  1. Stupid Aussie reporter asking about who she would date. No one would ask a man that. This is only her 5th major tournament, looks like she could easily be top 10 or even 5 by the end of the year. Certainly a front-runner for Canadian athlete of the year.
  2. Sorry but. . . http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee92/PROJEKTxxMURDER/ThisThreadSucks.jpg
  3. World Cup games in Iran? What will Drunk British Soccer Hooligans do?
  4. Americans are having a rough go of it in Tennis. There is only one good Men's player (Isner) and Raonic is comparable to him. Serena and Sloan Stephens are good on the women's side but both are no longer in the Aussie Open. It appears Tennis is most a European dominated sport, largely Eastern European. A good majority of the top women player are Eastern European.
  5. Canada can't use the Hockey Canada logo anymore on their Hockey Jersey, so they have to wear a simple maple leaf logo.
  6. You can get it on TSN or TSN2. It's starts at like 7pm and goes into the early morning the next day. I watched a few of the Round of 16 matches last night. They replayed Bouchard's match yesterday during the NFL playoff games, I switched between the two.
  7. Tory is a good guy and would probably win if he won again. He's actually moved quite far to the left in his views on transit which might be a problem. But if you listen to his show he pinpoints the true "Gravy" in politics. It's those people that make 6 figures studying, re-studying issues and pushing paper around from one office to another. The middle management in government is ridiculous. If Tory can actually tackle that issue, I'm sure lots of money can be saved.
  8. Never in my years on this earth have I ever seen high profile Canadians in the late rounds of a major tennis championship. Well now Canada has 2 young players that, in coming years, could become amongst the sport's very elite. Many know of Milos Raonic who is a high profile men's player but he has yet to make it past the fourth round of of a major championship. He's since been beaten on the ladies side of the draw by 19 year old Eugene Bouchard of Montreal. This weekend she became the first Canadian since the early 90's to make this far in a major championship. http://www.thestar.com/sports/tennis/2014/01/19/eugenie_bouchard_beats_milos_raonic_to_the_punch_the_spin.html She's had an easy draw but it's realistic that she could make it to the semis. As someone who's followed tennis for awhile I think this is great news for Canadian Tennis. Not really a debatable topic, just something I'd tell everyone, who wasn't aware, about.
  9. That story is old, Ford apologized and Dale dropped the suit.
  10. I hear that World Cup might happen in the winter due to weather concerns. Either that or outdoor AC a la the Hockey game they're playing in LA outside this coming week.
  11. OMAHA!

Three-seven! Three-seven! KAHUT! KAHUT! Over there! Over there! OH-MA-HAW! hup

  12. Will there be calls to boycott the World Cup in Qatar? Also the comparison to Beijing is apt. Is it because Russia is a largely white nation that there's indignation that Western nations are participating? I like what the US is doing by sending Gay athletes in their delegation.
  13. There's a French version of CBC, it's called Radio-Canada.
  14. From what I've heard, the excuse is that they couldn't see the "body" because of foam. Clearly they could see the "body" at some point and some idiotic dolts didn't see if the "body" was alive or not. That's grave indifference. If at some point the body was covered in foam and that resulted in her getting run over doesn't negate that someone if not multiple people were completely culpable in the death of the girl.
  15. 9 Shootout wins.
  16. I think most Newschannels seem to have the exact same format. - Some sort of morning show regurgitating what's in the Newspapers. - Mid-morning - Late afternoon: just a running report of whatever is going on today (most people don't watch then because they, you know, work) - Evening to late night: A succession of opinions and hard news shows. - Overnight: repeats unless there's big news that requires constant live coverage. Rinse and Repeat. Now CBC Newsworld shows the National likely because that's the show that does get gumint funding.
  17. So far just a civil suit. But that video displays some serious grave indifference to life. This story just broke recently so perhaps criminal charges can be added.
  18. CBC News Network and Sun News come to mind. CTV also has a News Channel. In Toronto they have a channel called CP24 that caters to local news. Has traffic cameras on screen at all times, most people watch that. It's owned by CTV so CTVs news channels are redundant. From what I've heard CBC kills Sun but Sun isn't available Nationally, soon will though. Sun is mostly opinion though, so it's not something I'd tune into when I want just the headlines. Local stuff is better.
  19. Gotta pay extra to get Fox News up here, ditto with MSNBC. CNN is on basic cable.
  20. Sweet they don't include Cumquats on that list.
  21. The running over part is just what ended up actually killing her. The true, inexcusable, incompetence is that a body was assumed dead and left in the vicinity of fire trucks.
  22. It seems to work for them. CNN is suffering from being painfully down the middle. Their ratings are suffering big time, people generally want to be told stuff that supports their opinions.
  23. Those images would be more impactful if it was a lush forrest before. From what I gather not a lot of Alberta is forrest.
  24. You can't post an Ezra Levant column on this board. It'll just be derided before it's even read.
  25. Your first mistake: Watching Fox News.
