW2 and only one of them managed to bring in a house majority and senate majority with them, Obama. Obama beat Bill and Hilary Clinton. Frankly, Trump should have been an easy candidate to beat, there is no "magic" about Trump. He doesn't understand something we all don't. Unfortunately, Hilary Clinton, a grossly unpopular washington elitist in a year where people are sick of her kind, rigged the DNC election with 8 senior dnc officials starting in 2014 to prevent another incumbent (like Obama) from winning in the primaries. Even the media was in on the fix because Sanders had crowds of 20-30,000 people and the media was ignoring it to give preference to Clinton. Clinton was unpopular, alienated democratic core base (white working class men and women, progressives and african americans) and instead chased the moderate republican vote and latino vote. Unfortunately that was not enough. Clinton's was down by literally hundreds of thousands of votes in cities like detroit which should have been easy for her to win. She was so far down in the rural areas too that it made it hard for her to even win states likes pennsylvania and wisconsin because she couldn't even turn out those 1 in 5 or 1 in 3 democrats in those rural counties. Trump had lower numbers than John Kerry, he would have lost to almost any other democratic nominee except Clinton. Even O malley or webb would have a better shot of beating Trump and Sanders would have crushed Trump. Clinton is literally the worst candidate without a criminal conviction you could run, even rod blagovich would have been better because at least he'd be smart enough to not tell voters in coal country ohio and pennsylvania I'm going to put you out of a job. -

No one is stopping you from obtaining that, you have access to that. Even if you live in a house that is valued at $6 million like mine, you are only paying around $10 grand in pt, you are not going to afford private school on that. Teachers have 5 day work weeks. You want free day care, you are trying to use the school as a FREE DAY CARE. It is about learning, and the children, children best benefit from teachers with ongoing training during the school year. Would you want your doctor to stop getting on going training? You want free day care. Few day care workers become teachers. Although the day care workers with substantial education usually would not take the PAY CUT to become a teacher, with substantially more work. School is not a daycare, teachers are not there to daycare your child, want daycare, PAY FOR IT. There is not a shortage of investment bankers or day traders or tech gurus and lawyers and government workers. Teaching is a profession, not a career! There are not that many qualified teachers. so what?

Banning terrorist states is not discrimination. How do you check if someone is a terrorist in Syria when half the government is controlld by ISIS? Do you understand ISIS controlled many government offices and can print off any document they want? It is not arbitrary, it comes from a list of terrorist states from Obama. -
No it is fake news because they are lying.

Teachers work on pd days, the kids have the day off, you are confusing kids with teachers. You want teachers to be your free daycare? Pay for your own daycare buddy. Until your kid gets sick, injured or harmed or worse you get sued by another parents because the teacher's didn't have pd days to get trained. Teachers work full time, you have teacher hatred. Alot of teachers would probably earn more and be much more happy as private sector consultants and trainers earning $250,000 a contract to train the under-educated work force. Teachers are exposed to an unusual large number of hazards, childhood diseases and illnesses walking on ice, sleet and freezing rain multiple times a week, having to break up kids the size of adults fighting, kids kicking balls in their heads throwing hotdogs in their eyes, food fights etc. I mean to a young person in their 20s or 30s most of those are not the end of the world, but to a 60 or 50 year old teacher, slipping on the ice, breaking a hip or getting hit in the head with a ball unexpectedly or getting a black eye from a student throwing fist is something where 11 sick days might not even be enough. Not to mention all the flu kids seems to constantly have. Pension fund is paid by the teachers, you could have a generous pension if you PAY FOR IT. Teachers do not get as big as holidays as you think, they have to prepare when the kids are off.
-
I doubt this is true, because if she gets caught she can get fired, even just a pattern of missing pd days could get a teacher released.
-
Teachers are not overpaid, they are paid less than alot of blue collar workers with far less education like police and firemen who traditionally they earned alot more than. You know nothing about teaching south of the border, in many of these districts like montecito california, teachers average 6 figure pay checks. In Atlantic City teachers average 94k a year. http://patch.com/new-jersey/longvalley/njs-highest-lowest-paid-teachers-district " Setting the pace in Washington is the Everett School District with a top base salary of $97,445 that will rise to $103,000 for the 2017-18 school year under a new contract signed last fall. " http://www.heraldnet.com/news/snohomish-countys-top-teachers-earn-highest-pay-in-state/ " Lakeside Union Elementary School District’s $105,608 " http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/education/sdut-how-sd-unified-teacher-pay-stacks-up-2015apr11-story.html Striking is a labor right. Dismantling the job and union, allowing open hiring will probably push the top tier talent teachers out, lower educational quality. Teachers do not get bonuses like in the private sector, the only real reward in teaching is the benefits. What highly skilled graduate with 2 university degrees is going to go take a job paying less than a cop, fireman, or private sector, where their pay is limited, they have difficult working conditions including walking out on snow, being hit by students, exposed to child hood illnesses of every manner. What would most likely happen is what we seen in some Republican districts south of the border, proliferation of private schools just to get a decent standard of education and then you are going to be paying a private check plus your property taxes to get a decent education. Everyone thinks teaching is an easy job, except the teachers, especially the ones you see home having to carry a box full of work to mark every night. What about teachers with substantial skill sets? Most people cannot even manage 2-3 kids never mind a class full. She is using extreme examples to villainize teachers, what she is, is fake news. Most pd days are spent getting real training on things like health, safety, allergies, contamination, doing school work, discussing policy, legal things etc. While I imagine there are some things like yoga and bike repair, they are rare. Although many teachers have stress management issues trying to keep 30 8 year old kids in line.

