Left or Right Wing Populism
WestCanMan replied to Independent1986's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The average Canadian has fallen victim to the extreme if you think about it. The extreme is when the mainstream media can tell lies to demonize a person/group, which people know are lies, but they still go along with them because of their own inner hatred. CNN has completely abandoned the truth and there's no denying it anymore. If you look back at their news reporting from the day that Van Jones was caught on camera admitting that Russian collusion was fake, you'll notice that a full 85% of CNN's reporting for the last year and a half has been fake. For the people who openly wonder "How did Adolph Hitler do it?" look no further than the brainwashed CNN mob. Humans willingly abandon truth and knowledge all the time, and they're willing to kill for their fake reality. Look up "religion". Islamic state wasn't the first islamic group to commit genocide to spread the quran. It's their go-to. -

OMG, listen to you going on about undermining institutions lol. The Dems turned the FBI into the laughing stock of federal police agencies. That was one of the most highly respected institutions on the planet and they're a disgraced joke now. You couldn't undermine an institution to a greater extent than the Dems have destroyed the FBI. You're calling Trump a sexual predator and defending Trudeau's sexual predations lol. What a joke, 1) you clearly don't speak the english language and 2) you're a hypocrite. Gives millions more to the rich lol, WTF do you think socialism does? Puts some people on breadlines, makes guys like Maduro and his cronies rich. Look around the world and through human history and find me some examples of societies with a healthier distribution of wealth than the US, which are sustainable long-term. Trump's golf trips are basically free compared to Trudeau's lavish vacations. About 98% of them are at properties that he is at least a part-owner of. Trudeau didn't 'bump a lady's chest, he groped a reporter and then apologized because he didn't know that she was someone important. WTF does that even say about him? He has a whole laundry list of bad excuses for that, it's awkward and pathetic, just like the weasel himself. "Taking a free ride to an island" is an actual scandal. Trudeau represents Canadians and foreigners shouldn't be giving him lavish gifts. If a realtor or lawyer was to take a gift from a 3rd party in a transaction where their client is a principal, they'd be out of a job, it's that serious. If your lawyer gets caught taking a gift from your spouse while they're representing you in a divorce - game over. If you're buying a house and then you find out that the homeowner gave your realtor a $20K car just before you bought it, would you wonder if they convinced you to pay a jacked-up price? If you could prove they got that car as a gift, they'd lose their license to sell real estate. Trump bashers are naive and stupid. Trudeau supporters actually are naive and incredibly stupid. He hasn't touched on a single issue as PM and not screwed up royally. -

The idiot who wrote that article just doesn’t understand what’s going on. 1) Virus deaths peaked on April 21 so the April turnaround wasn’t a lie. 2) Suicide deaths vs octogenarian deaths is not a straight comp. Ask any 80 yr old if they’d rather die or have one of their kids die, or grandkids. Anyone who doesn’t choose death should be dead. 3) 47,000 suicides in a year is bad, Trump is trying to avoid a 100k year, or a 200k year. Foreclosures, substance abuse, business closures, unemployment and general economic chaos are huge drivers for suicide and obviously homelessness. Homelessness also causes deaths which aren’t classified “suicides” but all of those deaths are attributable to the same economic hardships. I didn’t read the rest of that article. It’s crapaganda. -

“More efficient fuel sources” is something from Star trek, unless you want to build more nuclear reactors. Wind farms aren’t a success. Solar energy isn’t a smashing success. What green energy sources are you proposing to replace coal and oil? -

You should choose TV networks that value the opinions of experts more than 9 year olds. On left wing tv everything happens in a vacuum. No dissenting opinions are allowed. CNN/CBC viewers would rather hear from a brainwashed 9 year old than an actual professional with a dissenting opinion. "BUURRRRNNNN THEM!" -

The Chinese govt bought up PPE, lied about the H2H transmission, name-called countries for blocking travel, now they're selling fake N95 masks, and our worthless piece of shit PM is still supporting China. We're also supporting the WHO despite the fact that they only have 1 job to do on this whole planet which is to give good advice during viral outbreaks, they have years to prepare for it, get billions of dollars for it, and then when that one thing happens they give advice so bad that 8th graders all over the world were shaking their heads. AAAaaaaannnnnd our worthless piece of shit PM supports the WHO too. My mother in-law still likes him lol. Her kids and I can even talk to her about it or she gets flaky like she's going to have a panic attack. It's just bizarre how well some people can be brainwashed. -

WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If we had done better vs covid in the late winter we would be able to have a reasonable economy now. I'm mostly pissed that travel remained open right up to the point that the whole country had to be completely shut down. It was THE MOST OBVIOUS, BASIC defence to employ. Telling people not to wear masks was stupid, and so was closing the big, wide open parks. Exercise and sunlight are good for people, pandemic or no. Social distancing is just important when you're out. We shouldn't have had to shut down so much, for so long. We should be further alog the re-opening curve. This was a total clusterfork from the word "go". -

WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Instead of calling the travel ban racist he should have done it here. He got on board 45 days after Trump, and even Trump would have done it earlier if he knew what he knows now. He should have recommended that people who have masks, wear them. Even if it's just cotton. It would help with the "say it don't spray it" people or for when people cough or sneeze. That doesn't mean social distancing and all the other things wouldn't be necessary, we'd just be learning from other people's mistakes instead of our own. -

Back to the topic at hand: Canada Population... 38,000,000 Japan Population...... 126,000,000 (3.3x as many people as Canada) Canada pop density.. 4/sq km Japan pop density.... 336/sq km (84x higher than Canada) Tokyo MSA population 38,000,000 (same as Canada) Tokyo MSA pop density 6,158/sq k (1,539x higher than Canada) Canada covid deaths: 5,468 Japan should have 18,000 covid deaths, just based on their population. That's not even taking into account that their pop density is 84x higher than ours. Tokyo alone should have 5,468 just based on their equal population, but with a pop density 1,500x higher they should easily have 10x as many covid deaths. 54,000. Nope. In all of Japan there were 678 covid deaths. What did Japan do better than us? They enacted a travel ban and told their people to wear masks. They even gave them masks. What did Trudeau do? Called travel bans racist and told Canadians not to wear masks. One in 7,000 Canadians died from Covid. One in 186,000 Japanese died from Covid. If Shinzo Abe was our PM we could expect to have 204 Covid deaths, on the HIGH end. 5,264 Canadians would still be alive. 96% of Canadian covid deaths were unnecessary. Trudeau's stupidity resulted in the deaths of 5,264 Canadians. It turns out that there was nothing counter-intuitive at all about the best strategies to fight covid-19. Travel bans and masks, just like a kid in 8th grade would have predicted. In other words, the best path was the exact opposite of the advice from the WHO, which our village idiot just copied & pasted for us. Then Trudeau paid the WHO handsomely for the bad advice that cost us 5,200 lives. In the future we will ask Japan what to do. Yeah, trudeau failed this country miserably. It's 1,000% certain. -

The Dow isn't predictable for you, granted, but the Dow is by predictable by definition because it's based on the moves of investors. The DJ is greatly influenced by things like pandemics, new presidents, crop shortages, etc. Sometimes things like covid come up which the average investor doesn't expect, but the effect of those kinds of things is 100% predictable. FYI the number 9700 isn't that significant. The Dow was at 14,000 just before the crash. For it to get back there was not surprising at all. 9700 would be extremely significant if that was the all time high, or if it was steady there for a few years, but it was at 13,000 in May. 9700 was a blip, based on the '08 crash. What go the US out of that crash was the second stimulus pkg that G.W.Bush tried to get passed. At the end of the day, Obama got the DJ 4,000 points higher than it was at the end of 2007, and he did that over the course of 8 years, that's it. It was up 11,000 in 3 years under Trump. So, it went up 500 per year under Obama and 3,666 per year under Trump. Over 7x as much. Trump did things with the economy that Obama, in all his wisdom, thought were impossible. He said "There's no magic wand". He was correct about that, but he underestimated the effect that a good president would have on jobs and the economy. -
https://www.cbsnews.com/video/congressman-devin-nunes-gives-statement-on-mueller-testimony/ For those of you who think that "Obamagate" is new. There is new info being de-classified now about the illegal unmasking of Ret Gen Flynn and the leaking of his phone conversations, so the buzzards are circling closer above Comey and Obama now, but it's just further proof of things that have been correctly reported on for 3 years now. Obama was warned about Russia's desire to influence the election back in 2014 but ignored it https://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/devin-nunes-russia-cyberattacks-obama-232433 https://www.foxnews.com/politics/republicans-say-obama-failed-to-act-on-russian-threat-after-indictment

Blah, blah, blah. You wouldn't admit that Obama's dog shit on your lawn if you stepped in it and then tasted it. If Trump mowed you lawn while you watched him you'd say that it was a continuation of Obama's rioting & looting economy. Here's proof that you're just stupid: DJ Av Dec 5 2014 17,958 DJ Avg Nov 1 2016 18,037 in the last 2 full years under Obama, the Dow Jones went up 39 points. That's pretty good considering that the US was experiencing widespread rioting, looting, arson and cop-killing. In the next two years the DJA went up by 8,500 points. Maybe 8,539 points, who knows? The tens and ones aren't significant digits in a number that large. -

The covid crisis isn't being downplayed, they spend 12 hours a day talking about it on Fox. FYI Fox News has been talking about covid for a lot longer than the Dems and their MSM and they're still covering it. January and February on CNN et al was all about Russian collusion, Ukrainian collusion and the Dem Primaries. Go look for yourself. At the debates they only asked 1 covid question and the debated went to mid-February. An example of downplaying something is CBC's coverage of LavScam, which was lukewarm and omitted coverage of the fact that SNC Lavalin has a criminal history of bribing Liberal politicians in Canada. They also didn't make much noise about the fact that MP's were forbidden to co-operate with the RCMP and that the PM was punching down on the AG after he fired her, and she was forbidden to speak in her own defence because of client privilege. Obamagate isn't new at all, it's 3 years old (march 2017 they were talking about it), you're just hearing about it now because the "news" you watch didn't notice FBI members being fired and demoted for malfeasance. It wasn't "news" (it ran contrary to their narrative). -

