Sure it's not a job that anyone can do like flipping burgers or running a till. But it's not to the level of the other professional careers listed. Listen Libraries are fine places but they are hardly essential to our society. Evidence of this would be to look at the Toronto Star website and see what value the strike is being given. It's only four days old. I'm guessing if the inside workers strike on Saturday or had the outside workers gone on strike it would be a hot topic among the Toronto media even four days later. I believe the reason Libraries are popular is because they provide a service that would otherwise cost money for free. Internet access, renting movies or buying books. I wonder what the difference is between going to a library and borrowing a book or DVD and going onto piratebay.org and stealing it. Either way the content provider is stiffed out of compensation.

Ok then provide me with some insight into the complexities of the job description.

In other parts of Ontario, to save money, they allow school libraries to be used by the public. I'm sure this union that's striking now would rage against that.

We have posters on here going insane about a potential elections scandal where there is no concrete proof that what went wrong goes any further than the riding of Guelph. Well how about the Ontario government and ORNGE? This is the second time this government has shown an absolute disregard for taxpayer money on the Health file. It's no wonder the health system is a mess when money is spent like this. This government wants to claw back $350 million or so that goes to creating jobs but it'll allow a billion dollars to go down the drain. Absolute hypocrisy!

None but to compare the skills needed to run a library to that of being a lawyer, teacher and/or doctor is rather humourous to me.

getting a doctorate or masters in Library studies. Golf course management diplomas think that's hilarious.

Danielle Smith's Wild Roses ERRR Tires

Either that or it shows him having a large nutsack. I question your sense of humour actually not the rest of the people that find this funny. Heck this was even on Jimmy Kimmel in the US. He's not funny at all right. -

The Defacto Official NFL Thead (was 'Tim Tebow WTH?')
Boges replied to Shwa's topic in Travel, Leisure and Sports
Yeah their best Defender during those years was Brian Cox They came close in the mid 90's but not close enough. Oh well. Their my team, gotta stick with them. Tebow isn't a typical pocket passer, but then again the offense Sporano runs isn't typical. -

She looks nothing like Michelle Bachman. Well they're both brunettes. -
The Defacto Official NFL Thead (was 'Tim Tebow WTH?')
Boges replied to Shwa's topic in Travel, Leisure and Sports
No I wasn't alive when they won the Super Bowl. I became a fan during the Marino years. The theory with this move is that the Jets hired Tony Sporano as OC. He started out the whole Wildcat craze for the Dolphins in 2008. No better Wildcat back than Tim Tebow. Then again Sanchize was horrible last year and they gave him an extension. -

They do, the last time I used a Library was when I was in College. I remember using Mircofiche. Anyone remember Microfiche? But I rarely used a public Library. Occasionally in High school because the really big one near Square One in Mississauga is good. But I had to get on a bus and go there. In Toronto you barely have to walk a few blocks before you get to a Library.

So with the Broncos signing Peyton Manning, Tim Tebow has been Traded to the New York Jets for a 4th and 6th round pick. As a Dolphins fan I'm sworn to hate the Jets so I can't support this guy anymore. -
Well cybercoma was trying to compare education levels to the number of Libraries that are available. Using the internet and borrowing DVDs doesn't really contribute to one's education. Especially considering every public school I've been to has its own library.
-
New York is a pretty Liberal city. I'd like to see a study that links Number of Libraries per capital with education level. A lot of people use Libraries for free DVDs and Internet.

Based on my OP this thread could easily be changed to Luck (which has been cancelled after this season) or Spartacus. I still choose Walking Dead, but Spartacus is fantastic. Game of Thrones starts up in two Saturdays.

That Nanos poll was opposite from the Forum Research poll that was released only a few days earlier. This OLG plan is rather unpopular. Even people in Toronto aren't too happy that a Casino might be thrust upon them. People up in Orillia stand to lose from that. What McDalton is clearly doing is punishing those who didn't vote for him and rewarding those that did.
-
New York City doesn't even have 98. I've heard people say on the radio that they live within walkin distance from multiple libraries. The Toronto system is apparently the largest in the world.

They changed show-runners in the middle of the season. It's obvious by what ended up happening. The makers have a hard tight-rope act to do trying to please the fans of the comics and the casual fans that just want to see Zombies every episode. There are large parts of the graphic novel where there are no zombie interactions whatsoever. The more compelling part of Walking Dead IMHO is the conflict Rick and his group have with others not the Zombies.

I guess so, I personally thought he didn't do enough to distinguish himself from the status quo. I think, seeing how reckless McGuinty and Co, are being with the Provincial government a few months after the election could mean another election, which we certainly can't afford. If they refuse to make any compromises in this coming budget the opposition will have no choice but to bring this government down. I'm hoping the NDP doesn't back down. Knowing the leader is from Hamilton and part of their base is in Windsor both are communities that could see very bad things come out of the provinces OLG plan hopefully would mean they'd stand with the PCs against the OLP on this issue.

Incorrect. http://www.torontosun.com/2012/03/19/fords-tight-lipped-at-weigh-in He started at 230 and is 208/ http://cutthewaist.ca/ His Brother is doing much better. Nice that your partisan hatred of him has gotten in the way of actual facts.

Not a widespread Tory conspiracy. Also in a riding the Tory's got soundly defeated in so whatever they did failed miserably. But these things have been said dozens of times in this gigantic thread. http://amarudontv.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/broken-record-765056.jpg
