If they aren't registered, they don't get a ballot. -
They had plenty of contingencies. They'll play in Buffalo. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-play-home-games-buffalos-sahlen-field/

You're conflating allowing illegals to vote by mail with Registered voters from voting in order to avoid waiting in huge lines due to a pandemic. If you're a registered voter, you can request a mail in ballot? How is that fraud? -

With no evidence. I don't know if you're aware, but Trump isn't terribly honest. He demoted his campaign advisor and has clearly changed his approach to the virus. Were those things done in a vacuum? -

Apparently it's illegal to use State events to campaign. But laws don't really matter in the US anymore. Polling would indicate. -

Trump's handling of the virus is in direct correlation with his pathetic polling right now. Which has necessitated his change in "tone". this week. He has a choice and because of his his polling he's choosing a different path then the last three months that has led to an exponential rise in COVID. -

I noted examples in the most important Swing states where absentee balloting is already possible. -

Useless rhetoric. He's been campaigning as best he can in these condition. I note Trump can't campaign either. That's why he's doing these briefings again. -

But the economy tanked, and will continue to be tanked because of COVID. Re-open the economy as fast as you want. If people don't want to participate the economy will flounder. -

The consensus has been changed for quite awhile now. You can get fined for not wearing masks in parts of Florida now. No warning. Many corporations are forcing people to use masks. It's not a matter of choice when you can't access a service without a mask. -

Mail in Balloting is already possible in. . . Michigan https://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7-127-1633_8716_8728-21037--,00.html Wisconsin https://elections.wi.gov/voters/absentee and Pennsylvania https://www.votespa.com/Voting-in-PA/Pages/Mail-and-Absentee-Ballot.aspx In all cases you have to be a Registered voter to get a ballot. -

That's some intense yet unsubstantiated rhetoric right there. -

You don't think COVID and the Economy are completely intertwined? You could say that about any politician any given person dislikes. Say that about anyone who thinks JT is a disgraceful corrupt politician. He's in your Dome!!! -
Who's debating that they shouldn't? Pennsylvania also made a political decision. A hugely hypocritical one, but political nonetheless. I'm not sure what the arrangement would be. But it's not like the costs are that great anyway. There are gate or concessions to be made. The TV money is each teams responsibility regardless of where they play.

It's not certain. Polling looks good right now but that can change. But notice Trump frames even the most basic things as victories. Like a cognitive test used to test for brain damage. Passing that makes him smart now? So I expect any change in COVID-19 number despite him he'll claim as a victory even though he's washed his hands of responsibility in doing anything about the virus for the last few months. He even wanted to reduce funding for testing. -
That's certainly a possible outcome. Note the Orioles have no problem letting Toronto use their stadium, nor did the Pirates. These decisions are political.

Who said that? I'm not going to re-litigate what happened in 2016. I give the Trump team full credit. They knew where they had to focus their attention to win. But the Dems aren't making the same mistake twice. This election only really matters in like 5 states. But if Trump has to fight to keep Texas, Georgia and Florida. Those are a lot of fronts to fight the war on. -
So you're alternative is to have them forfeit and give W's to the other 9 teams on their schedule? If I was a Twins fan, I wouldn't support that at all.

Yep, but in 2016 he was at least winning in states like Texas, Georgia and Florida. He's struggling in states he took easily in 2016. -
I agree. I think the decision by the Federal government was the wrong one. Regardless, it seemed popular. The Blue Jays have a facility where bubbling is possible. But that doesn't speak to the staff that would still be going home. Which is why the Jays could come up here to train initially. They've been quarantined up until the point they had to leave to play road gaems. Irrelevant. They have a Canadian team. They play in one of the best divisions in the league.

His poll numbers indicate his impact is largely negligible already. He's pretty late to this game. -

Now he is, because his polls are in the toilet and the economy can't really open if people are afraid that they're going to get a serious virus. Up until this week he's enabled people who think wearing masks is a freedom issue and that the virus is actually under control. He says it constantly. Which is not true. -
If the US government choose that. Then yeah. Remember the border is mostly closed via a mutual agreement. The idea that Canadian teams play in US leagues is something different. There are different dynamics at play. But it's seemed to work up until now. Note that all American NHL teams are in Canada now getting ready to play in two Canadian cities. All NBA and MLS teams are playing in Orlando. This is just how it's got to work in 2020.

I'm confident they're not doing it for free. Each team has their own TV contract. I'm pretty sure the Blue Jays broadcaster isn't even sending their crew on the road with them. They'll just watch from Toronto. Right now this baseball season is a complete loss for all teams without any gate revenue. They just need to get together and put some semblance of a season together. And having teams say, no not my stadium! is probably counter-productive. I'm also certain other Big-League teams don't want to go to Buffalo or Dunedin for the same reason the Blue Jays don't.
