  1. " What does the Bible say about atheism? Atheists are some of the most religious and faithful people ever. It takes an incredible amount of faith to be an atheist. Sun, moon, stars, oceans, the Earth, animals, babies, male, female, the human heart, emotions, our conscience, love, intelligence, the human mind, bone structure, the human reproductive system, biblical prophecies coming true all before our eyes, eyewitness accounts of Jesus, and more and still there are some people who deny God’s existence. Just stop and think about it. It’s impossible for something to come from nothing. To say nothingness caused nothing and created everything is absurd! Nothing will always remain nothing. J. S. Mill who was a non-Christian philosopher said, “It is self-evident that only mind can create mind. For nature to make itself is a scientific impossibility.” Atheism can’t explain existence. Atheists live by science, but science (always) changes. God and the Bible (always) remain the same. They know there is a God. He is revealed in creation, through His Word, and through Jesus Christ. Everybody knows that God is real, people just hate Him so much they suppress the truth. Behind every creation there is always a creator. You might not know the person who built your house, but you know it didn’t just get there on its own. Atheists are going to say, “well who created God?” God is not in the same category as created things. God is not created. God is the uncaused cause. He is eternal. He simply exists. It is God who brought matter, time, and space into existence." 25 Important Bible Verses About Atheism (Powerful Truths) (biblereasons.com)
  2. You call yourself "impartialobserver" and claim you are atheist so "have no dog in the religious battle". Hate to have to tell you but atheism is a kind of religion in and of itself. It is a belief system which claims there is no god and therefore man becomes his own god. It exalts atheism as if it is the be all and end all of everything, when in fact atheism is nonsensical. The result of atheism is that one must believe that everything just happened by accident and that life has no meaning. If one is to accept that, then we are just a chemical accident that happened. There is no purpose for life and nothing to look forward to. That is the kind of religion atheism leads to. Sounds very depressing but that is atheism. Atheists also have their own biases and are not impartial. Nobody is "impartial" as you claim to be. You are biased toward the ideology atheism and all that it means. Of course it also means there are no absolute morals, no right or wrong other than what somebody says is right and wrong. You claim to look at the world impartially, but you are only fooling yourself. Everyone has their biases. Your beliefs would have to be a result of claiming to be atheist. I am not sure you are a real atheist. Maybe you are only thinking you are, but maybe you are unsure. Sadly there are some serious consequences for not believing in the true God of the Bible. That could mean you think our culture and foundation which is built on Judeo-Christian civilization is of no more value than any other. That means you would regard our culture as no more valid or no better than the Islamic culture or middle eastern culture which is Islamic. Perhaps you would think western culture is no more value than Buddhism, Sikhism, or Hinduism since all are false religions. Why would an atheist think Communism or Socialism is undesirable if there are no absolute morals or absolute right and wrongs in the world?
  3. Britain had a tradition of unwritten rights. Canada tried to stick to that with its Constitution, but eventually succumbed to the U.N. declaration of human rights. Then in 1982 we adopted a written Charter of Rights. From that the Supreme Court of Canada uses these documents to create new interpretations which Parliament has no say in. We end up with a number of documents and rulings that set precedents. This is a gold mine for defence lawyers. They can pick and choose whatever they can find in documents and precedents to defend their clients. So you can see how if an immigrant or non citizen is charged with some offence, lawyers can resort to all kinds of documents and precedents to claim their client is innocent or not criminally responsible. If the accused is from another country, then there is always the claim that he didn't know all the laws of Canada and should not be therefore held responsible, especially for a first offence. Deporting people is also one of those things that can be appealed and drag on for years. There was a fugitive murder suspect, who apparently killed a number of people, from California years ago that appealed his extradition to the U.S. His case dragged on in the appeal process for at least five years. I wrote a letter to the Minister of Justice to ask what was going on with this. I don't write letters like that any more, but I was much younger then and naive. The Minister actually answered my letter and told me everyone has the right to the appeal process.
  4. Yes, that is true in one sense. But judges are influenced by the U.N. UDHR. Defense lawyers will use anything they can to win court cases and judges are under pressure to accept it. Defense lawyers will try to take the focus off the crime and victim and make the accused appear to be the victim. " In Canada, human rights are protected by federal, provincial, and territorial laws. These laws are influenced by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. Let’s explore how the UDHR impacts the legal system in Canada: Canadian Human Rights Act (CHRA): The CHRA, enacted in 1977, protects people in Canada from discrimination when they are employed by or receive services from the federal government, First Nations governments, or private companies regulated by the federal government (such as banks, trucking companies, broadcasters, and telecommunications companies). It covers grounds of discrimination such as race, age, and sexual orientation, and individuals can turn to the CHRA to seek protection against harassment or discrimination. The CHRA is directly influenced by the UDHR, particularly its emphasis on equality and freedom from discrimination unquote - Wikipedia Also see: Canada’s surprising relationship to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights | The Walrus It appears fundamental justice can be lost in this.
