Big Pharma and Lawsuits related to vaccines
Boges replied to GostHacked's topic in Health, Science and Technology
Your boy taxme brought him up. Apparently COVID-19 is a deep state plot now. And I guess the 75,000 plus people that died are chilling with all the people from 9/11 in some underground bunker. -

Trump can fire Fauci. He demoted people that didn't peddle his snake oil Hydroxychloroquine Why hasn't he? He clearly disagrees with almost everything he says. Things won't go back to normal because Social Distancing is still supported by the majority of the population. People who aren't prone do Natural Selection are going to be careful what they do in the coming months. -
Trump's Speech at Honeywell Today

That's not entirely true. There are still many people employed in the manufacturing sector in North America. North Americans just don't make cheap consumer products anymore. https://www.randstad.ca/job-seeker/career-resources/working-in-canada/statistics-about-industrial-jobs-in-canada-that-you-should-be-aware-of/ For higher end products. It's actually a good marketing tool to highlight "Made in Canada" or "Made in the USA". Manufacturing jobs, of any kind, were maintained as Essential Jobs throughout this whole thing. -
Did Trudeau Fail His Country On Covid-19

That's the Fed's purview at this point. Cite the infighting we're seeing in the US between governors and 45. DoFo and JT are aggressive political rivals. JT talked about him all the time in the October election. But both have buried the hatchet for the good of the country. You don't see either shit talking each other when they have daily press briefings. Which they still do, unlike Trump who turned them into political rallies and hocked bunk science and unhelpful treatments. -

Those are somewhat anecdotal. Millions have received the benefit. Actually many probably shouldn't be getting it and may get a nasty surprise next tax season. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cerb-covid-pandemic-coronavirus-1.5552436 -

The Feds have done well to ensure that people don't starve in the streets in Canada and people who are out of work can get support. That's good enough in my books. The provinces have taken the Public Health thing on and the Feds take on Financial assistance. -

Not fight with everyone that doesn't offer him absolute praise like Trump does. -

You're posting an article behind the Star's Paywall. So I can't really see how the study was done. The problems with Long-term homes is obvious. But it also speaks to the idea that community spread in Canada isn't all that bad. 3/4 of the deaths in Ontario are from LTC home. That's people over 80 that essentially went there to die. It's tragic and sad, but it's a manageable threat, unlike if people were getting this disease in scores from going out on a walk. -
Last week Ford said he'd need to see 2-4 weeks of improvement before moving to another stage of opening. I think he's changed his tune. Yesterday he announced that stores with their own outdoor entrance can open with Curbside pickups. Garden Centres can open up and the LCBO is going back to longer hours. I think this Curbside pickup approach may be a good approach going forward. It's better than waiting a week for a delivery and you don't have to go into a store and . . . you know. . . be around people. Let's hope these cautious steps don't lead to a spike, like I'm expecting in the US.

Quoting your own posts is classic Russian bot behaviour. -

Peddling the Autism myth is an excellent way for me to discredit everything you say. BTW your boy Trump will be the first one looking to peddle a COVID-19 Vaccine. -

These aren't Dems And Trump has never had an Approval rating above 50% so not "Every Breathing Human" agrees with your sentiment. -

US Support for Social Distancing is actually quite high. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/04/19/coroinavirus-polls-majority-support-social-distancing/5162668002/ Social Distancing has a higher approval rating than Trump. -

Cite Peer review studies that indicate the risk of a vaccine is worse than, say, the measles. People sit on the shoulders of doctors who have pretty much destroyed diseases that killed millions in the 20th Century and earlier. But, at the same time, believe long debunked studies about Autism. You can only feel comfortable about being an Anti-Vaxxer because a majority of the population doesn't share the idiocy and a level of herd immunity has been reached, But the more people think fake risks of autism outweigh re-introducing such deadly diseases back into society, that will chance. Every Anti-Vaxxer should be ashamed of themselves. Vaccine makers need protection because people, especially in the US, are litigious. It's the same reason grocery stores need protection against lawsuits if they want to donate food that may otherwise get thrown away. -
I'm not really interested in your conspiracy theory that this is a Chinese plot. My only claim is that this virus was spreading in December 2019 (Why it's COVID-19 and not COVID-20) and travel from China was unrestricted then. It's easily plausible that this disease was in North America by early January and people thought they just had the Flu. Infection numbers are likely much higher.
-
It proves that unless the China ban was universal it was irrelevant. Trump didn't ban travel to Europe until March. Yep, no one knew the gravity of the threat until March. But not everyone had intelligence reports in January saying how dire this could be. Trump was being told to ask for Social Distancing in February. He instead downplayed the virus. That's rhetoric. He was touting a drug that didn't work. And studies have proven it. Another drug has shown more promise, but he didn't hock it nearly as much.
-
Cite them. As noted in a previous thread. It's thought that the Virus was in North America in early January. It's called COVID-19 for a reason. It existed in 2019. Again, this is not a critique of Trump, everyone was caught flat-footed by the virus thanks the China's deceit. But Trump is on record minimizing the threat as early as March. Now America is projected to blow past 100,000 deaths by the Summer.

Canada being close to the US is a mitigating factor in Canada's cases and deaths. In Ontario, deaths are more than 2/3 people in Longterm facilities. California acted earlier on Social Distancing. Much earlier than Trump did. Yet they're stubbornly low on testing. Much lower than Canada's figures. Though their reaction has been a model on how to contain this virus. -
Ontario tracks this very well https://covid-19.ontario.ca/index.html Amazingly, 2/3 of cases have been resolved. ICU and Ventilator cases have been shockingly steady since the early days of the outbreak, which was the purpose of all of this. I think Ontario has done a great job.
