First Nations Summit Ends In Disaster For Carney
blackbird replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
NO. Anybody who voted Liberal or NDP or supported them in any way is responsible for the mess Canada is in with immigration, crime, housing costs out of reach, high costs of living, failing health care system, and every other problem that government has a hand in or responsibility over. -
Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
blackbird replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The problem is since forest fires, dead animals and vegetation are vast across the world, it is impossible to say what things emit a given amount of CO2. It is also impossible to determine what percentage of all that man emits with fossil fuels. Those are things that anybody should understand are impossible to determine. Now there is also the varying radiation from the sun, sun spots, explosions on the sun surface, radiation from outer space which all contribute to global warming. The bottom line it is impossible to say man is causing any significant global warming or contributing to climate change. It is just too complex a universe to know. Man-made climate change is pure speculation because many people have the notion that since man has an intellect, invents technological society that he must somehow be the culprit that causes climate change. No proof; just false assumptions. -
Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?

What about all the forest fire emissions? What about all the dead animals and dead vegetation across the millions of acres of Canada? Do you believe they can measure all the emissions from all that? -
You are responsible for the mess Canada is.

Air Canada Strike -Does Mark Carney have "power"?

Some should go to jail for massive law breaking. Caused massive inconvenience and delays and much expense to thousands of travelers for extra hotels, taxis, and meals. We are either a country of laws or not. -
" The United States has long been a beacon of humanitarian protection. Immigrants and refugees from all over the world come to the United States to seek safety, security, and a new life. However, decades of destructive policies, Congressional inaction, and pitting communities against each other have created heartbreaking human rights and humanitarian crises across the country, from small towns to big cities. Today, we are witnessing cruelty at the border, raids in our communities, mass detention expansion including the detention of families with children, and President Trump’s mass deportations pushing our immigrant friends and neighbors to live in fear. These policies and practices have been catastrophic for immigrants and people seeking safety in communities across the United States. Mass deportation is not only cruel and inhumane—it is also extraordinarily costly. quote Right now, Congress is considering almost half a trillion dollars to advance President Trump’s harmful and xenophobic immigration policies, including border militarization and mass deportations that rip families and communities apart. A Better Way: Respecting the Human Rights of Immigrants and People Seeking Safety in the United States | Amnesty International USA quote International Detention Coalition (IDC) expresses its profound concern regarding the mass expulsions and forced disappearance of migrants from the United States to their detention in highly alarming conditions in nearby third countries, notably El Salvador, Panama and Costa Rica. These actions, driven by the current U.S. administration’s expansion of immigration enforcement beyond its borders, have exposed the gravity of risk to life, liberty, and mental and physical integrity of people on the move inherent in such policies. As U.S. immigration detention and deportation practices have escalated since January 2025, they have been accompanied by a rhetoric of criminalisation, the flagrant disregard of due process guarantees and consequent forced disappearance of documented and undocumented migrants in the country. As of April 6th 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported holding 47,928 individuals in immigration detention – a number approaching its maximum capacity of 54,500. Nearly half of those detained have no criminal record, while many others have only minor infractions such as traffic violations. unquote Grave human rights violations following mass expulsions from the United States - International Detention Coalition This is in sharp contrast to what the Bible says. “The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.” – Leviticus 19:34 This verse emphasizes the importance of treating foreigners with the same love and respect as our own family. It serves as a reminder of our shared humanity and the compassion we should extend to others.

You are strangely very blind to the simple wording in the verses about how to treat foreigners. Any normal person would read the verses and see it is very simple and clear. Having a border and laws against people coming in does not negate what those verses are saying. The Bible is clear on how foreigners must be treated. “34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. " Leviticus 19:34 KJV This verse emphasizes the importance of treating foreigners with the same love and respect as our own family. It serves as a reminder of our shared humanity and the compassion we should extend to others. Nothing vague about it.

