  1. BM You and Adler are a prefect fit for the Western Block party. Don't let us keep you from signing up!
  2. Here you are Westerners, all of you who hate Canada, and everything it represents, here is the perfect vehicle for you. You can be the Western Bloc party, and maybe down the line you can merge with the Bloc Quebecois. Anyway put your money where your mouth is, let's see a little action instead of all that talk, eh!
  3. What an absurd statement to make about someone who is dead and buried. As one of the previous posters said, it is time to get over it. People who live in the past die of remorse.
  4. Well for starters most women won't touch this stuff because of the overly aggressive nature of the people that frequent these places. Secondly the anonymous poster can act any way they wish which they might never ever do, or say, in real life, so everything needs to be taken with more than one grain of salt. There are lots of other reasons as well.
  5. Hans Island, now that's a good suggestion, otherwise how about Toronto?
  6. Quebecers have already voted twice within the past 25 years to stay as part of Canada with rigged questions, and rigged voting, which we have all read and heard about. But hey, anytime they wish to vote again, best out of five referendums, let's go for it!
  7. I really don't know what you are on about. Is it the people who live in the Atlantic Region's fault because they live in a different time zone than I do? I mean if that is a complaint there is nothing I can do to help them, without altering the earth's rotation around the sun, and I would rather not try that. Democratic Deficit - which means what? PR? Is that a Western vs Eastern issue? Not that I have ever heard.
  8. CES Please tell me what are the French injustices for Quebecers living in Canada today.
  9. Welcome to the Western Block Party This tells me one thing, that the Liberals are certain to be relected, probably forever. How dumb can you be!
  10. Listen pal, I grew up in Quebec, and yes the francophones at the time had some legitimate grievances, BUT, and that's big BUT, Trudeau got elected and reversed those injustices. Enough from Quebec already, they are very privileged to be part of Canada. As far as the West is concerned they whine about being left out of the corridors of power yet they don't really participate in federal politics. Economic times have changed in the West and life is good now. I know because that is where I live. and to suggest that the West is all conservative is nonsense - there is one Lib, one Con, and two NDP provincial gov'ts. And they latest federal seat projections show the liberals sweeping BC. Albertans, like Quebecers, if they were smart would vote for the party that is going to form the gov't. The rest of the country is tired of hearing these two groups whine about their own stupidity.
  11. Recently there was a report about what big whiners Canadians are, perthaps 4th highest in the world. I can believe it. Most of the rest of the people on the planet would love to live here. What's wrong with these Canadian malcontents? Are they defective? Are they missing a gene, or something? Anyway they are a big pain in the butt to the rest of us, and I was thinking where could we send them, what part of Canada should we deport them to, until such time they come to their senses. Is there some place in Northern Quebec, or Northern BC, or perhaps on Baffin Island, where these trouble makers could be housed and feed, and schooled, so that we would not have to hear their wailing any more?
  12. Hawk Good riddance. Bye! PS Don't forget to turn your Canadian passport in at the gate.
  13. This should never have been allowed to get into the private sector hands who do nothing else but rip off Canadians from coast to coast. If we had a government in Ottawa that really represented Canadians, rather than their corporate buddies, they would put a stop to this overnite.
  14. Hawk.......stop feeling so persecuted. You have it good and the whining here at mapleafweb about Canada is unbelievable, and makes me want to puke. If there is a group of people that are oppresed in Canada it is the poor, but who is ever going to speak up for them.
  15. Doesn't look good! Summer of Our Discontent
  16. I agree. Good ole corporate greed and in collusion with our Canadian governments here.
  17. August Anything that I can recollect you saying about Canada has come across as negativity to me. You are very welcome to that point of view, and it does not make you a bad Canadian for thinking that way. I just cannot understand why Canadians, the privileged people that live here in Canada, are so consistently critical of our society and its institutions. But that's just me. PS Toro I like your current signature!
  18. This teckie is onto something. The DJIA closed below 10,400 today. I wonder if this really is the beginning of a major downward spiral!
  19. Actually the last I heard the Bank of Canada is going to raising interest rates on Sept 7. August has a tendancy to see anything Canadian in a negative light.
  20. I miss trudeau Let's have your comments to offset such a huge distortion of what Trudeau did for Canada. Sir Spanky, if you think the comments here are representative of most Canadian's viewpoint about Trudeau you will be sadly mistaken. Basically you have heard comments from separatists and conservatives, people on the margins of Canadian society, both groups of course which were severely defeated by Trudeau and his supporters, the vast majority of Canadians.
  21. How quickly we forget! Recently a media outlet did a poll amonst Canadians asking their choice about who was the "greatest Canadian". Tommy Douglas, NDP Premier of Saskatchewan, and Founder of Canada's SINGLE-TIER PUBLCALLY FUNDED Medicare system was the winner. I defy any political party to run on a platform of opposing single-tier publically funded heath care for Canada. They will get blown out of the water opposing the single most important value of Canadians. As I have said before the NDP have policies they want Canadians to discuss but can't get them to do it, whereas the Tories have policies they don't want Canadians to discuss, but Canadians insist on doing it.
  22. I also thought that the projections for BC showing so many Liberal seats was a tad optomistic for them. What I really like about the DS forecaster though is that you can actually see the projections for each seat.
  23. The DS election predictor which is the best forecaster I have seen to date is forecasting 2 seats for the Liberals in Alberta - Edmontre Centre, and Edmonton - Mill Woods - Beaumont, and the other 26 seats going PC. What do Edmontoians and/or Albertans think about this?
