  1. http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/15/us/asiana-crash-new-video/ This has got to be the dumbest thing I've every seen anyone do, EVER! What did your contract stipulate you can't approach a body to make sure if he/she's alive or not? They just assumed she was dead and then ran her over TWICE!!!! These firefighters need to face CRIMINAL charges. If I was that family I would want everyone in that video face jail time.
  2. Yet I can't have a tube of sunscreen larger than 3 oz. SCREW THESE GUYS!!!
  3. I've been switching between Glenlivet and Glenmorangie but I'm starting to acquire a taste for nice bourbons. Might purchase a bottle of that next time I splurge at the Liqour Criminal Bastards Ontario
  4. As Squid said Netflix is nice but it doesn't offer anywhere near close to the quality content as premium cable. People who do cord cut often just steal content through torrents.
  5. I see Netflix it as a really nice premium cable channel. If anyone thinks it replaces traditional cable, they're delusional. And you're right, I'm still waiting for season 2 of Homeland. I could download it illegally but I don't care enough to do that. It's nice they finally put up another season of Top Gear though. The people who are "Cutting-the-cord" just don't want to pay for content. They use bitTorrents to watch shows at a lower quality through some media extender. Cable is expensive but it's great, especially with DVR and onDemand technology now.
  6. Not as many people have "Cut the Cord" as you would think. Many people are just using multiple services. http://www.thestar.com/business/tech_news/2014/01/14/are_you_a_tv_cordcutter_cordstacker_or_cordnever.html
  7. But in the instance of this story it wasn't just the one guy, it was all the guys in the class. The class went from co-ed to segregated because of the wishes of one person. The stories aren't completely comparable but I thought I'd post the link here instead of starting a new thread.
  8. If there is a market for men's only gyms then someone should open one. Of course there isn't a market for them.
  9. I guess the point is that religious freedoms should stop when they effect the rights of others. It sounds like in this instance the enjoyment of this girls in the class were effected by someone else's religious demands. I'm curious at what point we see co-ed gyms have to restrict where women can go on the floor because of a request from Muslim males.
  10. It's a karate class, that's the whole point of karate. . . touching!
  11. Two more the day before Valentines. http://www.thestar.com/news/queenspark/2014/01/15/wynne_calls_byelections_in_thornhill_niagara_falls.html Considering most see a General Election coming this Spring, I classify these elections as a massive waste of money. Oh and there's this. God I hope the Niagara Falls voters see through this ridiculous attempt to buy their votes, this government keeps doing this. Also this government has crippled the Fort Erie Racetrack (in the riding) I would hope they punish this party for what they've done there.
  12. It certainly matters to a girl who has to only associate with women in the karate class, she's(or her parents) paid to attend, because a man says she can't touch her.
  13. Seeing the Leafs hold on to a multi-goal lead in Boston almost hurts more considering what happened last May. So sad.
  14. It becomes a tug-of-war of rights and which side you fall on them. Does a Muslim Man have a human right to have people accommodate his wishes to avoid dealing with women? And conversely should a woman be forced into a segregated environment because an Islamic man doesn't wish to deal with her?
  15. I thought the dollar at par was a bad thing. Now it's a bad thing that it's dropping? I'm sure whatever manufacturers that are left are thrilled.
  16. Something similar has happened in Nova Scotia. http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/01/14/teen-felt-degraded-after-teacher-divided-aikido-classes-by-gender-following-male-students-religious-request/ I think we have to ask ourselves, are we going to allow, or should I say force, women to be segregated to accommodate a man's religous/cultural requests/demands?
  17. Sure but even at 6 a parent should teach the child what she can and can't eat. I think the parent is trying ensure that the child is treated no differently than the other children, which is unreasonable. From what I've heard these type of allergies are ones that create a reaction from consumption, unlike nuts where the smell can cause a reaction.
  18. Don't governments actually give a rebate for a purchasing a car like a Chevy Volt? The problem with Electric cars is they aren't practical at this point. The premium you pay to purchase one doesn't come close to offset the price of gas. Especially since new cars are impressively fuel efficient. I think the price of the LincVolt are irrelevant as anyone who owns a Classic car clearly isn't bothered by driving a car that gets very bad mileage. They're usually nostalgic about how cars were made back in the day. Ever watch that show Counting Cars on History?
  19. More importantly how much horsepower does the car have? Can it do 0-60 in less than 10 seconds? If you're going to drive a car that looks like that, one would think you'd care about the heritage of driving. If it's just a Prius that looks like a classic vehicle, it's a waste of time.
  20. http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/01/13/school-faces-human-rights-complaint-over-students-egg-dairy-allergy/ What's this mom going to do when her daughter gets a real job? I can sort of understand removing nuts from an environment because that allergy seems to becoming more common. Though I just enjoyed some mixed nuts for a snack at work without being chastised by my HR department. But to remove dairy from an environment? I would classify that as an unreasonable request. No Pizza Days? No Milk Programs? No Cheese Sandwiches? The onus should be on the person suffering from the allergy to try and ensure they don't encounter the substance that makes them allergic. Should this case be won by this mother, a horrible precedent will be set.
  21. Season 4 is Coming.
  22. http://www.savethebluffs.ca/ I suspect not in Scarborough, the Liberals need seats there. Why else would they run a candidate that claimed she was pro Scarborough Subway when she had been on record opposing it. I'm sure they'll find water in places that vote PC to put them though. Assuming, of course, they survive the impending spring vote.
  23. Actually the story was a Christina Blizzard column first published in the Toronto Sun. Queen's Park is her beat, so she's as knowledgeable to the goings on there as one Martin Regg Cohn. Regardless the quote was taken from the PCs Environment critic. I assume I can ignore anything coming from MPs that are critical of the Federal government then. The point made is still relevant. Is the Ontario forcing other energy producers to scale back operations, at a cost to the taxpayer, to make room for the unreliable power coming from wind? And waldo, you sort of gloss over the problem of storage, that's a pretty serious problem. I really think it would be unwise to expand the roles of these renewable forms of power until that problem is solved.
