Liberal Judges Save Davis - For Now
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
We need an Arnold - McClintock coalition. Arnold should promise this guy to be his 2nd in command, to implement most of his ideas. I don't trust Arnie's liberal side especially his posturing on gay rights, education and health care. They could be cover ups for more spending. -
Hugo is wrong ? Can you provide ONE piece of evidence for that claim ? If not shut up. You take up space and air, and cause pollution.

Extremly poor logic, which does nothing to solve the problems besetting regimes that are being attacked by terrorists or being destroyed by demagogues. According to this appeasement methodology the following leaders should never have been dealt with: -Hitler [the Nazi's might cry and goose step around in anger] -Stalin [the commissar's might get upset and throw borscht] -Mao [the fashion industry would whine, have to love the Mao jacket] -Hussein [France would be angry] -Bin Laden [Al Jazeera would have no news for months] -Mussolini [bald men everywhere would rise up in revolt] -Castro [his starving, unemployed, illiterate people love him too much] -Charles Taylor [swiss banks would object] -Mugabe [Chretien would object] -Arafat [the entire world will be plunged into chaos, and the Arab street will revolt. Okay so this is what we said about Gulf War I, Gulf War II, Afghanistan....but this time dammit it WILL happen er just like Global Cooling, Global Warming etc.] Nice logic. Twit.

He perjured himself. By definition perjury is a crime. So why didn't he step down or why wasn't he removed ?

Merger Proposal Expected Today
Craig Read replied to westcoast99's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As everyone knows the talks failed. I said this before and will say it again - the PCs are far to the left of the CA, Mackay is a pathetic chief, and the Red Tories will not allow their influence to be sacrificed in a new party. The CA should just focus on Reconfederation and its Western base. It is wasting time and energy on these talks. -
Merger Proposal Expected Today
Craig Read replied to westcoast99's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sir Springer, that is an incredible editorial from the Ottawa Citizen. I can't believe such puerile nonsense. I am sure the CBC will follow up with stories of health care in crisis, the homeless, the students who actually must pay to be educated and the seniors starving to death in cold retirement homes. If that passes for reporting in Canada then the climate against common sense is worse than I feared. -
What Would You Have Done?
Craig Read replied to Nuclear's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
But gentleman what about love ? Post modern internationalism ? Dancing lessons and Gay Marriage ? National DayCare ? Socialised Health Care ? What about the trees, the aliens and the whales ? What about Yoga classes and New Age music and shitty movies from Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins ? Can't we all just love each other ? After all the Russians [and the Iraqi's and the NK's] loved and love their children too ? Can't we just have a big group hug to understand root causes ? Isn't that what John Lennon preached ? Love Love Love. Isn't he the great hero of the stoned generation ? Isn't that what the worthy Bill Clinton was trying to tell us - just love humanity and they will love you back ? -
Grasso And Gross Out Pay At Nyse
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Government regulated and managed cronyism. Tyco, World Com, Enron - they all operated in gov't controlled and regulated sectors and they all had deep relationships with both parties. Are we actually surprised at their malfeasance ? Same for the NYSE - Grasso is a criminal - there is no doubt he stole the retained earnings of a regulator. He should go to jail. I am happy to see that clown McCall resign - he was Chairman of the Comp Committee. I got sick of him defending Grasso's pay package. This man has zero common sense and is arrogant to the point of blindness. -
In the real world men and women determine events and channel society into certain directions. Arafat -an ugly Egyptian- has turned the Palestinian cause into a war - profiting well from the conflicts he perpetrated. He is a despot, an anti-liberal, the worst sort of posturing Roman style Senator and Demagogue. He must be dispatched. Force shown and used against the PA will by necessity rearrange the balance of power against those Palestinians who advocate and abet criminal violence. Arafat is simply a criminal and terrorist and must be killed.

The entire Board needs to resign and the BBC privatised. The era of 'Nazi' television apparently ended in 1945.

Us Managed Trade - Not A Good Idea
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in The Rest of the World
You understand almost nothing about economics. By forcing a currency to revalue or devalue you are affecting domestically: 1. Inflation - money will be printed 2. Interest rates will increase 3. Disposable income rates drop. This is bad for the economy not good. The US is posturing to appease domestic interests - China and Japan need stable currencies not depreciating currencies. Bush is caving in to domestic political pressure not sound economics. Bashing China and helping exporters who fund the Bush campaign - both to win votes - is behind the decision. Like I told you many times before RB you don't understand economics. -
KK, great news feeds. I wonder if the CBC and CNN will dare to air those news pieces. They are priceless. You da man KK! And I am awaiting on the timing of the WMD evidence. Should be timed just perfectly to knock the snotty little Clark on his arse, the 4 Star General who likes to bomb civilians from 30.000 feet....what a hero.

True, Ralph is a spender that is for sure. I would not classify him as a true conservative, though given the options he would be preferable to the Liberals. I read that non-discretionary spending is up 50 % vs. 10 years ago. This is insane. Population pressure, some inflation and perhaps infrastructure build can account for some of this increase, but this is just loose fiscal policy and should be stopped. Federally for the Conservatives I think Pellaken should throw off his NDP cape and make the move over. Pell is the self annointed genius and PEI commentator. I believe that the PEI model has so much to offer Canada......Maybe Pell can reform the country based on the PEI experience. After all the Farm is a wonderful place to live. Go Pell Go !

