  1. If you were intellectually honest, this thread should be re-titled 'Dismal Democrat Performance In Upstate New York.' If a Democrat, in a state that went for Obama by 30%, and from district that went for Obama by 4%, who received an endorsement from a President with a 60% approval rating, can't win, then you know there's a problem. This should have been a pretty smooth victory, but just goes to show that Obamanomics isn't sitting well with many Americans. Do you think Reagan would have lost a seat in a Republican state a few months after his landslide in '84? I don't think so.
  2. Looks like Mitt Romney was right, when he wrote his op-ed back in November '08 Let Detroit Go Bankrupt IF General Motors, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye. It won’t go overnight, but its demise will be virtually guaranteed. A managed bankruptcy may be the only path to the fundamental restructuring the industry needs. It would permit the companies to shed excess labor, pension and real estate costs. The federal government should provide guarantees for post-bankruptcy financing and assure car buyers that their warranties are not at risk. In a managed bankruptcy, the federal government would propel newly competitive and viable automakers, rather than seal their fate with a bailout check. The New York Times Romney in 2012!
  3. Remember how the left mocked Bush for holding King Abdullah's hand? Well at least he never bowed before him, yikes. And video is truely disturbing. In case anyone at home is keeping score. So far Obama has been called a comrade from Putin's poodle Medvedev, and now has bowed down before the Saudi King.
  4. That's complete and utter nonsense. New York went for Obama by 30 points, and that so-called Republican district went for Obama by 4 points. You have a popular President, who endorsed Scott Murphy, and they ran ads on radio and teleivision broadcasting that fact. And what did it get them? So far nothing. In fact...... Tedisco Now Leading By 12! Link
  5. Really? And how would the 3 stooges have stopped the world economic slowdown and the resulting falling government revenues? Especially with their laundry list of so-called "under-funded" programs. You're a political hack. Stop embarassing yourself.
  6. Apparently President Obama's gift for the Queen was an iPod. I kid you not.
  7. Yes they should have. But they followed a President who didn't share similar goals. Fortunately, they have the '94 - 00' Republican Congress to look at as a blueprint. Yeah, Rumsfeld said a lot of things. Luckily, he's not a legislator, and won't be part of any future Republican Congress. I'm not really sure what this has to do with the new Republican alternative budget. They've outlined a great proposal for the development of more American oil and natural gas, which will help fund clean energy technology. It's a short-term and long-term solution, which has little to do with Iraq. Do you need a tissue? Then ignore the last 70 - 75 years of the projection, and concentrate on the first 5 - 10. Better now? Good. Now Americans have a choice. Higher taxes, larger government, a doubling of the national debt over 5 years, a tripling of the national debt over 10 years, and trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see. Or, lower taxes, smaller government, and balanced budgets and lowering debt.
  8. As I stated in a post last week, in another thread from a forum member, who's childish over-anxiousness led him to premature excoriation. The Republican budget alternative has arrived. Moreover, the Obama plan would result in an exploding deficit, a doubling of the nation's debt in five years, and an increase of that debt to more than 82% of our nation's GDP by the last year of the budget. This approach will ultimately debase our currency and reduce the living standards of the American people. Instead of doubling the debt in five years, and tripling it in 10, the Republican budget curbs the explosion in spending called for by the president and his party. Our plan halts the borrow-and-spend philosophy that brought about today's economic problems, and puts a stop to heaping ever-growing debt on future generations -- and it does so by controlling spending, not by raising taxes. The greatest difference lies in the size of government our budgets achieve over time (see nearby chart) Chart The GOP's Alternative Budget
  9. Another Obama Nominee Has Tax Issues (CBS)Kathleen Sebelius, President Obama's nominee to become Health and Human Services secretary, said in a letter obtained by the Associated Press that she made "unintentional errors" on her taxes and has corrected her returns from three different years. In the letter, which was sent to senators and dated today, Sebelius wrote that she had made changes related to charitable contributions, business expenses and the sale of a home, according to the AP. The wire service reports that she and her husband paid just over $7,000 in back taxes, along with $878 in interest, for the years 2005-2007 CBS Is anyone really suprised anymore? I know I'm not.