Who is we? Canada doesn't have affirmative action. We have been over this multiple times. Jews are not a race. Jews are a religious minority. Jews have not faced the types of overt racism some visible minority groups have in Canada. ok. True. No wonder you were sent to racism training. Yeah but some aboriginal and original people are very pale. Can't speak about creating disabilities part though. ie. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/programs/metromorning/aritzia-racist-remark-1.3294028 " "While she was looking, I overheard her speaking to another employee, that she didn't know why she was helping me; I probably wouldn't be able to afford the coat because I was black" Samantha Grant, cbc. Which is exactly why Affirmative Action is needed as a policy to force their hiring because they will not be hired based on qualifications. What we have is a de-facto white affirmative action policy where underqualified whites are hired over anyone. We need something to balance the scales against this over discrimination. I agree the HRTO is a waste, which is why affirmative action based on race should simply be implemented rather than wasting everyone's time Well you have no problem with it occuring in the schools when you wanted to force integration in the schools, so why not the work place rue? I had a teacher who expressed the same thing about age to me and discrimination. The question I have is, since this is well understood, why don't the older workers have saving over time and use that to start a business in the same field? I don't think I would want to be working under anyone at 60, at 60, I want to run my own business and have people reporting to me. I don't see alot of job ads for people with 30 years experience, I'd imagine it is just a bad idea to be working for someone at that age, and should you I agree, which is why I became a business owner, got tired of being jerked around by business owners. Can't beat em join em. -
He ran on a platform of a muslim ban, he promised the voters he'd give it, his only mistake, is that his muslim ban does not go far enough, because it permits in muslims from terror hot beds like Saudi, Afghanistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, UAE, Kuwait, Turkey, Pakistan, Tunisia and so many more terror hot beds. Mr. Trump needs to keep his promises. We always say that politicians don't keep their promises, but here is Donald Trump - a politician- partially keeping his promise and people are condeming him? This is a no win situation, no matter what Trump did, some pc whiners would whine. Why didn't all these people who oppose the muslim ban vote in the election? Seems like people trying to close the gate after the horses have ran free. The election happened, Trump is president, he ran on a muslim ban platform, we cannot be surprised by the ban but rather expect it. I commend Trump for honoring his word and election promises, even though I may disagree with his policies.

Trudeau invites refugees to Canada, taunts Trump
H10 replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I am underwhelmed by Trump's faux muslim ban. His ban is completely illogical. 1. The terrorist hot spots like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey and Egypt where left off the list entirely. 2. Countries that have not export significant terror to the USA like Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Iran are banned. The Somalis, Libyans and Iranians are actually try to kill their terrorist, whereas the Saudis, Palesitnians, Lebanese, and Egyptians are funding them, Afghan is the terrorist central and Pakistan is where they caught bin laden and many terror leaders are. 3. Trump needs to update the list, it bans the wrong countries. -
For my business. Most buyers are American so it makes sense I stay nearer to the market. My family also lives here and my parents are getting up their in age, where they need me to some times shovel some snow or do some thing or the other. My extended family is all here as well or in nearby nations. Moving away seems like a good thing, until a family get sick or worse and you realize you cannot just go back and live your life abroad as if nothing is wrong. Also if you want to function in Norway, you have to make connections in the business world which takes time, you have to try to break into social circles, you have to also learn the language which is going to set you back 3-5 years just to gain decent proficiency.
-
No, taxes are lower. Norway has far more deductions and they refund your tax credits you also tend to get your apartment and car from your company, which is why people live frequently in smaller houses, but it is a choice. What the heck are you talking about if people want big houses, its alot easier in Oslo than Toronto. Oslo,Norway, suburb. Justin Bieber stayed in this house in 12 minutes drive from Oslo city center. Stein Erik Hagen lives in this castle outside the city of Larvik
