I understand that "Paul's ideals are not a left-right thing at all". The reason I asked for a response from the rightists like American Woman, and bush_cheney2004 is because they seem to run from common sense. -

I'm a big Ron Paul Fan because he speaks the truth. I find it funny that nobody will respond to this video. Where is the response from the right wing??? -

Iraq and Afghanistan wars are not related to 9-11? I mean Blowback Corporate America has been using the American military as their personal goons for many years. -

You have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about. There is a HUGE difference between a few knuckle head criminals acting on their own behalf, and an American Government endorsement of torture. Please think before you type, I will no longer respond to these retarded comments. -

Chretien knew this was an ilegal war and kept Canada out of it. What do Canadians have to be ashamed of? -

Canada was not involved in the illegal war in Iraq. Canada does not use torture. I'm going to start calling you Mr. Misdirect. If I was American I wouldn't want to look in the mirror either. -

Should we ignore the fact that the American Government reaction was criminal. Should we ignore the fact of 102,417 - 111,938 Documented Iraq civilian deaths. What about the use of torture? The rest of the world doesn't have the balls to call them on it. Place the blame on the people responsible, and I'm not just talking about the so called terrorists. Blowback is a bitch. The American people paid the price for having a Corporatocracy. -

You seem to be afraid of Progressivism, so I will assume that you lean to the conservative side. I don't know if I agree with your last statement "Progressivism is the nature of any group and will always attempt to expand its powers" I agree, I am against any Paternalistic Legislation. -
Wrong Bob..So very wrong. Just because you wish it so doesn't make it so.

Fascism is neither right or left, it's a social dimension. As shown on this site (Political Compass) Stalin was an authoritarian leftist, Hitler was basically centered on the economic dimension.

This is very true, but it is the ability to diffuse responsibility or pass it on to those above them that allows good people to commit or be involved with evil acts. Look at Abu Graib. I strongly suggest that anyone interested in this subject should read The Lucifer Effect: Understanding How Good People Turn Evil by Philip Zimbardo Or at least watch this video. I might started this thread on the question of corporation being evil, but what really interests me are the questions of what evil is, and how do normally good and decent people commit terrible or evil acts. If you found these video's interesting here are some other's Stanford Prison Experiment Face the Rear: An Illustration of Social Influence

What is this, a right wing circle jerk? Derek L I'm disappointed in you for even talking to this Bob guy. -
Why don't start on page 1 and look at what I'm talking about before you pop off. As far as being "pretty much ends this sophomoric thread", It's over for you when ever stop reading or replying to it. It's a philosophical Thread and may be over your head anyway, but thanks anyway here's your participaction pin.

The American government is set up so that one man can only have so much power, and rightly too. So your right that he talks a good talk but how much he can actually do once in power is another thing. If he won he would be going up against multi-national corporations that use the military as their thugs, and up against the Military–industrial complex itself. I'm still pulling for him.

You've been listening to the crazy ramblings of Bush for so long that when someone talks common sense you think that it's he thats crazy, that is funny . Ron paul is America's only hope. As far as this line As if terrorists have any right to tell governments of sovereign countries what they can and cannot do. I had to laugh What do you think America does all over the world. infantile foreign policy. Holy crap this keeps getting better. He wants to close bases and stop trying to be the police of the world So that America doesn't go bankrupt. He wants to get control over his countries Military–industrial complex.
