  1. So then beyond this issue. What is the solution to the problem if the "Palestinian State" won't entertain a solution that allows Israel to exist? Just curious. Obviously it's not something some lewsers on a messageboard can solve. I just honestly believe people's outrage towards Israel have nothing to do with the policies as much as it does to the state's link to the US and it's inception Post-World War 2 You can look to any part of that region and find state's that treat their people far worse than Israel ever has. There's a political agenda at play here. It's not because these people really care about the welfare of the Palestinian people, If they did care QuAIA would speak out against nations that make homosexuality a capital crime punishable by death.
  2. Well the buyer doesn't have to pay the commission, so yeah you're an idiot of you don't use an agent for that. Now I don't know how the commission works if the seller is using Property Guys or doing a private sale. I bet a Realtor won't even show a client a house if it's a private sale. My agent was fantastic in helping my wife and I find the right house. But do I want to pay her 5% when someone else might do it for 1%? It's something I'll have to wrestle with when it comes time to sell. 1% of any property in the GTA is still a really nice chunk of change. Again I'm asking a question. I'm admitting my opinion isn't informed here. BTW regarding the disclosure thing. By law a home inspection has to be done at the cost of the buyer, so it's not like the agent covers that.
  3. Well the problem with QuAIA is they promote a lie. Israel is not an apartheid state. Considering there are many Arabs live freely in Israel there is no racial segregation. Now you may believe in a two-state solution, or even right of return for Palestinians, fine but that doesn't make Israel an Apartheid state. It perpetuates Slander against a people that is unwarranted. It's like if I said all homosexuals were pedo's It's not true and it slanderous. And only people that have a real hate on for Israel and I'd argue by extension a hate on for the US would think it's appropriate.
  4. Buses and street cars don't use the same roads as cars? BTW in Halton I've noticed some great improvements in vital arteries. Those were paid for by the property owners. Now I hear peeble in Toronto bitch and moan that much of the congestion caused in Toronto are by commuters. And how they don't contribute to tax base. Which is totally ridiculous. What would happen to Toronto of those businesses that employed those workers that drive in daily if those businesses left because people didn't want to pay a road toll to get into the city? If you look at the growth of commercial business in Mississauga you'd see that Toronto isn't all that and employers have options.
  5. Sure buddy. BTW I heard on the radio this morning that TTC fares may go up. Sadly I'm sure the increase won't go to helping reduce congestion. It'll just go to the TTC's bloated workforce.
  6. I like how a thread that says the CFL sucks is the board's defacto CFL thread.
  7. My link I've never sold a house, I've only purchased a house. I used a Royal Lepage Real Estate Agent who was fantastic! But I didn't have to pay her, the seller did. 5% of $300,000 is $15,000. That's a lot of money for maybe just having to post a house on MLS. I don't plan on selling my place anytime soon, I don't have nearly enough equity in the place yet but I'm not sure if I can justify giving someone 5% for selling a house that probably will be in demand when I want to sell it. Are Real Estate Agents from Remax or Royal Lepage etc really worth it?
  8. I'd like to see a link saying there's a CFL game in the works. I don't buy it. It would only really work at DLC. Maybe a $15 XBL game or something.
  9. Wow! You are in the vast minority with that opinion.
  10. The "Northern" Style of NCAA Football sucks. Why do you think an SEC team has won the title since 2006. Before them a Big 12 and Pac 10 team won. The last Little 11 team to win the title was tOSU when the Mo Clarett Luckeyes beat the U. They're called the Luckeyes cuz a PI flag was thrown a half an hour after the play in OT. See I can talk US football in a much more informed manor than CFL.
  11. I made that point previously. I like the term "Pro-Style". I find it a more appealing style to me. You could argue CFL players aren't "Pro-Style" players even though the CFL is a pro league. Chad Henne is a Pro-Style QB, Tim Tebow isn't really.
