Terminator As Governor/saviour ?
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The US is giving a grant - should i define what that means - of $21 billion to Iraq. Only the Dumbocruds don't understand why. Let us explain; this grant allows Iraq to rebuild its infrastructure and allows the US to go to France and Russia and armtwist them to forget the debts owed by Iraq. Suddenly Iraq is debt free and can use the Oil to rebuild its economy. A stronger Iraq is central to the war on terror. Or is that too logical for you ?? -
Us Managed Trade - Not A Good Idea
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in The Rest of the World
What is your point exactly ? I stated that managed trade is bad and hurts the domestic US economy. You come up with some wild idea that China 'must be punished'. Why ? I have already listed many reasons why this argument is false, and you have refuted none. This is endemic on this site - either people don't read or don't understand or blather without topic knowledge. Deflation ? Does not exist. The Fed Reserve already discounted that. They were trying to talk up the bond market. A move that failed by the way and destabilised the markets. Inflation is running at about 1.5-2.0 % per year - T Bills rates are going up to about 5 % to reflect this plus higher corporate profits are built into the 10 yr rates. The rate curves are classic economic recovery curves. You mention both deflation and inflation existing so either you are confused or maybe you mean that in reality some sectors go up in price some down. This is the right view but overall due to energy prices and other goods, inflation is about 1.5%. There is however 0 correlation between the Deficit and the dollar's value regardless of what Bergsten a liberal economist might think. The US ran trade deficits in the recent past as the $ went up. Other factors affect the $ value not deficits, though traders will take deficits into consideration in currency exchanges. However deficits by themselves do not have a large impact on $ value. The trade deficit by itself does not drive the economy. 75 % of US economic activity is domestic and domestic only. As i stated before FATS are not in the trade numbers and re-exports are not discounted. 50 % of China's exports are from Western countries. MNCs account for much of world trade and deficits per se are meaningless measurements. China is being bashed for domestic special interests and voter nationalism. That is all. I don't think you understand economics to be frank, plus like many others here you don't read the posts. -

Hugo, come on, better to wait for da proof of da proof of da proof after a few thousand jews or Americans are dead from a chemical attack. Then we can spend years identifying root causes. Didn't something called 9-11 happen ? Geez that was so long ago............

Bush's Address To The Un General Assembly
Craig Read replied to tec21's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Say what ? How many nations depend on US foreign aid to survive ?- let me count a few of them; Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, South Korea, Burma, sundry states in Latin America and so on. What do they receive for this largesse of trying to send money and aid regimes that deem are friendly to their own interests [as if Canada does or would do anything different] - a hostile media, student demonstrations and Canadian hostility [ok so the last one is unimportant]. As well the UNO exists solely due to US backing. It was Roosevelt after all, in spite of Churchill's reservations, that forced through the UN concept which was a design in his brain, during the Atlantic Charter draft, if not before. I guess you are just a good old fashioned racist with penis envy. -
Terminator As Governor/saviour ?
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
On to more intelligent points. Here is a synopsis of Arnie's ideas at this time [WSJ Sept 30th] -Indian casino's pay higher tax -Would not allow any more general tax increases -Constitutional cap on spending -Independent audit and review of wasteful programs and then implement spending cuts -No driver's licenses for illegals -Supports Cali laws on greenhouse gas emissions All sensible, albeit hardly revolutionary. Middle of the road I would say. Especially the last point - considering Global Warming is unscientific i fail to see how this idea helps Cali. But in any event, he is a far better choice than the Dumbocruds. -
Terminator As Governor/saviour ?
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
What are blabbering about ? A process called Impeachment removes the President - see your hero Clinton for details. As for the rest of your rabble, here are a few facts. According to household surveys non farm payrolls are up 1.2 million. Productivity is up 3.3 %. Profits up 5 %. GDP growth at 3.5 %. Dividend tax cuts have stimulated investment and the stock market. The deficit will be covered with increased revenues. What they need to do is to hammer spending - reduce all these idiotic liberal programs that cater to various interests and stop the Hitlery Drug plan spend. California has none of the above listed positives. Not a One. So what is your point other than to point out that you don't have one. -
That is right guys. He is suppose to support the STATE. He is a SERVANT not a tyrant. When you break the law, befoul your office, engage in unethical behaviour and perjure yourself, you MUST resign. Any right or reasonably responsible man would have resigned. The fact that he lied, defended himself with publicly paid taxpayer lawyers, and refused for the longest time to admit his deeds illustrates that the man is a liar, a thief of public trust and the worst President since Jimmy Carter.