  5. The fact that Canada is a member of the U.N. means it has signed on to and agrees to obey the U.N. declaration of human rights. That document gives foreign nationals rights if they come to Canada legally or illegally. This means Canada is not a sovereign state, but is under the authority of the U.N. This would seem to mean Canada is actually a post-national state. Canada is more of an international state and has allowed itself to fall under the authority of the U.N. in some ways. This would seem to explain why Canada signed UNDRIP, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People. The ramifications of this are still unclear. It could have far-reaching consequences and could cost non-natives billions or trillions? of dollars. Canada has accumulated quite a large debt since Trudeau took power in 2015. It would be interesting to know how much money it has cost Canadians to support the illegal migrants who came into Canada since 2015. If you add up all the money Trudeau has thrown around the world and how much he has spend within Canada on questionable projects, it would be astounding.
  6. I would blame the immigration system for letting a lot of undesirables into Canada in the first place. This is certainly not the first time. The liberal-left is the problem. Canada is not a sovereign country any more but is under strong influence of the U.N.
  7. To be put on a health care waiting list for a family doctor or for life-saving health care such as cancer treatment or heart procedures and told by government we don't allow private health care systems in Canada is in my opinion a violation of fundamental human rights. It is Marxist and dictatorial. These political leaders who dictate this have lots of money and if they need health care, they can get on board a plane and fly to another country and get it. The average Canadian who is struggling to make ends meet obviously cannot afford to do that. Even middle income Canadians, who could otherwise afford to pay monthly premiums for medical insurance for a private system and pay a reasonable deductible, are denied the right to do it.
  8. I heard some of the Palestinian protesters in Los Angeles were converting to Islam. This is not a big surprise. That's what happens to people who don't have a clue about the world and just jump in head first to anything. The way to hell is broad.
  9. I can't possibly answer all your comments which would involve technical expertise. It is impossible to say whether you are correct or incorrect unless one is a highly trained economist of some sort. All I can really tell you is government confiscation of people's wealth through taxation, if it is for the purpose of imposing a Socialist agenda or system, is a form of theft or stealing. Government control or intervention in business is Socialist and a denial of personal freedom of those who invest in private corporations and business. The extent of laws should be to maintain law and order; beyond that, it must be very careful what it does that might be considered Socialism or a invasion of the rights to own private property and invest it as one sees fit. We do know that there are greedy people or crooked people involved in Capitalism but they have also been involved in Socialist systems that have been tried and failed. That is because human nature is basically evil and fallen. However that does not mean Capitalism is wrong. It only means there are lots of crooked people in the world. Freedom of the individual must still be respected and private property is a sacred right. Governments are still made up of corrupt people with a fallen nature to varying extents. This can be easily proven by looking at the various policies and laws of governments. It is folly to put your trust in government as the solution to economic matters. There are greedy people in all levels of society who have their own agendas. Here is a little information on capitalism from a good website: "One of the major moral arguments against capitalism is greed, which is why many Christians feel unsure about the free enterprise system. Critics of capitalism contend that this system makes people greedy. But then we must ask whether capitalism makes people greedy or do we already have greedy people who use the economic freedom of the capitalistic system to achieve their ends? In light of the biblical description of human nature (Jeremiah 17:9), the latter seems more likely. Because people are sinful and selfish, some are going to use the capitalist system to satisfy their greed. But that is not so much a criticism of capitalism as it is a realization of the human condition. The goal of capitalism is not to change bad people but to protect us from them. Capitalism is a system in which bad people can do the least harm and good people have the freedom to do good works. Capitalism works best with moral individuals. But it also functions adequately with selfish and greedy people. It’s important to realize that there is a difference between self-interest and selfishness. All people have self-interests which can operate in ways that are not selfish. For example, it is in our self-interest to get a job and earn an income so that we can support our family. We can do that in ways that are not selfish. By contrast, other economic systems such as socialism ignore the biblical definitions of human nature. As a result, they allow economic power to be centralized and concentrate power in the hands of a few greedy people. Those who complain of the influence major corporations have on our lives should consider the socialist alternative where a few governmental bureaucrats control every aspect of our lives. Though greed is sometimes evident in the capitalist system, we have to understand it’s not because of the system—it’s because greed is part of man’s sinful nature. The solution lies not in changing the economic system but in changing the heart of man through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ." 10. You think your way of thinking is good for you. I doubt it very much. You need to be reading the Bible, especially the gospels to begin with and be born again. Unfortunately, unless God gives you the grace, I doubt anything I say will change your mind. About all I can say is you are on a self-destructive road and you need to change. God would give you wisdom and knowledge if you let him and ask him. Don't waste your life away.
  11. Did you ever do anything like that? If so, you should be investigated.
  12. The U.S. police are arresting protesters and occupiers all across the U.S. Meanwhile Canada does very little, but allows the antisemitic protesters to carry on with their antisemitic hate speech, intimidation and harassment.
  13. If so many people and so many Hamas supporters have been killed in Gaza, why does Hamas not agree to stop fighting and sign onto a peace deal and release the hostages? How would these protesters explain that? Why don't these protesters demand Hamas stop the war? Of course if Hamas is not willing to surrender and just fired twelve rockets toward an aid crossing point into Gaza, should anybody be surprised that Israel will keep fighting? Netanyahu said today on Holocaust Remembrance that no matter what world leaders say, Israel will defend itself.
