  1. So what is democracy if not majority dominance? And majority dominance is not a great term, btw. We live in a democracy, which, literally states, "a state of society characterized by formal equality of rights and privileges". I don't want "sameness'. I want equal rights though. democracy [dih-mok-ruh-see] Examples Word Origin noun, plural democracies. 1. government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system. 2. a state having such a form of government: The United States and Canada are democracies. 3. a state of society characterized by formal equality of rights and privileges. 4. political or social equality; democratic spirit. 5. the common people of a community as distinguished from any privileged class; the common people with respect to their political power.
  2. "And in my experience, those who latch onto 'sameness' are using it as a cover for majority dominance." I believe that is called democracy. Have you read the June 22/2015 Macleans special feature titled Indigenous Development,. It chronicles several success stories, including how a reserve, Penticton Indian Band, used an economic development plan to reduce unemployment from 60% to 20% and helped infrastructure, including building a new health centre and upgrading their school. They had a plan and followed it. There is no reason many other FNs cannot follow suit.
  3. I agree that the company needs to be competent. Every story I've read has not mentioned that Hike Metal is not competent or able to handle a job of this size. http://hikemetalboatshipvesselbuilders.com/
  4. lol What? Again, I don't understand your logic. Sorry. Your analogy does not even relate in any sense of word. Can you explain why these jobs shouldn't have stayed in Ontario? I take it you are a Wynne supporter. Fair enough, I guess, but your analogies need to correspond to the context of the comment.
  5. What? Our manufacturing sector is in dire need of jobs. Why not give the job to Onatarians? The ferry is paid for by Ontarians, is uses by Ontarians, yet she gives the contract to Chile? I'm not sure your point of the Chinese/internet/paper, but why wouldn't you want the jobs and the run offs from those jobs staying in Ontario, where they are desperately needed?
  6. She was calling anybody who didn't agree with her racist. How is that promoting open dialogue?
  7. lol Caues that's what Chretien et al did/do
  8. Why? Because the Libs raped it for 55 billion? I thought they had surpluses due to the extremely stringent requirements needed to collect, brought in by the Liberals. Give us your money, Canadians, but when you need it the most.....
  9. You say arbitrary for Harper. Not for the Libs though. Can't have it both ways. It's a normal function of parliament.
  10. lol This debate has been debated before on here. Liberals have done it the most...
  11. Are you serious? Harper did it to the tune of 1.8 billion. Chretien and Paul Martin raped it to the tune of 55 billion. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/government-broke-law-on-ei-financing-in-3-years-top-court-1.750084
  12. Yes, he was charged with a multitude of other charges, including murder, of which he was found guilty, to which he admitted guilt. You and several others don't care about these facts as it was just some damn "mucicans" what got killed and stuff. However, I was referencing your assertion that "I understand why you think that... I just dont personally care much about it myself. And no... its not an act of treason. Canadians are free to decide where their own allegiances lie." So, my analogy holds up very well against your argument. You are not allowed to arbitrarily decide if you are for or against Canada. Allegiance covers more than just one specific article, in this case a citizen of our country murdering an American. You can extrapolate that to selling secrets, or whatever else, but again, allegiance is not don't murder allies specific, rather don't murder allies inclusive.
  13. lol. Extremist muslims blow shit up. Not their fault. Never their fault. It has to be Bush's fault. Same as the 3000 killed during Ramadan last year.
  14. Dude, get used to it on MLW. I've been arguing that this is effed up, but most on this board support Kadhr and his family. We live in strange times.
  15. You understand how erroneous your thinking is on this, right? I'm Canadian. My allegiance is to xyz (Russia, North Korea, Iran, whomever). I will sell nuclear/military/technical/porn site password information. I am expunged from any treasonous charges or culpability as my allegiance is to whomever I want. Real world doesn't work that way.
  16. Then why were you surprised it was gone? And, yes she did. Again, Michael, whatever. I was commenting on it as it's funny. You and Charles want to get her back, that's cool, but I'm gonna laugh at it
  17. lol..you were the one surprised it wasn't there. And further to your argument...it's now cool if I call x member "fag" because they are a male homosexual? No...of course it isn't. Silly boy.
  18. lol. No. Why? She demands you lock a thread. Charles disappears her inappropriate posts. She calls everyone and anyone whatever she desires with no consequence. Carry on. I think it's funny, to be honest.
  19. Oh, the posts where she demanded you lock the thread as it didn't fit her narrative? Because Argus was a "racist troll" even though there was not an inkling of racism in his post? Odd that that particular post is gone. All her other posts which contain her calling ppl racist are edited on the other Reconciliation thread. Odd. How do posts disappear? Magic?
  20. I commented on your comment commenting on the constitution as it pertains to the constitutions eliciting powers to abuse these groups. Which, of course, is ridiculous. Treating everyone equally, which was the crux of the comment you commented your comment on, is certainly not abuse. It's the way our constitution should be.
  21. This may be worth a point. Umm, Jacee has been calling anyone racist, and even white supremacists who don't cow tow to her ideology, and not a word. NOT ONE WORD from our moderation group. Yet, put Jacee's name in the post, and voila, magical, instatfuckintaneously a mod shows and an edict to end personal attacks appears. Seriously, Charles, are you kidding me?
  22. Treating everybody equally is not abuse.
