  1. Here is the original BBC interview, not some out of context excerpt. I don't agree with her remarks, but to construe them as others have is sickening. She was suggesting that racism is so entrenched that the people born and bred in that environment are unable to change their ways.
  2. Perhaps those who are misquoting her need to explain why they need to lie. I suggest you get the original BBC interview and watch it in its entirety before following the lead of others.
  3. You obviously have a comprehension issue with first nation.
  4. ...or how about the US Virgin Islands, listed as #4 in homicide rate. Trump is the President of a shithole.
  5. Let`s see, "LIE-berals", and "Hogs", sure thing I am going to read the rest of the obviously rabid rant. You would think verbose people would at least understand that when they salivate like that, they are not to be taken seriously.
  6. That is typical of the Trump apologist to get things 100% wrong again. Trump very clearly said he didn't want the people from that sh*t hole, it is the people that Trump emphasized. Trump was calling Haitians shitty people, loud and clear, despite the apologists trying to pretend otherwise.
  7. Good luck with that, never happened in the past and never will happen. Welcome to the capitalist economy, created by the rich for the rich and screw everyone else. Of course everyone must bow down and praise the great economists, because that is church doctrine.
  8. Well one thing fired was thousands of Wal-Mart employees, they thanked Trump for his tax regulations.
  9. The first beer I developed a taste for (many decades ago) was Molson Export. We used to order a pitcher of it for $1. I was never asked for ID, which was a good thing because I didn't have a fake one. Probably benefited from growing up in Montreal. We used to make fun of the guys that ordered Brador, do they still make that?
  10. I don't think you have looked hard enough.
  11. Is there some new progressive definition of "couple", I am unaware of. This has happened to me several times in recent weeks, and again today when I walked into the bank and requested a couple of rolls of quarters. The teller asked me if I meant two, is there something else I could mean?

Yup same thing happened to me, a coupla times. I went to the bank and wanted to make a withdrawal. She said "How much?" I said, "Oh, a coupla hundred."

Can’t they just be confirming it, since you’re choosing to use slang?

Came home drunk the other night wife said "how much did you drink?" I said "just a couple of beers"

  12. So skin color is your criteria of what makes a person, you look at someone and judge them based on physical attributes. Short people have no reason to live. Wong, the only reason you are defending Trump over his gross incompetence is because he shares your views on judging people based on skin color.
  13. Don't get me wrong, Bayek should go, but you point out the problem of the Senate without knowing it. It should not just be a tool for the parties to drive their agenda, that has been its problem for years from Trudeau Sr's patronage appointments, thought Harper's talking heads.
  14. Yeah, yeah, and his mom made him cheese sandwiches and he slept on the bus.
  15. Stayed up late last night and watched this episode, it was very well done. I liked the coverage of the relatively new set of "telescopes" being used to detect gravity waves, that is certainly bringing new observations and will push the science forward. They talked about LIGO, but didn't talk about Virgo (that I recall). They did mention however the historic event that was detected this past August, if only a brief 15-20 seconds in the program. It is programs like this that we need public television for, money well spent (and yes thanks to David H. Koch, along with Alfred P. Sloan, and many others including "viewers like you").
  16. Lets see - Money laundering for Russian oligarchs, Deutsche Bank, Trumps long relationship with Deutsche bank debt and debt forgiveness, and current $120+ million owed - Do you need the dots to be psychedelic and flashing? It seems that the words of the national anthem and a basic understanding of the Constitution is too much for the President? No wonder the deplorables elected him, they think that the best way to counter academia is to elect a complete dud. The stupidification of America. Yes, we need to seen troops into Norway and force those damn Norwegians out of their homes, rip them from their families and community, and bring them to America to Make America Great Again.
  17. That's more than in Norway (total population 5,233,000 less 879,000 foreigners or 4,354,000)
  18. Trump is not just some random American, he is the friggen President. He should know all the words, especially after his countless rants about the NFL players and the anthem.
  19. I can say with 100% certainty that Donald Trump views Mike Pence as lesser a man than the President. He is expected to stand in the background and nod thoughtfully at every piece of garbage coming out of the Presidents mouth. I would say the submission role in the Bible is interpreted the same by many.
  20. The latest Trump corruption appears to be his gift to Deutsche Bank. Earlier they were fined $629 million for their role in laundering $10 billion for Russian oligarchs, and in December Trump waived those fines. The problem is in his financial disclosure he owes at least $120 million to them. Mueller is going to have a hay day.
  21. The hand of God will reach out and smite you down for such Blasphemy.
  22. Moderation in moderation --- Betsy, nice to see you still kicking around although I miss you from your usual haunts.
  23. It is called accountability, you need to demand better from your public servants. b.t.w. you and I know that it is not the Prime Minister himself, but staff that does these things. The point is he has responsibility. Back when you had real Presidents like Harry Truman you used to know that as well.
  24. Yes, the David H Koch foundation does support some great programming. The internet video has gone into its own black hole apocalypse in my geo, but I see the over the air broadcast is being repeated at midnight tonight so I may watch it then (glad those radio waves cross the border so easily).
  25. It is not just against women's lib, it is against mens experience. I would not want to have be robbed of the opportunity to be involved in the raising of my children. I'm glad that I didn't have a God telling me my place in the world.