  14. No, I never thought or said anything about "special access" to people in power. I doubt many people with wealth are trying to access people in power. We did see a picture of Trudeau meeting with some Chinese guy who donated a lot to the Trudeau foundation a number of years ago. Then after that, China has apparently been involved in helping the Liberals get elected in some ridings. That's not what we were talking about though. The subject is capital gains tax which has nothing to do with wealthy people accessing politicians. That has nothing to do with it.
  15. Hamas just fired 10 rockets at a border crossing used to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza. Hamas continues to hold hostages. Looks more like Hamas wants this war to keep on going indefinitely. They get lots of sympathy from the world if it keeps going. I think that is the reason Hamas does what they do. ____________ The question is : Is Hamas willing to lay down all their arms, sign a broad peace agreement to end hostilities toward Israel? Are they willing to disband? Are they will to release all hostages?
  16. Doesn't matter if one inherited their wealth or earned it, it is still theirs. That is what private property is. Communists and Socialists do not respect private property and believe they are entitled to the property or wealth of others. That is covetousness. People that think like that need to be born again according to the Bible and believe the Bible which was given to us by God. Respect private property, do not covet, and work for what you want. Do not sit back and think government or wealthy people owe you anything because they don't. I wouldn't be comfortable around people who think what I have should be theirs or belong to them. Would you? That is a reprobate or criminal mentality. Respect other people's right to have wealth or things you do not have. Earn what you want yourself.
  17. Have you forgotten universities are full of Marxists, Communists, and left wing radical progressives, your favourites. Sort of like your picket line strikers with their baseball bats. Most of these "Palestine protesters may not even be from universities. They are more likely outside agitators and anarchists. Jordan Peterson: Our rotten, rotting universities | National Post
  18. Just outlaw strikes period. Strikes lead to crime and turn people into criminals according to what you say. Outlaw them completely and enforce binding arbitration for all disputes where the parties cannot come to an agreement in a reasonable time. No more strike. Simple. It's 2024.
  19. Wealthy folk are the ones that create jobs in a free enterprise system. Stop coveting what the wealthy people have. "17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s. " Exodus 20:17 If you want more money, you know what to do about it.
  20. Generally they don't listen.
  21. Liberal and left thinkers are the problem in Canada. They have too much influence in everything and the education system is breeding them.
  22. You make it sound like unions are like the mafia, organized crime. Anyone who tries to stop a person from crossing a picket line should be charged with a crime and sent to jail. Picket lines should not be allowed for essential services either and where they are allowed, only a maximum number of 2 picketers in any location. They should not be used as a tool of intimidation or threats. If they are found to be intimidating or threatening anyone, they should lose the right to picket and fined or jailed. Unions in the health care system are part of the problem. Too much power. That is partly why public health care is failing.
  23. The fact people have died waiting in Emergency Rooms is of great concern. They don't always seem to act when people with urgent medical issues such as heart problems are brought in to the ER. People have been sent home that should not have been. We see reports regularly about people who died in ERs. These tragedies should be investigated by an impartial body and somebody should be held accountable.
  24. New laws need to be brought in to bring unions in essential services like health care under control. Management should have the right to dismiss poor performing employees or re-assign them as management sees fit without the powerful union process that essentially destroys the ability to manage. I don't see how you can have the public involved in management. There needs to be a system in public and private that can actually make decisions and get things done without being buried in paperwork and bureaucracy. Those are just Socialist left wing word bites. Culture change is not going to do anything. We see how the Liberal cabinet ministers and bureaucrats talk about "culture change" in the Canadian armed forces. How has that worked. Now they can't even find enough people to join and the military has been on a downward spiral. I don't see adopting phrases like that as any kind of solution. It is too vague and has no real concret meaning. I think you still don't understand the basic foundational requirement. There has be reward and punishment. Only a private enterprise system can provide that. Nobody invests their money and blood and sweat into something if there is not going to be a good return. If you want good products, you must enable people to invest in it, run it, and reap some rewards for their efforts. Those that produce get rewarded well and those who don't lose and don't get rewarded but are shown the door. Socialism lacks that. Only capitalism and free enterprise provides incentive and reward for doing a good job.
  25. I don't see the public health system operating as a sole system as the solution. I see unions, bureaucracy and politicians as not the right system to manage a large public health care system. They have proven that a government run and controlled public system is not manageable. The only solution to this problem I see is a private health care system being established alongside the public system. You must get it out of your head that government can do things better than private industry or private enterprise. I don't think you grasp the fact that Socialist systems do not have the motivation to do well, innovate, improve, and be efficient, especially when there are powerful unions involved. Only private enterprise has the motivation to really produce efficiently and deliver the product. That means there has to be rewards and penalties for the players. In Socialist (government) run systems where everyone's job is guaranteed and protected by the unions and system, the same incentives and punishments do not exist. We need to get back to reality and face it. But we could keep the public system for those who cannot afford to pay a basic fee for insurance and deductible for services and still create a strong private system as well. "Thinking about management of the public system" is not going to solve the problem at all. That will change nothing. The general public can not be expected to run a public system. It will never happen.
