It's kind of weird that one would think having regular "drunken stupors" is behaviour of someone who doesn't have a drinking. I like having a night of drinking like anyone, but I don't think I've ever had a night where I wake up not remembering what happened the night before.
-
I guess you're right. It's just assumed by most people if he's been so drunk that he can't actually remember when he smoked crack.
-
Who questioned their integrity for not buying the video the last time? I thought a lot of people questioned the Gawker guy doing a Online Fundraiser to try and get the video. I also the impact of seeing a video of the mayor smoking a crackpipe is much different than a video of the mayor acting drunk, high or whatever the week he's already admitted he has a massive drinking problem and he has used crack.

It sounded, to me, like he was trying to do an old school Pro Wrestling bit. Blatch's thoughts http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2013/11/07/christie-blatchford-purchase-of-rob-ford-video-sends-canadian-journalism-racing-to-the-bottom/?fb_action_ids=10151959263916311&fb_action_types=og.likes

I do think paying for yesterday's video is a bit much. It adds very little to the story. It's just piling on at this point. And it sets a precedent that the media will now PAY for embarrassing videos of the mayor.
-
Well clearly he's made some crappy friends. You know the kind that'll video tape him doing incriminating stuff then trying to sell it to the media. If he continues to keep the same company, then yeah he'll deserve to continue to get what he's getting. One wonders if he's in debt to some of the shady characters that have clearly made his time as mayor difficult and walking away from it won't be as easy as just, walking away from it.

I think many feel sorry for Ford now, he's obviously got problems. Then you have his mom and sister coming out saying all his problems centre around his weight. I'd like to think he's hit rock bottom this week. Unless of course some evidence comes out that in the video he was ACTUALLY threatening to kill the guy who was, you know killed, in that video. Which at this point is a gigantic leap in logic.
-
Apparently $5000 was paid to buy a video that just confirms what we already knew. Piling on much?

Poll says Ford can win if he steps aside and get some help. http://globalnews.ca/news/951837/rob-ford-wins-2014-mayoral-race-if-he-goes-to-rehab-poll/
-
Well my opinion is irrelevant. I'm not from Toronto. I do think he's behaviour of late is unacceptable. I've said as much. It's clear that Ford seems to be good at causing damage to himself, he doesn't need help.

This is the video people are getting worked up over now. http://v.thestar.com/services/player/bcpid2071349530001?bckey=AQ~~,AAAAuO4KaJE~,gatFNwSKdGDmDpIYqNJ-fTHn_c4z_LH_&bctid=2816198523001 Looks like a drunk guy talking about a fight. OR is he really planning on killing someone. I do think the relentless focus on every little thing this guy does will slowly move people back over to his court.

Cheaper Ice Time for Canadians...in the USA
Boges replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I'm sure the difference in price can be explained by the salary of the people tending to the rink. The minimum wage in Ontario is $10.25. I imagine $10.25 is a living wage in many parts of the US. Being in the US recently I've noticed that the prices of package goods aren't as different as you'd imagine. The gap on clothing has, for the most part, closed. Sure there may be high-end items where savings can be reached but not so much anymore. Canadian retailers are near the border have become much more competitive. Now regarding alcohol and dairy, that's another story. It seems Canadian regulations and taxes screw the consumer. Alcohol is twice the price in Ontario as it is in parts of the US. -
Liberal Senators ignore Trudeau "advice"
Boges replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sort of a lie by omission but not an outright lie. I think the CBC should change their logo to a pom pom with JT's photo in it because I can't imagine they'll give him any rough ride at all in these 2 years coming up to the election. They'll be his biggest cheerleader. I think voting Nay is for self-preservation. It's clear Harper wants to Senate gone if not to completely change it, this suspension is a first step. -
I think after all this, that might not be happening. He's still not the parties nominee in the riding he was going to run in.
-
As long as John Tory doesn't decide to expand the TDSB to Faith-based schools he's a shoe-in. I just don't believe he wants the drama.
-
Not if only Chow runs for the Left. Remember those who say they'll run from the start won't necessarily finish. Rocco Rossi and Giorgio Mammoliti were both a centre-right candidate last election but bowed out when it appeared they had no shot. Joey Pants the far left candidate stayed until the bitter end and that ate into Smitherman's support.
-
The Highlight of the Rob Ford press conference was his spiffy throwback NFL tie.
-
Who says Tory is running?
-
Dunno, cuz Leaf Nation is a huge brotherhood of disappointed fans that no the pain of following this team. They're the NHL version of the Chicago Cubs.
-
BTW in Ontario giving children Alchohol without sufficient duty is punishable by death.

The story is a dumpster fire. Ford would actually have received some sort of sympathy from a great deal of people if he just said he'd take a break. Now he just appears like a stubborn holic. "I won't ever, do any of this again" With all the reporters and police following everything he does, I doubt he could ever keep that promise. This is just a repeating cycle.
-
I believe it's an alcoholic beverage
-
It'll be interesting to see if news will be made of the reporters that laughed at Ford when he said: "God Bless Toronto".
-
I'm just reporting what was said. He may have never admitted it to Doug, but that would mean he would have had to lied to him too.
