It's funny cause it's soooo true. At least Cheney will get you medical help. Kennedy just leaves you for dead, and then tries to cover it up.

Is creating diseases in labs a lack of morality?
Shady replied to chrisparker's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
She has more then a few. Try a few hundred. Anyways, think before you speak, or at least take the time to do a little research. Link -
Fearmonger alert! Fearmonger alert! That's the same kind of bullplop that was spread during the 2004 Presidential campaign. It's not going to happen, so give it up.

What's With Democrats And Funerals?
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You mean this NAACP?NAACP chairman compares GOP to Nazis Bond delivers blistering partisan speech in North Carolina Link No. Absolutely not. The NAACP are an extremely partisan organization. Do not compare them to a funeral service. By no means is a President required to attend functions of people who compare you to Nazi's. Maybe during Hoover's time in office, they existed as a non-partisan group, but that train has long since passed. Nice try though. Not only did President Bush take a pass, but so do Democrats. What's With Democrats And Funerals?

Again, with people of your ilk, he loses either way. If he doesn't go to her funeral he'll be criticized, when he goes to her funeral, he gets criticized. It's a lose/lose situation for him. Like I stated previously, as the current American President, his attendance at such an important national event, for such an important national citizen was absolutely manditory. And Zues is right. What politician doesn't have an agenda? All politicians do. Especially the Dem politicians who attended the funeral. You know how we know? Because they voiced their agenda during the service. Yes, her and President Bush disagreed on certain issues. However, they also agreed on certain issues as well. They HAVE shared a stage in the past, both respectful of eachother, which is more then I can say for certain individuals that attended her service. A total lack of class. Because like it or not, it's a two-party system. Besides, I've found that most "independents" are people who don't have a core set of beliefs and stances on issues. -
U.S. Trade Deficit Hits All-Time High
Shady replied to Zues's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It doesn't necessarily mean that more goods are imported then produced, it means the total value of goods imported is greater then the total value of goods exported. And as I've already stated, the article refers to oil as the primary reason. We all know that America imports a great amount of oil. It has to, especially when the economy is strong and growing. -

Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No he wasn't. That's nonsense. As the current American President, his attendance at such an important national event, for such an important national citizen was absolutely manditory. Even the most rapid Bush opponent will concede that fact. You're way off base. Description of Straw ManThe Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This sort of "reasoning" has the following pattern: Person A has position X. Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X). Person B attacks position Y. Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed. Link Nope. It's a classic strawman. That's all well and good regarding MLK Jr and CSK's lives, but it doesn't dispute the fact that turning a funeral into a political convention is wrong. If it's not wrong, then you must agree that if President Bush delivered a political speech defending terrorist wire-taps and the removal of Saddam Hussein at Coretta Scott King's funeral, it would have been perfectly acceptable given the other speakers presentations. Correct? -

Strawman alert! Strawman alert! Not sure where "dancin" and "talkin politics" and "demurely sippin" mint juleps came from, anyone have any ideas? Ah Black Dog, as usual, full of symbolism, empty of substance. You're quite right. It's all about hypocrisy. Some morally bankrupt people find it perfectly acceptable to turn funerals into political conventions, however, thankfully, most regular people find it appalling. Can you imagine if President Bush took to the microphone and started into a political speech defending his policies at Mrs. King's funeral? Do you know what the kook-left would say? Do you know what colossal hypocrites like Black Dog would say? It's sad when one's hatred for President Bush so consumes them, that they lose all precepts of civility. Especially at funerals. Mantra to the left, lose the hate! It's bad for you. -
U.S. Trade Deficit Hits All-Time High
Shady replied to Zues's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The increase in the U.S. trade deficit is due mostly to increased oil imports. Why? Because the American economy is enjoying a very healthy period of growth. Gov't Budget Surplus Hits $21B for Jan The federal government ran a $21 billion budget surplus last month, the best January showing in four years, as both spending and tax receipts set records for the month. The Treasury Department said the government spent $209 billion last month, a record amount for January and up 7.9 percent from January Government tax receipts, however, also set a record for the month of $230 billion, up 13.7 percent from January 2005. The faster growth in receipts than in spending pushed the suplus for the month to $21 billion, more than double the $8.6 billion surplus the government recorded in January 2005. It was the biggest January surplus since $43.7 billion in 2002. Link -
KING FUNERAL TURNS POLITICAL: BUSH BASHED BY FORMER PRESIDENT, REVEREND Today's memorial service for civil rights activist Coretta Scott King -- billed as a "celebration" of her life -- turned suddenly political as one former president took a swipe at the current president, who was also lashed by an outspoken black pastor! The outspoken Rev. Joseph Lowery, co-founder of Southern Christian Leadership Conference, ripped into President Bush during his short speech, ostensibly about the wife of Martin Luther King Jr. "She extended Martin's message against poverty, racism and war. She deplored the terror inflicted by our smart bombs on missions way afar. We know now that there were no weapons of mass destruction over there," Lowery said. The mostly black crowd applauded, then rose to its feet and cheered in a two-minute-long standing ovation. A closed-circuit television in the mega-church outside Atlanta showed the president smiling uncomfortably. "But Coretta knew, and we know," Lowery continued, "That there are weapons of misdirection right down here," he said, nodding his head toward the row of presidents past and present. "For war, billions more, but no more for the poor!" The crowd again cheered wildly. Former President Jimmy Carter later swung at Bush as well, not once but twice. As he talked about the Kings, he said: "It was difficult for them then personally with the civil liberties of both husband and wife violated as they became the target of secret government wiretaps." The crowd cheered as Bush, under fire for a secret wiretapping program he ordered after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, again smiled weakly. Link And Tone of Wellstone memorial generates anger MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (CNN) -- The partisan tone of the memorial service for the late Sen. Paul Wellstone stirred anger Wednesday in some Republicans, political consultants and radio talk show hosts who say some of the comments and behavior were inappropriate Link Can somebody please explain to me their boorish behavior? Because I don't get it. I absolutely don't understand how some people can think it's perfactly appropriate to transform someone's funeral/memorial into a political convention. It's disgusting, and if I have to see that miserable failure of an ex-President Jimmy Carter grandstanding again, I'm gonna throw up. Somebody needs to tell that petty little man to go measure the misery index and report back. The index specifically created because of his pathetic administration.