According to Nova 'the Left is always right' - the debate is not about science. Like Global warming the debate is about the left's version of morality. In the GW debate, modernity, the white man, profits and technology are bad. In the Gay debate, heterosexuality, the family, liberal constitutions and socially acceptable behaviour is passe. [for the illiterate like Nova, that means out of date]. According to the Nova's of the world - we are post modern - nothing in the past can teach us about the brave new world we are in. Any argument you raise against this specious idea is shouted down with no facts, history, or evidence just with "Cela n'a rien a voir." I doubt the left wing illiterates can translate that either. But they will support it because it is French !

KK, direct hit !! Awesome post. I am sure the snivelling Liberals will disavow their own demagogues speeches. Bullseye.

Terminator As Governor/saviour ?
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Amen brother. In other words DON'T move to Mexifornia - unless your name is Juan Rodriguez and you demand extra-legal rights and money and you feel entitled to blame stupid white men for the world's misery. Then by all means RUN to Mexi-fornia and join the mindlessness of Lie-beralism. -
Clark, Can He Win?
Craig Read replied to nova_satori's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Clark is another clown. 2 years ago he gave speeches extolling Reagan and Bush. One year ago he said he was fully behing GW. CNN asks him for his dumb ideas and suddenly he believes he knows foreign policy better than the CIA, the State dept and the Pentagon. Please Wesley, spare me your 'We CAN'T win' drivel. He was wrong on Iraq. Period. End of story. That alone finishes him. Why would you vote for some whiny little guy who bombs civilians from 30.000 feet and blames everyone else for the fact that the Serb military was hardly touched. Last time i checked Wesley was in charge. Why would you vote for some whiny little anti-American Michael Moore type personality ? There is no reason, and Wesley who has spent his entire career in the military offers no solutions for socio-economic issues. He is just another empty suit. If he wins the Dumbo crud nomination he will lose by 39 states to 11. -
Democratic Lies 2001-2003
Craig Read replied to Derek's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well you did not refute one fact I listed. Not one. Gore is as close to being dumb as a politician can get. He is the first VP to lose a Presidential election with such a huge lead and a robust economy [that of course he lied about, but that proves my point], and a Liberal media, including CNN telling us what a smart guy he is !! How can you lose with the media four square behind you and a huge lead in the polls and in money ?? Because Gore is an idiot. That is why and the US peole saw through him. Like they eventually saw through Billy 'Pig Farmer' Clinton. You maintain that Lie-berals like Clinton, Davis, and Gore are good leaders - they are pathetic liars and inactive incompetents. Your comeback is that Bush is a bigger liar. Oh really. Provide one shred of evidence and I guarantee you whatever you provide i can refute with what Bush REALLY said. I have compiled lists of Lie-beral media utterances attributed to George and then researched what he really said - and the 2 rarely match. -
Martin - Just Another Lie-beral
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sure look at Ontario. Eve's election promises would cost $3.5 B. McGuinty's $5 Billion. Lie-beral Howdy Doody McGuinty wants to repeal the corporate tax cuts due to take effect in 2004. This will cost an additional $2.2 Billion and retard business investment. Neither party leader has touched on reforms to health, energy, the tax sharing system between governments, transport, immigration, the waterfront, personal income tax cuts, debt repayment, spending reductions etc. Nothing. Just spend spend spend. Eves finally converted in the debate last week to tax cuts and spending reform. Hey Ernie you are 2 years too late. Bye Ernie. -
I vote for Pellaken.

Yes apparently the French who supported Hussein for 30 years, would rather see another despotic moron killing people and ruining the country. Brilliant idea - let the nation rule itself before it is ready. Not even the Governing Council wants that. And the GC does NOT want the UN involved. At least they show a great degree of common sense in that regard.
-
No, they the BBC spent one year fighting the Blair's gov't - on taxpayer dollars. This is NOT what it was created to do. The entire org and senior management approved the incorrect report. This was also proven in the inquiry. The entire BBC is full of rot. You do live in a different and rather sad world.

Domestic politics in the US forced lend-lease to be the type of deal it was. To understand Roosevelt's actions you have to understand domestic US politics, the election cycle and the belief that Europe was getting what it deserved. US isolationism until 1940 was incredibly strong. Lend Lease was the best Roosevelt could do and Churchill privately was irate over the terms saying he was 'being flayed to the bone'. But I fail to see what Roosevelt could do legally otherwise. Sending the 50 destroyers to Britain contravened at that time, US law.

Ronda, that a girl. Good to see you back, and blowing some steam Like Global Cooling [1975], Global Warming [1996], the Gay Gene [1991] and the genome in particular and genetics in general are topics that few really understand. It is impossible that ONE gene causes anything like sexual orientation. Common sense and world experience dictates that. I had a friend - female - who married, divorced, suffered severe trauma and self esteem loss and at the age of 26 became a lesbian. I know very well her sexual drives before that age - and they were VERY well developed heterosexual ones. Her psychology changed as her self worth and her impressions of men were altered. I doubt that a GENE kicked in at age 26 and send 'yo girlfriend, time to try some fish'. Her story is repeated every day. People have sexual urges, deviances, preferences etc. for a whole range of factors that Ronda and Hugo have pointed out; social, environmental, genetic [plural not ONE], familial. What pisses me off in the Gay debate is that homosexual marriage alters entirely society; family; church vs. state and rights vs parliament. This is nonsense - all based on 'genetics' -- never proven. Minority rights FORCED on us, by a group of deviants. Nice. Can't wait to see what their children will be like.