You're very wrong. There are millions of believers in God and the Bible, his written revelation. So it doesn't matter what you say, the truth which is in the Bible is still the truth. God is the judge and there is a judgment day for everyone, whether you believe it or not. If you don't, you're in for a surprise. I never said it will change anything. However, what God says remains the truth and the last word. Believe me God will have the last word. The Bible promises "27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: " Hebrews 9:27 KJV It's what each person believes that God looks at. How one treats his fellow man is important, even in a forum where opinions are expressed. God sees everything. None of us are perfect, but we have the Bible to guide us. That shows us how to get to heaven and avoid going to hell. Even if we don't have the power to change the way governments or the world operate, God still looks at how we think and what we believe. That is vitally important.

Sorry bud, but the Bible says otherwise. What is written in law may be contrary to the Bible and the International conventions on treatment of asylum seekers. You can hide behind the law, but then you have abandoned the Bible to do so. You have chosen which one you believe in and agree with. It is not the Bible. " We all desire to belong, and welcoming strangers is an essential part of building a loving community. The Bible emphasizes hospitality and kindness towards those who may be different from us. By doing so, we create an atmosphere where everyone feels valued and accepted. God calls us to open our hearts and homes, offering a safe haven to those seeking comfort and friendship. In our journey of faith, we should strive to be intentional about embracing the diverse backgrounds and stories of others, demonstrating that love knows no boundaries. Leviticus 19:34 “The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Exodus 22:21 “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.” – Exodus 22:21 We are reminded of our own history as we face the call to treat foreigners kindly. Having been on a similar journey ourselves, we should reflect this understanding in our actions today. Hebrews 13:2 “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” – Hebrews 13:2 This verse encourages us to practice hospitality, as our simple kindness may have far-reaching effects. We never know who might walk through our doors, and our hospitality could bless them immensely. Matthew 25:35 “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” – Matthew 25:35 Here, Jesus links the act of welcoming others with caring for Him. Whenever we reach out to those in need, we are performing an act of love that honors Him and demonstrates our commitment to service. Romans 15:7 “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” – Romans 15:7 This verse calls us to mirror Christ’s acceptance in our relationships. By welcoming others, we contribute to a harmonious community and reflect God’s love in action. unquote 35 Important Bible Verses About Foreigners Assimilation (With Commentary) - Explaining the Bible

Nope, no one is saying that. How did you come up with that? You are not telling the truth. You, User, Nationalist have said all along they are criminals because they crossed the border illegally. That is your definition of criminal regardless of the fact they have good reason to move to America. Many were likely escaping extreme poverty or dangerous criminals. That is good enough reason for any rational person.
-
If you are saying they are denied asylum because they crossed the border illegally, then the U.S. is violating the Bible. The Bible says nothing about foreigners needing to be approved for admittance to a country to be treated with love, compassion and respect. Just arbitrarily rejecting people because they were not admitted according to an immigration procedure is not giving consideration to their status as refugees or asylum seekers. What you are saying is an admission of blanket rejection of people the Bible says must be treated with compassion and respect. A law that rejects people because they did not apply and receive immigration status in order to enter the country is not following the verses I quoted you in the Bible. There is nothing in those verses that says people can be rejected or deported if the migrant didn't go through the hoops to obtain some sort of immigration status. The fact 90% are rejected proves nothing. It does not prove they are not legitimate refugees. All it proves is your country is not accepting migrants or accepts very few. The 10% they accept might be only those who they see as a clear economic benefit because of their skills, ability, education or some other benefit to the country. Do you think extreme poverty where a person cannot feed themselves or their family is a legitimate reason to claim refugee status? What about if they were living in a high crime area which endangers them and their families?

