  1. People are trained to be scared of terrorist attacks, it's the "don't look at all the killing the Israelis are doing, look at how bad crazy Muslims are" card that's played over and over by the media. The worst one was when the "6 Arab terrorists tried to board a plane in England" that caused us to limit the amount of fluids we could carry on a plane. CNN was bombarding the tv with terrorism in bold headlines, on the ticker, and verbally 24/7. Meanwhile Israeli tanks, helicopters, apc's, etc were unleashing another barrage against civilians with the eyes of America distracted. I have my doubts if that the terrorist was real, there was just way too much focus on it compared the actual war that was going on.The terrorist threat is real enough now tho, thanks to Israel and the U.S. If you want to spend money you don't need to throw it in every direction chasing problems which are basically just symptoms of one disease. we live in an alcohol-charged culture. You can't watch a movie, a sporting event, or do basically anything where alcohol isn't revered, endorsed, expected, etc. it brings out the worst in every situation and its looked at as the cure. Someone died, drink! Someone got promoted, drink! Having a bad day, you need a drink. Good day, celebrate with a drink. Hard days work you earned a drink. Nice meal, nice wine. Watch any movie and see how many times and how many different ways they promote booze.Don't expect anything to get better here until people have a better understanding of what problem drinking is. But that's not the answer anyone is looking for. We want a pill, or social programs targeting the fallout. Money spent on csis is well enough spent, but domestically we could improve our situation for free with a more mature approach to drinking.
  2. Are you saying that overspending on an election campaign is as bad as the things that Cretien did reefermadness? You're comparing apples and oranges. Trudeau is crying that the Harper govt is too fixated on the oil sector and in the background his top aides are paving the way for lobbyists from that sector.
  3. You answered those questions with a combination of lies and accusations. Are you an elected MP?
  4. You are trying to shift blame from the person who committed the act to the person who informed against him. You would have been better off saying nothing. It's viewed as a stalling tactic. The liberal party itself has moved past the point of denying any wrongdoing, they are trying to pass it off as an isolated incident. Its's their style? That's ripe. The liberals just spent three years acting as if $90,000 in bogus travel expenses was the most important thing happening on the face of the earth.
  5. Can you comment on whether or not you are aware of the level of corruption in that liberal government? Trudeau should be, but he has Chrétien on the podium with him.
  6. So the liberals start out saying he did nothing wrong, now they admit that he was a scumbag, but Trudeau is saying this morning that Gaigner was as pure as the driven snow for the last 6 months but he suddenly did one really bad thing right out of the blue. Is he stupid enough to believe that or is he just a liar? Are 35% of Canadians really dumb enough to believe him?
  7. making money from a foreign country is different from making money from a charity at home, where you are already on the public payroll.
  8. wow what a coincidence. Most people in this country are old stock Canadians. Difference being that old stock Canadians don't coordinate their killings with people from overseas, or need automatic weapons etc. Every country has domestic murders and if you are trying to insinuate in some way that we do more than our share of killing fellow citizens than the countries that are associated with terrorism then that's way off topic and I will just agree to disagree with you.
  9. Trudeau doesn't think we need new fighter planes, that's a huge handicap for our armed forces down the road. If the situation arises where we do need them how long will the waiting list be? What will the time frame be, and the cost, if we can get them at all? He will be judged one day in hindsight and I don't think he has the foresight for this world.
  10. I agree with most of this post, but I am still honestly concerned about a Trudeau victory. Not nearly as much as an ndp victory, which is basically the death knell for business in this country. Trudeau is facing a world of hard choices that he is woefully unprepared for. It's easy to say that personal rights and freedoms are the be-all, end-all, but when you're faced with protecting 49 bajillion square miles of this country from internal attacks you will be really interested in knowing what certain people are saying in their texts, emails, etc.
  11. and I think it represents how far the ndp and liberals are willing to stoop for a bit of political gain.I honestly believe that the "opposition" has a greater responsibility than just bitching and complaining every chance they get. Imo they turned parliament into a sandbox.
  12. You can have your own opinion TB, unless of course Trudeau gets elected. The way I see it is they see the Trudeau name as their meal ticket and they're willing to overlook anything for a few more seats.
  13. ok, you got me on Ford brothers. Still, Trudeau brought out shawinigate-man so that almost evens the score on that front.Talk about lying, all the liberals have done for three years is say that the most important thing happening in the world was duffygate. They turn every parliament session into a witch hunt over some chump change from back in the day. I watch the news every day and I'm so sick of hearing mulcair and Trudeau cry I wanna scream.
  14. Trading with the Chinese is not a crime the last time I checked. They have the second largest economy on earth, and I never advocated a head in the sand approach to running the country or managing the economy. I just think it's a little odd/alarming for the leader of a major political party in Canada to pronounce his admiration for a communist govt with such a brutal track record for human rights violations. ToadBrother, is it no big deal to you that he said that, or that he publicly abolished democracy within the liberal party regarding the abortion issue?