I agree friend. Eve's in particular does NOT deserve to be re-elected. I don't think Howdy Doody McGuinty can run a flower stall, but given that Eves did NOTHING during his reign he should retire, and let Flaherty run the party. Flaherty was right on, when he called Eves a Pink Tory. Pink is no doubt Uncle Ernie's favorite color. When he retires, lets hope he takes the cookie crew - Ecker and Eliz Dimwit, both of the larger than life girth and crocodile tears of compassion.

Locke and Ned, many papers and books have been written about UN reform. A very good read is from McMaster Univ. by Culpeper. You can find this on line. UN reform is so glaringly obvious that only the most ardent Marxist or nescient utopian believes that the current structure is financially, economically and morally useful. Frankly, the UN has devolved into a racist anti-Western, anti-Jew fraternity bent on job hiring minorities and expanding its purview to every facet of modern life. Witness Kyoto. Either it reforms itself or it will become irrelevant. Only someone as marginally tuned in to reality as Chevy Nova, would disagree with that.

Terminator As Governor/saviour ?

Good to see Arnie finally leading in the Polls. 15 points is a good cushion. He needs to convince McClintock to move his support over. Once this happens, Davis is fried and finished. God Bless Total Recall. -
Springer, - good post and right on. Harper is about 10x smarter and better informed than MacKay. MacKay and the Red Tories are a sham.

The Russian duma [elected chamber] has rejected Kyoto. YES ! The Russians were not concerned about the environmental aspects of the accord just the $ attached to it. The EU responsed typically when the French Minister for the Environment threatened Russia with retaliation. What an idiot but what do you expect from the French. I watched RDI's story on this - they showed a smoggy Moscow and asked how the Russians could not ratify Kyoto ? Great - smog particulates have NOTHING to do with Kyoto. Boneheads. It is about CO2 and Methane emissions and temperature change not local smog, or pollution emissions. I wish the CBC would understand some facts before they report.

That is true, Islam believes that it is the inheritor of previoius prophets and ideals. It is therefore superior or more advanced than the Hebrew or Christian church. Jesus was recognised as a prophet but not quite the equal of Mohammad. This is very basic knowledge that people who discuss Islam should have before getting into a discourse.

Nova you are an idiot. Answer Locke's post, not with your typical drivel but with something intelligent. Ok ok i know you can't add anything intelligent but TRY. If you can't get lost. The UNO suffers from a myriad of problems - overlapping agencies, 50.000 staff, too many offices [which receiving countries pay for], IMF and World Bank fiascos, corruption in the Security Council, the rape of Iraq during the 1990s [made a nice $21 billion of off Hussein], Jamborees that denounce Israel [another anti-Jew statement was issued last week], Anti-Americanism [though the US pays the bills], and the support of 3rd world despots and tyrants. Care to elaborate on WHY the UN is so useful ? I did not even mention idiotic ideas like Global Cooling or Warming or whatever it is today.

