Chretien says LPC and NDP should merge
WWWTT replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
At the next NDP convention forward a motion for the NDP to enter merger talks with the liberals.Or have it done through your riding association.Either way get ready for a huge fight when debate opens on the floor! Good luck! WWWTT -
Kenney says you can't get EI if you turndown work.
WWWTT replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes but there are people who pay less into it than they recieve. I agree with everything you are saying here, but when times are tuff EI helps! WWWTT -

I believe the system we have now works very well. Paul Martins restrictions during the 90's pretty much weeded out as many abusers as can be possible. There will always be abusers in any field, but any further creative restrictions will hurt much more than help. WWWTT -

Actually I believe the conservatives want to bring in thousands of Asians because they will be easier to exploit! WWWTT -
If you have had something to drink but can still remember to navigate a clear passage home then maybe you can still properly operate a motor vehicle? WWWTT

Hey I am only stating why I will not participate in this poll. And I do not believe you can decriminalize or legalize anything like marihuana or cocaine, etc, etc without ever at least mentioning drug abuse or addiction! They are integrally intertwined for forever. This is purely a health issue.I believe the core issue you are trying to get at is that these substances should have never been dealt with through the justice system in the first place.Obviously there will always be a certain involvement though our judicial process but never to the extent as we have seen around the world! As far as starting another thread about the health issues is a good idea however will require expensive time. WWWTT

I refuse to participate in this poll! The reason why is because the last question asks if you ever did recreational drugs except for alcohol and/or tobacco. This is a flawed poll since alcohol and tobacco are drugs(legal ones)Aswell many prescription drugs are legal and can be used for recreation. Caffeine and food can be abused too!Or can be used as would a recreation drug so therefore would fall in a similar category. Plus this poll does not address any health issues. WWWTT

Maybe? They are very addictive to some people. WWWTT

When I was at the convention I met many of the winners for the NDP WWWTT

I think Harper is starting to catch foot in mouth disease or something. Aswell "The war on drugs" is an odd statement.Drugs are inanimate objects created by humans. Maybe he means the war on drug dealers?Or drug manufacturers?Or drug users?Or maybe the idea or culture that believes in such? WWWTT

Tell that to people who did jail time for smoking pot Tell that to women Tell that to people from alternative lifestyles. Tell that to natives. And tell that to any minority. Tell that to anyone who basically does not come from the 1% WWWTT -
Is Stephen Harper Encouraging Judicial Activism?
WWWTT replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Actually Harper did not do anything to change the constitution so technically the judges are acting well within their mandate! If somehow you were under the impression that an act of parliament can somehow sweep away constitutional rights then that was a failure of misunderstanding on your part! If Harper really wants to effectively implement his new judicial mandate then he can always try to make constitutional change or implements parts thereof to enforce. Its his political funeral if he tries! Funny how that it is only in most cases the liberals that want merger. WWWTT -
Is Stephen Harper Encouraging Judicial Activism?
WWWTT replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is false! First off the government can not create any law that they may seem is fashionable or popular and expect judges to rubber stamp them. When many laws are created they must be able to stand up in a court of law against many challenges against its legitimacy. Are you suggesting that we throw out our judicial system because you disagree with the findings of a few judges? WWWTT -
Thats not the word I heard. This is a good time to get a couple things thrown our way. WWWTT

Possibly? We'll see after the next provincial election. The liberals don't want to go to the polls yet but perhaps 2013??? WWWTT

As promised after this convention here's my take on it. First off Sid Ryan made several passionate speeches about the liberals going too far on corporate tax cuts and that we should lobby the government to reverse them to help pay for necessary programs.I agree! We said farewell to outgoing provincial NDP president Sarah Clifford. She came over from the OFL and maintained the traditional labour voice in the NDP. Congradulations to Neethan Shan for winning the parties presidency! It was a tight one with Andrew MacKenzie. There was many other positions up for election aswell. This weekend all the MPP's were showcased and Horwath won a strong confidence vote. Since the NDP is the most democratic party we spent a great deal of time voting on motions, referalls, etc, etc. The convention was topped off with a speech from Mulcair! As always I was frantic all weekend working the floor making new contacts.Chalk another one up for WWWTT! WWWTT

Grand Funk Railroad. I'm your captain/I'm getting closer to my home. This I believe was always intended to be just one song. However many radio stations enjoyed the fact that long songs cost the same amount as short ones in royalties but filled in much more air time.So many bands of the time(late sixties/seventies) started to name their songs differently so as to collect more royalties. But trying to rename your songs had a negative effect. And radio stations would still favour songs that were longer for the same royalty fee.Hence the success of Pink Floyd and Dark side of the Moon(5 or 6 songs over 3 minutes long). I'm not sure if this still applies now? WWWTT

Oh no not another allegedly "different" F-35 thread! The only reason why I even make this comment is because I wasted my time clicking on it.If it was appropriately titled I would not have been dissapointed. WWWTT

Why conservatives want tougher laws and less immigration
WWWTT replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ya so what? The Canadian constitution clearly states that we all have the right to freedom of expression! This includes the right the practice your own religion and traditions. Its funny that many in Canada that do not want foreigners to live here but want to adopt intolerant policy that some foreign countries have. WWWTT -
Why conservatives want tougher laws and less immigration
WWWTT replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You are aware of how many years it takes for new immigrants to come to Canada aren't you? We can be in the middle of a deep recession when an immigration application starts and with wait times/proccessing times the new immigrants will not be here until we are well into a strong boom in our economy! I would be very cautious of knee jerk reactions! WWWTT