  10. Yep. Almost as many Americans that supported George Bush's Iraq war. That being said, you're ok with Obama adding more to the debt than all previous presidents -- from George Washington to George W. Bush -- combined? Unfortunately for you, the Congressional Budget Office isn't right-wing, it's run by Democrats. Obama's even losing the support of liberal economists like Paul Krugman. Newsweek The cover of their current issue is of Krugman with the caption "Obama Is Wrong."
  11. Believe it or not, but I don't have the tape. We'll just have to wait and see. Just like Sarah Palin's paternity test, right?
  12. And let's not forget about John Kerry's slutty daughter either! Pic
  13. Some interesting facts about Obama's crippling budget. The budget more than doubles the national debt held by the public, adding more to the debt than all previous presidents -- from George Washington to George W. Bush -- combined. It reduces defense spending to a level not sustained since the dangerous days before World War II, while increasing nondefense spending (relative to GDP) to the highest level in U.S. history. And it would raise taxes to historically high levels (again, relative to GDP). And all of this before addressing the impending explosion in Social Security and Medicare costs. WSJ
  14. It doesn't. But I'm enjoying using the same logic and language aimed at Sarah Palin and her teenage daughter back in the summer/fall.
  15. Ummmm, here's the latest from your precious "Obama supporter." G20 summit: here's hoping that Gordon Brown and Barack Obama fail http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/daniel_hannan/
  16. Plus, Biden's a hypocrite. He's strongly against drug-use, and then has a daughter who uses.
  17. Perhaps it was Joe Biden's close-minded stance on drug use that pushed his daughter into it. Probably.
  18. Yes, in March of 2008, he supported Obama. And as of now, he cautiously continues his support. despite his own litany of grievances, headlined by what he describes as Obama's idiotic stimulus package. Did you hear that? IDIOTIC STIMULUS PACKAGE! He also has grievances with Obama's tax policy, Obama's latest government spending bill, his proposed healthcare policy, and his overall economic strategy. Do you still call that support? He sounds like a member of the ever-growing list of the Obama buyer's remorse group. The kind of people you see on television, or read in newspapers or online, who begin their critiques with, "I really like Obama.......but."
  19. What you remember, and what reality is, are two different things.
  20. Do you actually read your sources? I won't disown Obama - yet <--- gotta love the title! "Well, I won't deny that Obama has done plenty of irritating things, ranging from the idiotic stimulus packageto the way he dissed the Prime Minister." Link Logic suggests it's just a matter of time, because the speech he gave to PM Brown, could be given verbatim to President Obama. Obama's policies are Brown's on steroids. He may not admit it yet, but you just know this hope n change fever has greatly diminished. I give him until the summer before he puts his displeasure in words.
  21. I did a little research, and this is much ado about nothing. Apparently Rep. Paul Ryan has been working on a very detailed budget which is set to come out next week. And apparently a few Republicans decided to jump the gun yesterday, instead of waiting for the real and finished document.
  22. Unfortunately it wasn't a joke. The event started out with the Prime Minster of Ireland reading Obama's speech on the teleprompter. Obama, then stepped up the plate to give, what he thought was his address. However, the teleprompter, being its usual sinister self, then supplied the proper script, of what was suppose to be the PM's speech. Obama then went on to give a speech that wasn't his, in which he eventually thanked himself for the St. Patrick's Day event. I'm now convinced, that if one programmed "boobs, boobs, boobs" on the teleprompter, Obama would spit out the words without batting an eye.
  23. How about a link to the budget, instead of some DNC web ad?
  24. Yep. That guy. And I'm quite sure that his opinion of Barack Obama, back in March of 2008 (your link), is probably a bit different from his opinion of the present-day Barack Obama. Because the present-day Barack Obama, is Gordon Brown on steroids. And to Mr. Hannan, I say welcome back sir.
  25. This is probably a topic more suited for the Rest Of The World section of the forum, but I'm posting it here, because I'd so badly like to see someone speak this to President Obama. It's long overdue. Daniel Hannan MEP: The devalued Prime Minister of a devalued Government He's definitely my new favourite Conservative.