WestJet & Sunwing -Airlines in Canada
blackbird replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Not really. There is such a thing as essential services. There should be no right to strike for doctors, nurses, medical staff and hospital staff, police, fire departments, and major airlines that provide essential travel for millions of people as in the present case. Also no strikes for the rapid transit and bus services that millions of people depend on to get to work. There should be mandatory binding arbitration for all these things and more. -
They are to varying degrees. You are lying again. People with no criminal record are not criminals. They are being arrested simply because they are undocumented migrants. That is not someone who is convicted of a criminal offence. It is just an excuse. They fall into the category of foreigners in those Bible verses.
-
It is what the Bible says.
-
That is talking about criminals. That is not the kind of people we are talking about. People who have not committed crimes are not to be just rounded up like cattle and deported. I quoted a number of verses that tell you that you have to treat the foreigners in your land with compassion. Foreigners who have not committed crimes are to be treated with love, respect, and compassion.
-
You can't just round up anyone who entered the country illegally because they may be a genuine refugee or asylum seeker. That is contrary to the UN conventions on refugees, but it also contrary to the Bible which says: The Bible teaches that Christians are called to treat migrants with kindness and respect. Key teachings include: Genesis 12:1-3: God calls Abraham to be a father to all nations, emphasizing His love for all people, regardless of their origin. Exodus 22:21: God commands His people to not mistreat foreigners, reminding them of their own experience as foreigners in Egypt. Leviticus 19:34: The Bible instructs believers to treat foreigners as native-born, reflecting love and equality. Matthew 25:35-40: Jesus teaches that we should treat others as we would want to be treated, highlighting the importance of hospitality and compassion. These teachings encourage believers to extend love and support to those who are displaced and seeking a new home. 4 Sources

When are you going to become a Christian? Do you know the Bible teaching on how to treat foreigners in your country? Do you accept the Bible on that? Obviously not. If you claim to be a Christian, you have no choice but to accept the Bible on how to treat foreigners. You can have it both ways by being cruel and harsh with people and claiming you are a Christian. It doesn't work that way.
-
Everyone knows the election campaign was full of claims about all the criminals that would be deported. The implication was constantly made that all the migrants are criminals. That is your own line. Pure lies. Of course if people are brainwashed into believing that, they vote for someone who is going to solve the migrant criminal problem. It was a clever election stunt. You swallowed it.
-
So how do you know who is a criminal and who is not? Why are the criminals running free if it known who they are? Why are they not punished if they are known? Countless people are arrested, incarcerated, and deported who are not criminals and never been charged for any crime and no criminal record. What does the Bible say about how to treat migrants? quote The Bible teaches that Christians are called to treat migrants with kindness and respect. If someone commits a crime, shouldn't they be arrested and punished? The fact is the Trump admin is arresting countless people who are not criminals and have not committed crimes and just arbitrarily deporting them without due process in accordance with the UN refugee conventions. Don't you think the government is teaching everyone to be Nazis and show no compassion to anyone? What will be next when there are countless Nazis running the country and spread throughout society? The whole world is full of depraved people, including yourself. Have you been saved yet or are you an unsaved sinner?

That victimhood claim is a bit of a lie and a stretch. You are brainwashed by the Trump, Naomi, MAGA crowd that make false claims endlessly. " NO NATIONAL STATISTIC There is no nationwide data on crimes committed specifically by undocumented immigrants, but research shows they do not commit crimes at a higher rate than native-born Americans. “We know of no national statistics on the numbers of deaths committed by unauthorized immigrants,” Michelle Mittelstadt, communications director of the Migration Policy Institute think tank, said in an email. Despite the lack of official data, there is significant research demonstrating “unauthorized immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than the U.S. born,” Mittelstadt said. Texas is the only state that logs immigration status in its arrest records, and several studies use data from the Texas Department of Public Safety to examine criminality among immigrants in the U.S. illegally. TEXAS DATA Two studies found that undocumented immigrants in Texas commit homicide at significantly lower rates than their U.S.-born counterparts." Fact Check: No evidence 4,000 people are killed yearly by undocumented immigrants | Reuters If you really want to do something about all the crime and 48,000 deaths a year by guns in everyone's hands, then bring in laws to ban the ownership of hand guns and assault rifles by everyone. No need to have thousands of people being killed by guns just so some can claim they are free to own guns to shot other people with.
