Germany is basically subsidizing this country and in order to keep Greece solvent they have to take control of their books at least a little. I thought the entitlements public services in Canada demanded was crazy. At they don't riot in the street. . . yet. Since when is retiring at 55 a civil right?

You clearly have never watched his show.

This is great news. I'm a big fan of his. He's a Christian media personality which is something rare in Canadian media. If anyone watches his show on CTS you'd know he's not into just putting people that agree with him on the air. He's always putting different people with different opinions. I just hope the new show will be a panel discussion like his current show. I find all the shows on Sun News are the same. Host talks, does and interview, talks again, has another Sun News host on to discuss another issue, talks again. Having regular guests on to discuss issues in a group is a far better idea for the show. I guess we'll see.

Good luck trying to lay off nurses of any kind without being accused of supporting people dying in the streets.

Krista Erickson Rawx!!!! I was clearly a set up interview, so she must have known what she was getting into. The topic was wasting taxpayer money. I don't understand, arts is important just cuz? This lady is essentially a public servant. Cuz she makes her living off the taxpayers dime. How is what she does good for the "collective"? Is she a Borg? Has anyone heard of her before this thread?

I really don't want to read 18 pages to see if this issue was addressed. The Anti-Semitic group that was supposed to be banned from the group should have been banned. The Pride Parade lied to city council's face last year and allowed them to march. I think city council has the right to deny funding to parade if they refuse to ban a group that preaches hate. BTW anyone find it ironic that the gay community loves to mock Rob Ford for being obese yes if anyone was to mock the stereotypical traits seen in both gays and lesbians they'd be called a hatred-filled bigot and potentially find themselves in front of a human rights tribunal.

Yeah you can't lock a thread about the Ontario election. But Caledonia is one of several reasons why Daddy Dalton is a horrible excuse for a premier.
-
Can I please interrupt this epic flame war. Why do you guise keep saying Lasagna? Can someone fill me in on the reference. :blush

The chances of a minority government in Ontario is very slim because there is no Quebec in Ontario to screw things up.
-
Outside Toronto, parts of Ottawa and maybe Windsor I don't see anywhere right now where Daddy Dalton is popular. The Golden Horseshoe outside of Toronto has about as many people at Toronto. The same people who got Harper his majority in Ontario are running this campaign. They took control of the ethnic vote in the surrounding areas of Toronto.

UH OH!!!!! Dalton going to get pwnt! LOL11!!!!11

Going to the Gay Pride Parade is work now? In what way does his appearance "Stop the Gravy Train" You know maybe he should just make a token appearance, but for people who hate him regardless of what he does, it won't be enough.

Cutting The Cord -- How to leave cable companies?

OK so I see the Sparacus series from TMN onDemand and it's awesome. So I hear about this 1960 Spartacus moofie. I wanna watch it. It's old, why should I have to pay anything. So I download it for free. Big whoop. What I don't like is people that download everything for free. Game of Thrones, I want it free. Green Lantern? I don't want to pay for it so I'll download a home film someone made in the theatre. You can do it, but why would want to? -
No it hasn't, it's just an example of the type of stadium you might want to build if you want to have a CFL team in a different market.
-
I'm not as upset about the HST. If it does what the Feds promise then it's a good thing. But it does hurt a little bit regarding heating and hydro. The $1,000 I got given over the past year certainly helped.
-
I forgot about that one. Let's just put it this way. Dalton is the Devil.
-
Don't tease me. That would save so much taxpayer money.

Sure, in this time of restraint convince governments or the private sector to build stadiums of 15,000+ seats for 9 games of a football season. Now if there was a popular university program like there is in Quebec and in Eastern Cities that's one thing. I don't think Western (London) or Laurier (K-Dub) draw that well to justify a stadium being built for them and some mysterious CFL team. In the US, a professional football team is an automatic moneymaker, not so in Canada. Hamilton almost lost their team because the ownership and the city couldn't agree on whether to build their new stadium in the downtown core (a place with no parking) or in the suburbs. (a place that had no link to public transit) They found a compromised location but a lot of the debate around not building the stadium where the owner wanted it was the fact that, after the 2015 Pan Am games there isn't a lot of stuff outside of the Ti-Cats to occupy such an expensive venue. In Toronto there is BMO field (which IMHO is a crappy stadium) and that was actually used too much and caused the field turf to age quicker that people though MLSE actually was forced to turn the stadium to grass because Pro Soccer players refused to player here so the stadium isn't being used for more local soccer events. But that's in the countries largest city and that was a stadium not used for Canadian Football.

I don't hate education or healthcare. But what we have in Ontario is an insatiable public service that will never be satisfied with what they have. You have to keep throwing money at it or they'll threaten to not teach our kids to read and/or allow our grandparents to die in the street. Something has to give. Either we fundamentally change the way we deliver public services or we resign ourselves to the fact that taxes will continue to go up and up. BTW there's a difference between lowering taxes to business and asking public services to cut back. Public services are entirely reliant on the taxpayer. Whereas a private business creates it wealth and the government takes money from it, when a tax cut is give it's not like that money is taken away from the government. The private citizen and/or business is just allowed to keep more.

No there aren't. Ottawa has failed twice but what the hey, let's give em another team. Then perhaps Quebec City and/or an Atlantic city like, say, Moncton or Halifax. That's the most I can see. A 10-team league would be far better though.
-
There is only one taxpayer.
-
It's not very interesting at all. I like football and I will try again to watch some Argo games this year but I find it very difficult to love the league. The rules are quirky, the goalposts are in the front of the endzone, the Rouge is a ridiculous way to score points, and the fact that there are only 8 teams makes an 18-game season way to long. There I said it.

It certainly is and the fact the 905 region went to strongly Tory in the May Federal election you'd think it would go Tory in the provincial election. Other than many of the downtown 416 ridings and Guelph all Central Ontario went blue.
