    I agree, drug use shouldn't be encouraged. There are instances where medicinal marijuana are indicated though.I also don't believe pot should be a criminal charge. many young ppl have a record for substances that are less harmful than alcohol. I have lost many friends to addiction. I was never happy because they were just a junkie who died. The cost of safe sites is minimal compared to the cost of treating diseases spread by needles. Overdoses take professionals off the front lines. The ppl dying may have been friends or loved ones. on this point, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

    Clearly, it's Harpers fault the largest population demographic..baby boomers..are headwd or into retirement age right now. Huge strain on the resources and less ppl to help fill the coffers. Damn that Harper for the millions of ppl having babies from 1945-1965. And damn that ppl aren't dying as early as they used to, working into their seventies and clinging g onto life into their eighties and nineties.     $1500 a year for forty years, collectible when you are 65, if you have contributed for those forty years. Net you get is 6 grand a year. This is not a tax, like mcGuintys health tax of a thou a year that wasn't a tax. Can I get a nuclear face palm? I am soooo glad I have a defined benefit plan and am escaping ontario when I retire.

    Sorry, how does pot have anything to do with hard drugs and addiction? Clearly, incontrovertibly, weed is not a gateway drug, or most of North America and the rest of the world would be on the nod right now. Their stance on harm reduction is even more frightening. I can understand the NIMBYism of ppl not wanting safe sites I. Their neighbourhood. On the other hand, helping decrease crime, overdoses, and disease helps everyone.

The EPA states pound for pound methane is 25 times worse over a hundred year period than CO2. number one source of methane? Industrial farming. Easy to legislate a reduction by legislating industrial farming, but clearly no political will for that.
