  1. I just realized, it's Saturday. I wonder if Donald Trump errr Alec Baldwin will be back on SNL.

    1. Boges

      Boges

Maybe I was tired, but it was rather unfunny.

I think the problem is it was getting to be more of the same. November 9th can't come soon enough.

      I did like Black Jeopardy.

  2. Let's see, the first Clinton oversaw massive and stable growth in the economy. Sounds like the right prescription for our current woes.
  3. Donald doesn't own the Washington hotel either. Trump hotels is changing to Scion because his name has negative value.
  4. Do you think the national economy should be high-risked?
  5. Yes, betsy is certainly a good shining example of balanced reporting.
  6. Not surprised, if you look at the individual deals like the hotel in the old post office in Washington there has always been a credit problem. p.s. We don't need another betsy, cut it out with the big fonts.
  7. Just to simplify to this single issue. In dense housing situation, there is no ownership of sewage, it is a shared resource out of necessity. You might say that everyone cleans out the sewer in front of their own house, but the guy at the start of the block only has his own to worry about where the guy at the end has the big pipe with everyones sewage going through it. Everyone needs to do their own part, but the parts are not equal by a long shot. Similar issues crop up in rural situations. If my neighbour doesn't manage his septic system properly, my well becomes polluted. Justice is a nice concept, but in the real world it has to be managed through a legal system. Unfortunately legal systems are notoriously bad at dispensing justice.
  8. Much better to have the Canadians monitor it, we can send in Michael Sona
  9. This thread is getting hard to follow on my laptop with it's small screen size. Could you dial down the big fonts please.
  10. We are not talking simplistic logic where all the parameters are known and agreed to. We are talking about complex interactions between billions of people and external events were we have little or no control. No matter how brilliant a model you create on paper, once you put it into the real world you will quickly see countless interactions that could not be predicted. I encourage you to continue your work and develop your model, and don't be discouraged when people try to pick holes in it. Just don't assume you are the first one to go down this path, and respect the opinions of others because they may have valid points even though they may not express them in the best manner.
  11. It would be interesting to get later years for that chart. The flatline in Canadian productivity in those years seems to correspond with the years of the increase in the exchange rate of the Canadian dollar.
  12. Humans are strange creatures. You know what is best for them, but seldom do they fall in line and listen. They have opinions, which are obviously flawed. Why can't they see my logic. How can I make them listen and comply?
  13. Theere is a live streaming service, but it costs $6.95/month. Why are all the competition complaining when CBC charges so much? Back to the subject that matters. I guess we are all in agreement that Trump supporters are too dumb to know they are dumb, so nobody is taking up the counter argument.
  14. Plagiarize a joke about plagiarism.

  15. Yeah, so far that seems to be the biggest change for the worse. Most other things I find better. I don't use mobile however, and that seems to be what many are complaining about.
  16. No issue, I cannot imagine a world without Bush. No invasion of Iraq, no ISIS, no housing bubble bursting, etc. No, a world without Bush would be bland.
  17. Get a Bell satellite box, it will work off your Dish antenna
  18. Canadians also pay to eat a Big Mac - your point?
  19. I am surprised, the folks over at FoxNews are not the bottom of the barrel. If you want to find/avoid the motherlode of Trump supporters go to Alex Jones's infowars.com
  20. We should remember that in Florida they used punch cards in some counties, and I believe there was a recount using the machines but the issue was about a manual recount. The punch cards didn't work so well as there could be 'chad' left, where the whole was punched but left hanging and not properly tabulated by the machine. After the 2000 election, punch cards were eliminated.
  21. What about our French and Aboriginal heritage? Oh yeah, you have already destroyed them.
  22. The Alfred E. Smith dinner turns from light hearted humour to nasty and Trump gets booed.

  23. I asid a significant percentage, not all. Perhaps half or more though. Yes, Perot, wasn't he that rich guy that ran against Clinton? Must be a Republican like Romney & Trump. What do you mean Bush, wasn't he the outgoing President? You guys have term limits so he wasn't running, was he? Sanders was? But I remember hm running against Clinton in the primaries so that makes him a Democrat doesn't it?
  24. Doesn't sound like they were offered that option. Besides how many Americans, let alone Canadians have any idea who Stein or Johnson are? Now roll back the clock 16 months and answer that question again. None at all is not an option, no matter how much we would like it to be. I bet you that a significant percentage of Canadians don't even know that other options exist. Most would probably think that you can only have Republicans or Democrats, kind of like a Communist state but with two parties instead of one. For most practical purposes of course they are right. I would be surprised if I couldn't count on one hand the number of third party representatives in federal politics during my lifetime, and I bet the majority of those switched to and/or from one of the two parties anyway. Bernie Sanders is a Democrat, is he not?
  25. That is over a year old, and I don't see any gushing. When faced with two bad choices, pick the least bad one. I am surprised Jeb Bush did so poorly, I think that has more to do with big bro than anything.
