  1. All citizens over the age of 35 are allowed to be appointed to the senate. I'd rather a triple E senate.
  2. Has there actually been a real report done on this that gives details and reasoning? Someone sent me what they claimed to be a report once but it was just an article.
  3. It likely helped keep Rae from running from permanent leader. The CPC didn't know when previous elections would be so they attacked Ignatieff and Dion early on.
  4. I'd say the Conservatives are keeping the more personal ads till closer to the election. If they attacked Mulcair personally now he'd likely have the chance to recover once people got sick of the ads, by waiting till 2014 it will likely damage Mulcair in the election more.
  5. That's a smart way to cast a vote, good for you!
  6. So Deborah Coyne... http://www.deborahcoyne.ca/
  7. I never followed the race much but from what I had seen I thought he had a good shot at winning. Could definitely hurt NDP momentum there, though they still made big gains.
  8. Already changes your views I see. If all what you says comes true I'll give you $100.
  9. Bob Rae was a Liberal before he was a New Democrat, Stephen Lewis' wife knew he wasn't a real Dipper back in the 80's. Though Rae screwed up as premier he wasn't a hardcore socialist. As well you say Rae is going to stay on as leader till 2014, even though there is a leadership race set for next April with declared candidates so how is that possible exactly? I doubt the NDP and Liberals will merge before the next election, but it's not that surprising. I don't see why you would think Justin Trudeau would join the Conservatives rather than being either the Liberal leader or a member of the NDP.
  10. No your stupidity does, you didn't make a bit of sense.
  11. And Dumbest comment of the day goes too...
  12. Cardy didn't come off to good here by the looks of it. I guess New Democrats will just say that this isn't his riding and the NDP didn't have roots here and blah blah blah...
  13. David Bertschi's "exploratory committee" website is up now. http://bertschi2012.ca/
  14. All made up.
  15. Yes I'm going to deny they were found guilty in court.
  16. Oh. I have been more use to seeing parties fall in their first year due to them implementing their unpopular policies first.Your point is true as well though.
  17. No proof the CPC did anything wrong.
  18. Do you think the CPC is the only party in parliament that have MPs who aren't happy with all their parties policies?
  19. Not really uncommon for most parties in their first year is it? I don't think people "love" him, even those who voted for him, or necessarily like all his policies, but I do think there's a strong shot of him winning n 2015.
  20. He knew the issues too. It will be interesting to see his knowledge and ideas on issues if he joins the leadership race.
  21. John Baird will co-host tomorrow and Nathan Cullen will co-host on Wednesday, please explain this bias.
  22. I thought the same thing, but people will forget about that. I'd say if he runs and wins he will probably move his family to the Ottawa area.
  23. So because someone's name is less known means they are less privileged? Layton's grandfather was a cabinet minister and his father owned and engineering firm before becoming an MP, by the sounds of it they likely had a fair bit of money.
  24. I agree. One problem I have with some in the NDP is that they tend to leave the impression that if someone has been successful in say business and are wealthy then they are somehow currupt and must be conservative. I've seen comments from New Democrats about potential candidate George Takach and how he'd be the perfect candidate because he's a Bay Street lawyer and therefor all the progressives and left leanings Liberals would support the NDP and he'd only take votes away from the Conservatives. This because of his resume and nothing that he has said and done.
