Me either. When you make the choice (and it totally is a "choice") to throw your own HUMAN rights and the HUMAN rights of every other person out the window, you don't get to then come back and claim your HUMAN rights. Humans who choose to act like animals, choose to give up their own HUMAN rights.

The Left invites terrorists into our home
Goddess replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Not really. The Liberals have made their wants and preferences the top priority over other Canadians. -
No. I'm disagreeing with you on the importance of discussion. But this discussion is clearly over your head.

The Ill feeling between left and right on immigration
Goddess replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It also wasn't "unexpected". As soon as Trudeau told them all to come here, we all knew this was going to happen. -
What? You are saying that your logic is so complete that nothing needs to be discussed, we should all just obey whatever you say. I'm trying to show you that discussion is necessary, because it sometimes shows you that your logic is flawed.
-
Asking for information would involve discussion. I think you confuse what a discussion is. Discussion involves 2-way communication. I suspect what you don't like about "discussion" is that you can't control it. What you are looking for is more like, "Everybody has to listen to what Altai says but Altai does not have to consider anything anyone else says." It's really all about CONTROL for you. This is why you keep saying "There is nothing to discuss" - because you have a need to be in control of the information, a need to always be right and have no interest in expanding your knowledge or listening to what other people have to say.
-
That was my point. Contradictory. My point, again, was that discussion can help you consider things about a situation that you didn't know about. I think my point went "Whizzzzzzz!" - right over your head.

Expectation - Observation = Frustration What seems a logical way of thinking for you may not seem logical for others. For instance, my mother was frustrated with my grandmother one time while doing dishes after supper and asked my grandmother, "Why are your pots and pans in so many different cupboards? Why don't you keep them all together?" Seems logical, right? My grandmother answered, " I'm 85 years old and I can't reach the high cupboards anymore. So I keep the things I use often where they're easy to reach. Things I don't use as often, I put where it doesn't matter." Also logical, yes? My mother had Expectations about what she felt was logical. But she failed to Observe my grandmother's situation. So she experienced Frustration. They Discussed it and saw that both sides had logical points.

He is quite a drama queen, LOL

Doing that would give away the agenda too easily.

Wow. I didn't think it was possible, but you are getting really low with the insults.

Quebec Accepting Refugees Summer 2017: 150/day
Goddess replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I read that 70% of the refugees are young males. 25% are women and 5% are children. -
You are very attached to Islam, by extension. Any criticism of it that comes from anyone but you is perceived as a criticism of your sister. When people are discussing the problems in Islam, we are all aware that not ALL muslims think that way. We have all said that many times. Over and over and over. It's you who refuse to see that. People should be able to discuss the problems in Islam without you directing how that conversation takes place and censoring what everyone says. You constantly jump to the conclusion that any criticism of Islam is directed toward individuals, in particular your sister. I'm sure your sister and your freinds are wonderful people. What you need to understand is that not ALL muslims are like your sister. What do you want me to do? You deny there is hatred of Jews in mainstream Islam, yet there are myriads of examples of it - all over the world, on a daily basis. You keep saying that it is only a tiny, tiny, barely perceptable minority who hate Jews and we should all ignore it and not talk about it. It is not. Do they ALL hate Jews? No. Do they ALL love and tolerate Jews? You know the answer, you just don't like when people point it out. I'm sorry I don't think Islam is the greatest thing ever. I'm sorry I don't believe Islam is "the religion of peace". I'm sorry I don't believe it honors or respects women. You are free to "Rah! Rah, Islam!!" for it all you want. Go for it.

Find anywhere on here where I said I agreed with any of those things. There's your answer.

http://globalnews.ca/news/3658241/somali-criminal-records-canada-us-deportation-intelligence/?utm_source=GlobalEdmonton&utm_medium=Facebook We are in for lots of trouble...... -
That may be how you perceive the conversations, because you are extremely emotionally attached to islam, but very little of what you said there explains how I feel about it.

Good link. I had been reading quite a bit lately on Muslim feminists, too, so I appreciate your links and research as well. The only part I slightly disagree with is that obsession with the hijab is not only a "very Western thing". I feel that Muslims themselves, especially in Western countries, have also contributed to making the hijab the ultimate symbol of Islam. Unfortunately, they have chosen a symbol with a history of values about women's inferiority, a history of abuse of power, a history of violence against women.

I'm just thinking of the Civil Rights movement. I don't think there was a large contingent of blacks fighting against the blacks who were trying to gain equality. That reform was more successful and quicker because they all agreed things need to change - men and women both. With the caveat that yes, I'm aware there are still problems with race in the US, especially certain areas.
-
Sometimes. In this case, certainly.

Churchill was a vampire??!!??

There are quite a few trying to promote some reform in Islam. They are the heroes in my opinion. i think West Coast Runner posted some links to other groups who are trying to reform Islam. They are frequently shouted down and threatened by their own Muslim community and by others who like to throw the Islamophobe label around.
-
And I criticise it for the same things. But becasue I don't agree with your assessment that it's just a tiny, barely perceptable, why worry about it?, everyone else is doing the same things, minority of Islam that share those beliefs, you interpret that as being "afraid of all Muslims". I think Fort Mac is more representative of Islam than you like to think. No, I don't think it's ALL of them, but I think there are a lot more Muslims who subscribe to these beliefs than you think. I had a lot of contact of with Muslims up there and few experiences were positive. Watching a group of about 30 random Muslims attack an Israeli girl and describe the horrific ways they wanted to see Jews die, was an eye-opener for me. Not one of the other Muslims said, "Hey, this is isn't right". They all joined in. And here we have Altai - same hatred of Jews, hatred of anything Western, promoter of Sharia law (but not for "herself" obviously from the profile pics) I've seen in most Muslims. A total hypocrite.

But you defend it every chance you get. And you get offended and don't allow anyone else but yourself to say it's not good for humanity or empowers women. I'm not sure what you're trying to convince me of. You are very contradictory.
-
Yes, "blanket over their heads" is the burka. Sorry but that's what it looks like and I'm pretty sure that's what it feels like too. Also sorry, but you're not going to convince me the burka brings any kind of good to humanity. You're not going to convince me that it is some kind of empowering "choice" made by women. Would I call it a "blanket" to a Muslim woman's face? No. THAT would be rude. But we are discussing it HERE. Only a dozen burka'ed women in Egypt? If you say so. There was at least a dozen of them in Fort Mac so........i haven't been to Egypt so I'll have to take your word for it. Your "nun's habit" argument has been discussed here many times and I think you know why some of us feel that's not a valid comparison. But you still trot it out. If you have to compare the burka to "medieval times" and nuns in the 1700 and 1800's......well, think about that for a minute. The hijab is less offensive to me. But it still prescribes a view of women that I do not agree with. And I also don't agree with the bullying that goes on to force women to "choose" to wear it. If you think hijabs and burkas are a boon to humanity and empower women, then knock yourself out. Support it all you like. I do not. But I'm also not as emotionally attached to the garment as you are. Yes there are other minority religious sects that do things similar to Islam. They are minorities and do not have the numbers or influence that Islam has. Just because some other group does something similar, it doesn't make it right in Islam.

When I see capricorn and bcsapper getting suspensions and bans and warnings, while they each post pertinent comments on threads, and at the same time a couple of others post nothing but insults and take over every topic to suit their anti-Western agendas and never receive any kind of warning, Yes, I agree with GostHacked. We can't discuss any topic here without HE busting it up with his anti-US nonsense. And Altai is the biggest troll I've ever seen on an internet forum. There is something seriously not right with that one.
