  2. No some are moral judgments of a religious base and social engineering.
  3. What does me being agnostic have to do with me appreciating the philosophy of Jesus? And really this is your best rebuttal? I might as well have an argument with my 9 year old niece.

  5. How about islamophobic Christians that don't really follow the word of Christ. King James Bible But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;.
  6. If this is the case what makes more sense? Outlaw something because a spaghetti monster in the sky may or may not be against it, or because it might protect a real person?
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Harper Government is Socially Conservative as apposed to fiscally Conservative.
  8. “As they pad their expense account and look out the windows of their $11,000 per hour Challenger jet flights, they think that everything is going pretty well. They just don’t get what real life is like for ordinary Canadians.” — Stephen Harper in 2005, referring to the use of government jets by Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin and his government
  9. I suppose the same way organized crime reacted when the government took over gambling, and alcohol in the states. They will disappear from these areas. This is not Mexico where the gangs out number the police, and the police are corrupt.
  10. Yes really, it's huge source of money. You simply have to look at the American prohibition period.
  11. Once again why not go to the root of the problem instead of putting on more bandage on. Marijuana prohibition is the source of a great deal of gang activity and crimes. Get rid of this useless law and you get rid of a large portion of gangs and guns. Not to mention help the economy. Prostitution can be handled in the same way. You control and regulate the trade, and you take the abusive element out of the equation. At the same time you provide access to information, counseling, and a way out for these women. Money well spent. It worked for gambling. The government takes over and the criminal element disappears or at least is minimized. As far as most crimes go, you simply have to look at crime the same as health care. If you look for the source of health problems they usually stem from diet, and exercise. Fix the diet or at least promote a good diet, and exercise, and you prevent disease. As for Crime, crime stems from child abuse. Concentrate on the source, and stop putting bandages on the problem.
  12. cybercoma You are right of course and I apologize for stooping to a lower level. I would just like to hear from the Harper side of this issue. I just don't understand how they could defend their party policies.
  13. What does it say oh great and wise one? This forum is about politics not about me and what I do to make the world a better place. Why don't you try defending your Conservative Party and or Harper against what I have said earlier?
  14. You know very little and assume a great deal.
  15. Yaa I know I'm over stating the obvious.
  16. You must know me better than myself. So go on tell me more about how I'm pretending to be compassionate. Ohh that's right you don't know me or what I've done. Some advice for you...Know what you are talking about before you jot down your thoughts.
  17. There is nothing wrong with having morals. I wish conservatives had more of the morals that counted, like compassion and empathy.
  18. Conservatives hate freedom. They are a Totalitarian group that is afraid of the people that they control. They are adverse to any change or thinking out side the box. The Liberals corruption is to blame for allowing them to take control. This country has always been left of center.
  19. The UN was a great idea but after Rwanda, and the Americans under minding it with their illegal war. I don't know what purpose it has anymore.
  20. Issue of real crimes like Pedifilia and paternalistic legislation have nothing to do with one another. Pedophiles need help, and society needs to be protected from them. Pot smokers need to be left the **** alone, it is their business and no one elses . Conservative simple mindedness and moral ideology is the problem.
  21. I'm not an expert on Clifford Olson background. But sociopaths of this type develop through genetic traits but more importantly from early child abuse. I believe that it is important to protect society from these people. But to simply create more jails in order to lock up more people seems counter productive. It's like a person (society) developing cuts after cuts and the government simply applying more and more bandages instead of looking for the source of the cuts and therefore preventing them. Harper seems to like following the American lead even if it has proven to be a failed system. Whats next a Privatised prison system?
  22. How come nobody is talking about what causes crime and how the money would be better spent. Ohhh yaa lots of people are, it's just that Harper hates things like facts.
  23. BILL C-50 184.4 A peace officer may intercept, by means of any electro-magnetic, acoustic, mechanical or other device, a private communication if the peace officer has reasonable grounds to believe that (a) the urgency of the situation is such that an authorization could not, with reasonable diligence, be obtained under any other provision of this Part; ( the interception is immediately necessary to prevent an offence that would cause serious harm to any person or to property; and © either the originator of the private communication or the person intended by the originator to receive it is the person who would commit the offence that is likely to cause the harm or is the victim, or intended victim, of the harm. BILL C-52 3. The purpose of this Act is to ensure that telecommunications service providers have the capability to enable national security and law enforcement agencies to exercise their authority to intercept communications and to require telecommunications service providers to provide subscriber and other information, without unreasonably impairing the privacy of individ- uals, the provision of telecommunications services to Canadians or the competitiveness of the Canadian telecommunications industry. Internet surveillance proposals face more scrutiny The bills from the last session included: C-50, Access to Investigative Tools for Serious Crimes Act, which would give police the power to intercept private communications without a warrant under certain circumstances. C-51, Investigative Powers for the 21st Century Act, which would allow police to get warrants to obtain information transmitted over the internet and data related to its transmission, including locations of individuals and transactions; and orders that would compel other parties to preserve electronic evidence. C-52, Investigating and Preventing Criminal Electronic Communications Act, which would require internet service providers to have infrastructure that will allow law enforcement agents to intercept internet communications of their customers; and provide basic information about their subscribers to law enforcement. Stop Online Spying
  24. Yaa but you'all from the right read the bible real good. Except the judge not lest yee be judged part.
  25. Tax forms, credit agreements, healthcare legislation: They're crammed with gobbledygook, says Alan Siegel, and incomprehensibly long. He calls for a simple, sensible redesign -- and plain English -- to make legal paperwork intelligible to the rest of us.