WestCanMan replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Strzok wasn't a "low-level guy". The AG recused himself simply because he had been in contact with Russian officials and so he was part of the investigation. There's nothing incriminating about that. It would be more inappropriate for him to be the head of the investigation when he was a subject in it. -

https://www.whitehouse.gov/trump-administration-accomplishments/ As of September 2018 Almost 4 million jobs created since election. More Americans are now employed than ever recorded before in our history. We have created more than 400,000 manufacturing jobs since my election. Manufacturing jobs growing at the fastest rate in more than THREE DECADES. Economic growth last quarter hit 4.2 percent. New unemployment claims recently hit a 49-year low. Median household income has hit highest level ever recorded. African-American unemployment has recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded. Almost 3.9 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps since the election. The Pledge to America’s Workers has resulted in employers committing to train more than 4 million Americans. We are committed to VOCATIONAL education. 95 percent of U.S. manufacturers are optimistic about the future—the highest ever. Retail sales surged last month, up another 6 percent over last year. Signed the biggest package of tax cuts and reforms in history. After tax cuts, over $300 billion poured back in to the U.S. in the first quarter alone. As a result of our tax bill, small businesses will have the lowest top marginal tax rate in more than 80 years. Helped win U.S. bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Helped win U.S.-Mexico-Canada’s united bid for 2026 World Cup. Opened ANWR and approved Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines. Record number of regulations eliminated. Enacted regulatory relief for community banks and credit unions. Obamacare individual mandate penalty GONE. My Administration is providing more affordable healthcare options for Americans through association health plans and short-term duration plans. Last month, the FDA approved more affordable generic drugs than ever before in history. And thanks to our efforts, many drug companies are freezing or reversing planned price increases. We reformed the Medicare program to stop hospitals from overcharging low-income seniors on their drugs—saving seniors hundreds of millions of dollars this year alone. Signed Right-To-Try legislation. Secured $6 billion in NEW funding to fight the opioid epidemic. We have reduced high-dose opioid prescriptions by 16 percent during my first year in office. Signed VA Choice Act and VA Accountability Act, expanded VA telehealth services, walk-in-clinics, and same-day urgent primary and mental health care. Increased our coal exports by 60 percent; U.S. oil production recently reached all-time high. United States is a net natural gas exporter for the first time since 1957. Withdrew the United States from the job-killing Paris Climate Accord. Cancelled the illegal, anti-coal, so-called Clean Power Plan. Secured record $700 billion in military funding; $716 billion next year. NATO allies are spending $69 billion more on defense since 2016. Process has begun to make the Space Force the 6th branch of the Armed Forces. Confirmed more circuit court judges than any other new administration. Confirmed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Withdrew from the horrible, one-sided Iran Deal. Moved U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Protecting Americans from terrorists with the Travel Ban, upheld by Supreme Court. Issued Executive Order to keep open Guantanamo Bay. Concluded a historic U.S.-Mexico Trade Deal to replace NAFTA. And negotiations with Canada are underway as we speak. Reached a breakthrough agreement with the E.U. to increase U.S. exports. Imposed tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum to protect our national security. Imposed tariffs on China in response to China’s forced technology transfer, intellectual property theft, and their chronically abusive trade practices. Net exports are on track to increase by $59 billion this year. Improved vetting and screening for refugees, and switched focus to overseas resettlement. We have begun BUILDING THE WALL. Republicans want STRONG BORDERS and NO CRIME. Democrats want OPEN BORDERS which equals MASSIVE CRIME. -

The Russians didn't just "support Trump" in 2016, they also "supported Hillary". They did it by posting negative attack ads on both to sow discord, the Dems were completely sucked in, and it resulted in a 3 yr long witch-hunt. I have no doubt that you're right, there are people on this forum whose job it is to divide people as well. Sadly, I actually know 5 people who comletely buy into all the CNN douche-baggery. It's scary how resistant to facts they are. My wife's cousin is married to a guy who you'd think would be a total Trump supporter. He hangs out down in Arizona with his gun-buddies, quadding & killing things, drinks too much beer, listens to country music, wears a cowboy hat, then he recites CNN's "facts" like a manchurian candidate lol. It's tough because my wife really likes her cousin, but her cousin's husband is a drooling moron.

1) The dossier was started by Republicans, but that's not to say what was in it when Hillary took over. The never used it so they obviously didn't find anything of value. 2) Trump provided millions of pages, his team did 100's of interviews, he did enough, considering that he has a country to run, and how much of a gongshow it was at the end of Obama's last term. Hillary always ignores subpoenas, and she has gone into two separate FBI interrogations and said nothing but "I don't remember" over 100 times. When a Dem gets into the Whitehouse should there be a 3 yr-long smear campaign disguised as an investigation? -