Us Managed Trade - Not A Good Idea
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in The Rest of the World
RB, you truly have no idea what you are talking about. Fixing your currency is good policy, especially for developing countries and contravenes no trade rules. What are you talking about ? The WTO has nothing to do with currency controls. Flexible exchange rates fail - er you live in Canada which has seen its 'flexible' exchange rate turn into a depreciating currency. Or did you forget ? I know living in the greatest socialist experiment sometimes dulls your vision of reality. NOT one example exists of a flexible currency regime that has worked not ONE. The Bretton Woods system collapsed in 1971 and during the 70s and early 80s we had hyperinflation, wage and price controls, beggar thy neighbour trade policies and major currency swings. The 1985 Plaza accord was put into place to stablise this chaotic environment. Any country that does not tie its currency to either the U$ or Gold experiences huge economic dislocations. Look at Canada - for jobs it relies on the cheap dollar which is another TAX on consumers and a sop to special export interests. Currencies are stores of value, affected by trade, FDI, investment flows and currency speculation. The C$ is not highly regarded but the U$ is for sound reasons. China is RIGHT to fix its currency to stabilise its monetary policy. What it needs to do is to remove capital controls which is another matter entirely. No the US policy is wrong and stop making up stories on unfair trading practices. Currency relationships do not fall under the WTO. -
Affirmative Discrimination and Racism
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Right on Boyd. Equality before the law which gives rise to equality of chance and opportunity. Like I stated before i have not seen any convincing evidence of all this discrimination, White-Jew control of all levels of society and their incipient hatred of color, diversity and race. Every time i read the paper i discover more women and people of race doing better, going higher, contributing more. Where is all this discrimination and women beating ? -
Liberal Judges Save Davis - For Now
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Arnold is the best chance. McClintock should throw in the towel and join Arnold and steer him to conservative policies. If he doesn't he will do his party and his state a disservice by splitting the Rep vote and allowing the Dumbcruds to crawl over the dying corpse and pick and suck the carcass clean. -
Us Managed Trade - Not A Good Idea
Craig Read replied to Craig Read's topic in The Rest of the World
Look it, you don't read the posts or want to understand them. Japan and China are not hurting the US trade balance. For god's sake 1/2 of Chinese exports are US and Western owned firms re-exporting back to the West. Trade balances also don't show FATS [trade in services] so the trade deficit is meaningless. In any event so what if we buy cheap oranges from Cali instead of growing them in Manitoba is that bad ? Of course not. Ditto for cheap plastic toys made in China. Managed trade is made to gain votes and public approval. By printing inflation, disrupting Chinese and Japanese economic growth which will reduce imports and by engaging in xenophic behaviour, the US is hurting not helping its self interest. All to buy some votes. -
Why don't you read the posts and threads. It will take many months to find 10 large holes. David Kay has already publicly stated that he has a lot of information on WMD, the programs and even according to some sources some evidence already of WMD. WMD caches will be found. The more important point is pre-emption. To wait until such chemicals are launched is improvidential. The Middle East map must be remade and Iraq is the perfect place to start it. WMD was only one reason of many. It is only on CNN and in the Liberal press that WMD is portrayed as the ONLY reason to go to war. Many reasons were listed and this site has threads dealing with them. So give it up. Open and shut. Next issue please.

Prove it. 35 nations are free due to US efforts. The US underwrites the global community receiving benefits but putting up with the free rider problem as well. Without US economic leadership multi-lateral trade and the WTO would not exist, and without NAFTA or the reduction in world wide tariffs Canada would be a far poorer little land. The US shielded the free world from Communism, saved Europe from Hitlerism, and now is waging a war on IslamoFascism. Without the US the war on terror would not be a war but a series of savage attacks on Western targets while the Canadians and EU watch stupefied asking about 'root causes'. And the UNO your merry World Government would not exist due to a lack of money and support. The US not only pays most of the UN's bills [25 %] but also pays the great majority of indirect costs in peacekeeping, additional [non-budgeted] programs and human relief. I don't see the EU giving Africa $15 billion to fight aids. So what is your point, other than the fact that you are proving again, that you have no idea what you are talking about and just like to engage in RACISM. US policy can be criticised [especially on international economics, which i have posted on another thread] but your racist drivel must end.

Did you 2 clowns read anything on the post ? If not get lost. 9-11 did CHANGE the World. In case you did not know there is a struggle going on in the world at large. What the post states is that 9-11 could very well have been prevented. This is why it is relevant and your assinine drivel irrelevant.

Merger Proposal Expected Today
Craig Read replied to westcoast99's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is dead. MacKay has proven his worthlessness. He is not a leader just an empty suit. If he really wanted to merge he would have found middle ground on the election of leader and the other issues that were troubling poor Peter and the Red Tories. I think Peter and friends just enjoy being the rump leadership of a left wing party and don't want to share the sandbox or their toys. -
Here Is The 14 Point Proposal
Craig Read replied to theWatcher's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
CPAC and the Tories are blaming the 14 point proposal for scuttling the talks. How farcical. Original deadline for the 'emissaries' was labor day. When that failed Harper used the 14 points to reopen discussions. These talks failed due to MacKay's lack of leadership. Just another empty head and empty suit. -
Edward Said, a Muslim apologist finally died. Good. He gave vent and philosophical comfort to the failure of Islam and Muslim society. In a weak moment however, he admitted that Islam was a failure. In 1998, he accused the Arab world of hypocrisy for defending a Holocaust denier on grounds of free speech. After all, free speech "scarcely exists in our own societies." The history of the modern Arab world was one of "political failures," "human rights abuses," "stunning military incompetences," "decreasing production, [and] the fact that alone of all modern peoples, we have receded in democratic and technological and scientific development." [sce WSJ Sept 28 2003] The racist knew he was wrong. His legacy is pernicious - and is now largely supported by Western Liberals and elites - in their root cause search for meaning and Islamic rage. The root cause is simple - Islam has failed.