  15. Trudeau is appealing to the malcontents of the country who wandered around our high schools saying "I hate cops" for no good reason and that's literally the only play he's got. "Let's legalize weed and get rid of the current govt, because what have they done for you?" Honestly he's running around now saying that if Harper gets a minority govt he's going to do everything he can to grind the country to a halt and force another election. Is that the kind of maturity that you want in a leader? Seriously answer that question or don't bother replying to this post.
  16. imo being anti-democracy is evil. Trudeau publicly admired the Chinese govts ability to do whatever it wants, and then he openly banned the expression of a popular opinion in the liberal party. You can easily follow up on those facts in one second with Google. Has Harper ever done anything remotely as stupid in ten years with cameras on him day in, day out? Trudeau has been in the spotlight for a fraction of the time. There's no cure for stupid. We will see more and more of this from Trudeau over the years, just pay closer attention.
  17. Isn't it a bit late in the game for you to not have noticed?
  18. Trudeau isn't necessarily pro-terrorism, he's just so lacking in wisdom and intelligence that he always says and does things without thinking them through. Even if there was no such thing as religion Trudeau would be a terrible choice for a leader.
  19. He's like a modern day Robin Hood, taking money from the poor and giving it to himself. Am I right?More like taking tax breaks and taxes from the rich and giving them to the people lower on rhe socioeconomic ladder. I expect that is really what bothers Conservatives about him. In your own words: Dialama, you get one point. I didn't explain exactly what was different between Harper outing someone for saying something utterly retarded, and Justin Trudeau saying that no one is allowed to run for election as a federal liberal unless they share his views on abortion. I honestly thought it was blatantly obvious but now you "should" know the difference between the two. Outside of that you dodge, evade, and throw out straw men on every point. Eg, the vote is split three ways, just like it has been in every election for as long as I have been alive. And yes Trudeau did exactly take money from the poor and give it to himself, if he gives tax money back to Canadians that doesn't take away from that fact because it's not his own money that he would be giving away. But whatever, there's no reasoning with you.
  20. The easiest thing in the world to do is to make promises as the leader of the opposition. No one can hold you accountable for all the things that you're not going to do in the future.Harper ran the country through some very difficult times and he's being held accountable for what? Basically getting us through unscathed.
  21. Don change think --> doncha think iPad spellchecker got me. Pressed for time.
  22. its on point, when you consider the close relationship between Trudeau and Trudeau. Don change think? Good grief. Are you serious? Go vote for the liberals, there's no curing what you've got. trudeaus govt isn't wanted by the majority of Canadians, neither is mulcair's. It's a three dog race. Do you really need me to explain to you how that works? if a man is elected to parliament he has a responsibility to Canadians to do his best for this country. That's it. Not to try and thwart the entire system and get another vote so that they can have a redo. This ship can't go rudderless indefinitely. If those idiots carry out their plan to bring this country back to another election then they need to man up and give up the leadership of their parties. am I supposed to say "yay, one point for Trudeau"? Lmao, you are still at zero. "he drove a second hand car, therefor he can run a country." I'm pretty sure there's a logical fallacy there somewhere. he chose a career in politics, so we should make him pm. You're still at zero points. More like he took the path of least resistance. With his name he was basically slingshotted into the leadership of the liberals. He was born on third base and you act like he hit a triple. why did he make so much money in his speaker career when he says so many utterly stupid things? Is it because people think he has something valuable to say, or because of his famous daddy? His whole career is an inheritance from his daddy, I don't know how you don't see that.In case you forgot, he was also taking a lot of money from charitable organizations as a speaker when he was employed by the federal liberals. He's like a modern day Robin Hood, taking money from the poor and giving it to himself. Am I right? Can I be a liberal? you are a true liberal.
  23. So you don't see the irony of a Trudeau talking about senate scandals, or bringing the dirtiest pm of the last century on his campaign. Not much I can do for ya Waldo. To people with their eyes wide open its good for a laugh.L'Affaire Duffy is much ado about nothing, but the liberals and ndp cling to it like a drowning man clutching a piece of straw. For a govt with a country to run plus major concerns on the international stage to contend with diffy is not even a blip on the radar. He was appointed as an actual senator and no one even questions the fact that he did what little work they actually do. A major scandal is when the leader of a political party officially and openly bans a widely held opinion nationwide. Go ahead and vote for that guy Waldo. The same guy whose campaign promise is to take his ball and go home with it if Harper gets a minority govt. Really mature of him to try and sidetrack our democracy yet again. Can you tell me three good things about Trudeau? Honestly? I don't think Harper is the ideal leader for Canada. I don't think we should blindly support Israel, it's disgusting. But we have three choices. I think it would be a huge mistake to make Trudeau or mulcair pm. --> "Village idiot for mayor".