How long will the Harper government last?
Shady replied to YankAbroad's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Mandate: An authorization to act given to a representative. That's exactly what the election was about. If you don't believe that Harper has a mandate, what does it say about the other party's, who got an even less percentage of the vote? Wow, I never knew that Liberals could be such sore losers. Actually, who am I kidding, I totally did. -

How long will the Harper government last?
Shady replied to YankAbroad's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Whenever the next election takes place, all I know is, that it's better to elect the devil we know (The Conservatives) then the devil we don't know. Because, to Liberals, the natural order of things in Canada is for them to be in power. When that doesn't happen, they tend to get quite bitter. -
Yes, it is there fault. They live in sheltered, non-advancing countries with repressive governments precisely because of their religion. Thier lack of openess in every aspect of their societies, especially where education and economics is concerned is the fundamental (pun intended) problem. This problem existed long, long, long, before "evil" America ever stepped foot in the middle east.

Absolutely nothing, but he's gotta work in all the usual liberal talking points somehow.

Stephen Harper never said he would "go after" "same sex marraige" (which by the way is an oxymoron), he simply said he'd allow a free vote on the issue. Something that has never been done. Why are people so afraid of free votes? Why are people so afraid of democracy?

This is a classic case of blaming the victim. Just like a woman deserves to get raped because she was wearing a short skirt, right? The Canadian Government has been doing a pathetic job of protecting it's citizens overseas. It's one of the many reasons I'm glad the corrupt, do-nothing Liberals are out of power. Maybe we'll see a refreshing change. Exactly. Although, I'd also like it to be the Israelis, Americans, British, European, Russian and Chinese. I'd like to see the whole Mullah hierarchy be cleaned out, as well as that psycho Ahmadinejad.

Why didn't Canada join in an uneccessary war?
Shady replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Yeah, you're definitely crazy. They were about as happy with Saddam Hussein as the Jews were happy in their concentration camps. Please try and be serious about these kinds of issues. We can have an intelligent discussion without resorting to ridiculous comments. -
Cindy Sheehan: Endorsing Chavez?
Shady replied to tml12's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Anyways, speaking of moron Sheehan, did anyone hear her latest rant? She stated that President Bush is 10 times the terrorist that Osama Bin Laden is. It also doesn't suprise me that she's cozying up to Chavez. I also read that Chavez is inviting members of Hamas and the Iranian Government to Venezuala. Your friends say alot about who you are. Moron Sheehan is in pretty bad shape then. -
Once again Muslims show us just how peaceful Islam really is. How soon before a fatwa, and how soon before the author of the cartoon goes into hiding for a decade? Or, worst of all, how soon before they kill him, like so many others? Oh well, I can't say that I'm suprised.

LA Turned Down Feds' Help, Documents Show
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You're about as disingenuous as they come. President Bush talked about New Orleans, as well as the other gulf state communites affected by the disaster. Did he mention the name of the hurricane? No. Is that relevant? No. Are you a complete moron and obsessive Bush hater? Yes, but that's obvious. -
This is a PERFECT example of the braindead attitude that permeates the kook left. It matters not what the event or issue is, as long as they percieve some damage to President Bush. They're like kids in a candy store. I've never seen such a group of immature "adults". Apparently, with Hamas being elected by Palestinians, the left now has proof that democracy doesn't belong in the middle east. It's a message that all the left can be proud of! LOL What in the world are you talking about? Why, are you outside?

Iraq's WMD Secreted in Syria

La. Turned Down Feds' Help, Documents Show A ranking Louisiana health official turned down federal offers to help move or evacuate patients as Hurricane Katrina bore down on New Orleans, a newly released document shows. But the state's top medical officer said Louisiana coordinated with the federal Health and Human Services Department in evacuating hospitals and nursing homes after Katrina hit. Two days before the Aug. 29 storm, HHS was told by the state's health emergency preparedness director that the help was not needed, according to an e-mail released Monday by a Senate panel investigating the government's response to Katrina. The state official, identified in the Aug. 27 e-mail as Dr. Roseanne Pratts, "responded no, that they do not require anything at this time and they would be in touch if and when they needed assistance," wrote HHS senior policy analyst Erin Fowler. Link Some of you owe President Bush a great big apology. And it isn't the first time.