  12. You guys are acting like there are CFL player and NFL player like there are MLS player and EPL players. Any football player would try to make it in the big leagues first. Every player in the CFL, I'd imagine either went undrafted or cut by an NFL team. Warren Moon, Doug Flutie and Cameron Wake. All three are legendary CFL players that later made it to the NFL and made an impact. But first they tried it in the NFL and initially failed. (You could argue Warren Moon's failure was race related) The NFL sees the CFL as a feeder league. Why do you think the NFL Network shows 2 CFL games a week in the US? This thread is about the style or either league. I've seen some great plays from CFL players. The style just isn't as interesting to me. But I'm going to try this year to give the CFL as much attention as I do NCAA and NFL fooseball.
  13. Thanks. I guess. FTR comparing the athletes is a futile effort anyway. If I'm a Canadian and I grow up playing Canadian Football but I have the opportunity to play in the NFL, I will. More money, more fame, more name recognition. Why do you think the best Canadian Hockey players play in the US.
  14. What is this sentencing you speak of? yours, C. Anthony
  15. You don't think the precedent set by the Samsung deal isn't dangerous?
  16. Under Daddy Dalton the teachers get whatever they want. That's why the Teacher's Union is taking money away from their membership to campaign against the Tories. Sorry but that's gotta change.
  17. I guess it is a positive sign that on a Saturday after gas prices hit $1.35 or more a litre you can still go out to a mall or a hardware store or Wal-mart and still see the place packed with cars. It's evidence that our economy isn't totally in the shit.
  18. I'm sure most of you have heard of one Tim Tebow. Possibly one of the best college QB's ever. But he never played a "Pro-Style" offense at Florida. If his time one the Denver Broncos doesn't work out. Most people don't think it will. He will be a great CFL QB.
  19. You ever heard of one, Darren Sproules? Think he'd be a good if not great CFL player? He's like 5'8. Think Chris Johnson could pwn in the CFL? What about AP, B-Marsh, or even older players like Randy Moss and TO? What about Steve Smith, he's a WR under 6 feel tall. I'll plead ignorance about CFL players, I don't follow it terribly closely in regards to the player. I just know the Argo's starting QB led my favourite team in all of sports to a 1-15 record. I started this thread because I don't like the style of the game. But to think a guy like Henry Burris or Ricky Ray or even Anthony Calvillo wouldn't love to play along side the likes of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady is ridiculous. Anyway, what I've noticed about the CFL is that the offenses mimic the spread offenses you see in the Southern US College Football. All from the shotgun, lots of lateral motion, very little hard nose through the tackles football. Lot's of passing (you have to when you only have 3 downs) It's evidence that the defenses aren't all that good in the CFL.
  20. Anecdotall I know. Cory Boyd's Combine My link
  21. You know the perfect solution for you people? A GPS on everyone's car that tolled people no matter where they went. You drive 1 click to Shoppers at 10pm for some painkillers TOLL!!! You need to pay for convenience of onDemand transportation!!! Fat chance any government tackling that though, they don't even have the courage to deal with the unsustainability of our healthcare system. That's another far more contentious thread though.
  22. That's pretty hilarious. Drivers are paying for to maintain a bureaucracy that does little for us. This is why I despise those ladies at the MTO that I have to pay every birthday for a little sticker. As for infrastructure. Lots of stuff gets done for roads out here in Halton to help reduce congestion. This is in opposition to the former mayor of your city, that did things to increase congestion like take lanes of traffic away and replace them with bike lanes.
  23. I understand the idea that speed is more important in the CFL because the field is larger and there is much more lateral motion. Doesn't mean the receivers are better in the CFL. Put Brandon Marshall in the CFL and he'd totally pwn everyone.
  24. How is it not ironic that someone, who gets his transportation costs subsidized, wants people, who don't get their transportation costs subsidized, to pay much more to use their car? And I get that insurance and parking are just the cost of driving BUT! why shouldn't registration go to infrastructure? It's a provincial tax, one in which you are forced to pay if you want to drive. If that doesn't go directly to maintaining the road it should. Black Dog, are you happy with a modest $1 or $2 toll for entering the city of Toronto using the DVP or Gardiner. Or do you believe in something more punitive, say a $5 or $10 daily toll for everyone who wants to go to Toronto.
