  1. Well in Canada there are also restrictions on Hand Guns. But that's pie in the sky in the US. Not sure why one needs a military style rifle like the AR-15, but whatevs. The issue I'm more perplexed on is the ease at which an 18 year old was able to purchase such a weapon. Actually 2 of them with 400 rounds. When someone buy lots of fertilizer or too many drugs that could be used to make Meth, Red Flags are raised. Why not with Guns?
  2. You'd hope someone's head will roll over this. This flies completely in the face of the whole Good Guy with a Gun Narrative.
  3. It all speaks to the gun problem. More guns, more death. It's a lot easier to end it all when you're depressed if you have a loaded glock on hand.
  4. There were far fewer mass shootings when Assault weapons were banned than there are now. This punk was able to buy two of these guns and 400 rounds of ammo within two days of his 18th birthday. He couldn't even buy a case of beer. American priorities are whack.
  5. There are so many things that are harder to purchasing than a semi automatic rifle in parts of the US. It's Insanity.
  6. Which is the main problem. There are many popular regulations that are being proposed. They get stonewalled by the ridiculous Senate in the US. This is all uniquely US.
  7. Since the cops clearly failed here, now Gun nuts want the teachers armed. The same teachers that a grooming kids with CRT. Americans are insane.
  8. Sure grab the illegal ones too. But the concentration of both legal and illegal guns in the US is so saturated. That's why they experience so much gun crime relative to the rest of the world.
  9. Sorry I'm not monitoring your every single post.
  10. Federal gun laws. So someone who may not be able to buy a gun in New York can't get it in a Waffle House state.
  11. The guns come from Indiana.
  12. That can be very subjective. My Libertarian view is that I don't want to live in a world where cops are needed everywhere. Luckily I don't.
  13. Have you seen the TV Series Dopesick? It's clear unfettered capitalism contributed to the Opioid crisis.
  14. Depression and mass murder are two different things. I'll concede that the Pandemic caused depression, suicide and even violence. Though I will point out that the Pandemic didn't just create an environment where one would kill themselves or commit violence simply because of the Pandemic. There likely would have been mental vulnerabilities that the pandemic only made worse. Still, the rest of the Western World doesn't create an environment where a pissed off Teenager can order a few guns online and pick them up at a Sports Chek, like this kid did.
  15. That's funny, because reflexively Americans want more "protection" from people that may commit crimes like this. Saw a video of Ted Cruz blaming the multiple entrances into this school as a culprit. Meaning he wants schools to be like the airport? Seems it only welcomes more intrusion from Paramilitary police.
  16. You're grasping at straws. Poor mental health amongst teenagers is nothing new. But regular school shootings are. Europe and Canada had much more stringent COVID restriction. I don't see people resorting to large scale murder in any other Western Democracy. We've had mass shootings/killings, but they are much rarer. The worst being a guy who used a Rental Van. I don't recall a single mass murder incident in Canada since the beginning of the Pandemic.
  17. How would you define an "Assault style rifle" There's little reason for a private citizen to own a semi-automatic rifle like that. But that's my personal opinion. I come from the Canadian school of thought on this, that one should justify the needs for a weapon like this. It's laughable that it should be for hunting. The problem with weapons like this. Even if you want to have armed people everywhere with glocks, rugers etc, on person for protection. Someone rolls up with a weapon like this, they're immediately outgunned. Which is why no one stopped Mr. Ramos from slaughtering children until it was too late.
  18. Not only was there an armed guard at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, but the police gathered outside while the shooter was able to kill students at will.

    Good guys with guns indeed.

Maybe if they just armed the teachers with military style assault rifles, this would never happen. ?

Really? Per capita, Canada has about the fewest number of police of any developed country. Even Iceland has more police per capita than Canada.

      Really? Good.

It's all good until you need them, then all we hear is the incessant screams and whines about how they were not there to do their job. Maybe you should have a choice on where your tax dollars go, it would sure take a load of the shortfalls police have right now, they just don't respond to your 911 calls. or your Karen calls about the neighbor. You're on your own Skippy, brilliant choice by the way.

  19. Well at least Canada doesn't have the Filibuster. BTW so much for that Good Guy with a Gun argument. https://apnews.com/article/uvalde-texas-school-shooting-44a7cfb990feaa6ffe482483df6e4683
  20. Can you say that you're fine with an 18-year-old buying an assault rifle online, no questions asked? There's no other developed nation that allows such things. And we see how many people die of guns in the US. Price of Freedom right?
  21. Murikans think it is. Well the ones that think the 2nd amendment is sacrosanct.
  22. I agree, but this has nothing to do with Gun Crime. These type of incidents happen in both Red and Blue states.
  23. If any Canadian is in the market for a new car, I don't see how a Hybrid or EV isn't something they'd want to consider. The arguments against owning an EV, if you have access to a Home charger and can afford it are flimsy.
  24. Right-Wing politicians run on preserving "Second Amendment" Rights. They shoot guns in their campaign ads. There's a larger than 10% faction that sees rolling back gun laws as a slippery slope to government tyranny.
