  1. Exactly. Radical Islam is a death cult. The fact that people try to compare a metastisizing, ultra violent death cult with a few milk-toast evangelicals is good for a laugh. Moral relativism. pfft!
  2. So what. We fought on the same side as the USSR for a while too. Politics and war make strange bedfellows. I always get a kick out of it when people talk about the fact that Saddam used to be the US's sonofabitch for a while. The whole point of the Iraq war is to kill the sonofabitch system anyway.
  3. Gee, the "impulsive knee jerk comment" is rich given that when only reagan and the commies had nukes, left wing liberals were all running around screaming armageddon and making movies like "the day after". Of course, now that muslims like Ahmedinijed have them, we're all cool and grown up about the "complexities" Give me a fucking break.
  4. Why are western liberals so quick to assume that everyone is like them? ie. a pantywaiste self-loathing apologizer who won't fight for a damn thing? Iran has always talked the talk AND walked the walk. I take them at their word. Why wouldn't we?
  5. Yea. A nation basically floating on oil and a publically stated goal of nuclear annihaliation needs nuke power for ENERGY. What a joke.
  6. Yep! Read Naomi Klein's new book: The Rise of Disaster Socialism!
  7. Since when was it illegal in a democratic western country to make anti-religious statements? Apparently some Dutch dude is going to trial for making "anti Islamic" statements. Wow. Didn't that kind of charge used to only exist in places like saudi arabia? God bless multiculturalism, I guess. Canada, examine europe's multi culti woes. For there lies your future.
  8. How about HOPING for some CHANGE to pay for it? Oh wait... there's only one person alive who can pay for things with HOPE and CHANGE. Maybe we can all HOPE for CHANGE or CHANGE what we're HOPING for. Or maybe the HOPE of CHANGE can CHANGE the power grid in alaska and there will be a HOPE of CHANGE. Then again, maybe it's all just some guy who's really good at saying NOTHING. what were we talking about? oh yea. real policy. sorry, I was HOPING someone would CHANGE the topic so I could talk some more about HOPE and CHANGE. Got it? mwaaa.
  9. He (you) can't have it both ways. He's either a Candian citizen demanding his rights as a Canadian - who killed a fellow Canadian. OR He's an afghan enemy combattant who tried to kill a Canadian soldier. So he's either guilty of murder or treason. Take your pick. Either way he should be in jail or deported to barbaristan. It's sickening that these assholes (Arar and Khadr) can be members of enemy organizations directl;y agressive toward our country and yet still we bend over backwards to accomodate them. Arar's got 10.5 million of our tax dollars in his jeans and a few months later it's revealed that he actually was a terrorist after all. Un feaking believable.
  10. Khadr is a terrorist. To me he has no nationality - other than treasonous pig using Canada's soft underbelly to cowardly weasel out of his deserved fate.
  11. It's obvious Israel is on it's own in facing the entire world's double standard as it applies to palesitians' consistent acts of war on Israel. Then Israel finally retaliates and the palistinians cry us a river. pullleeeeeease. The animals in gaza and the rest of the middle east are lucky israel has some restraint. After all, we all know that if this truly was a war and not a mild retaliation, then Israel woud have nuked the bastards.
  12. Why can't Iran have a nuke? This is the "discussion"? Gee. 20 years ago when only "crazies" like Reagan had nukes, then the left was all hot and bothered by it, making movies like "the day after" etc. But of course, in the new age progressive world, now that prefectly sane (sic) countries like Iran or North korea want 'em, we're all cool with it, is that how it goes? Sickening. Threads like this don't deserve a reply.
  13. See this (above) is the crux of it, while most people don't realize it. If anything, Israel is showing restraint in it's retaliation. This is a country that is surrounded on all sides by people who want to destroy it, and to kill everyone inside of it. None of these supposed "hamas" apologists suchy as drea have ever had to live life like that. For them, the palestinian / Israeli dispute is just another excuse for cultural self-flagellation at granola left wing Phd. cocktail parties. But for Israel, the threat of death and destruction is real everyday because of the animals that live on all sides of them. So again I state: Israel is showing restraint. Let's face it: if this was a true war between opposing sides, it would have been over a long time ago. The only reason Hamas lives to fight another day is because Israel allows it to. I'd much rather see Israel continue it's bombing campaigns. And what a joke it is for the cowards in Hamas and palestine to complain about childeren and civilians dying when they themselves are bringing it on by hiding behind childeren in the first place. Meanwhile the apologists like drea would allow Hamas to hide their arms, launch their rockets from schoolgrounds while Israel is expected to fight with one hand tied behind it's back? Hilariously hilarious. If the cowards in Hamas choose to hide in schools and civilians areas surrounded by childeren, then the consequences will be fatal for those childeren. Let the war continue. Israel should march right on through into Jordan and meet the US troops half way. Then we'll see how many rockets make their way from Iran to Gaza. Bush finally shattered the illusion of peace that was willfully upheld by palestinians, Iranians, Syrians and Jordanians who would see Israel destroyed by the silent and ongoing rocketfire. Now it's up to Israel and Obama to finish it. Let 'er rip boys!
  14. I think I speak for everyone on the west coast trudging through 3 feet of snow. And for the prairie residents enduring -25C - and -30C about a week ago. And for the bitterly cold northeast, when I say: "More CO2 please".
  15. So now we're in such an orwellian mindset that pointing out FACTS is discriminatory?sheesh.
  16. The idea of "multi culturalism" as it were, supports the separation of cultures to some degree, and encourages cultures to flourish as they are inside Canada. Isn't this a problem if a culture / religion carries with it many values that don't coincide with Canadian calues? MH, as I have stated previously, the issue here is about posture and dialogue. One internation observer once wrote "Canada is the world's largest hotel". Is that what we want to be? To be a husk of a nation, a shell, into which other cultures can come and "set up shop" to practise as THEY see fit? OR do we have an overriding set of values. If we do, then how we address cultural conflict is important. If we address it through acqueiscance - ie "don't bother them, never criticize another culture or religion...it's intolerance and racist", then the stronger, confident cultures such as Islam will steamroll over us given enough time. This isn't about dividing religions or cultures into "bad" or "good" camps. But part of our society, arguably the greatest and most important part, is that we debate and talk openly about issues, even difficult ones. We self criticize. And if a new culture or religion is to be a fully functuning member of that society, to be truly equal, than they too must be a part of that self criticism. In fact, to coddle a new religion and refuse to speak out about things in their religion or culture that don't coicie with our values - to stay silent - is to exclude that culture from one of the most important aspects of what it is to be Canadian.
  17. I absolutely do. That would be a good point if our leaders weren't rushing to visit a mosque and apologize whenever a muslim killed a bunch of innocents. Your point has merit, but in the context of our weakness, their still strong. I guess time will tell. However the early indications in the seething riotous suburbs of Paris and the gay bashing streets of Brussels aren't encouraging
  18. I see nothing wrong with pointing out cretain aspects of a fauth or a culture's behaviors that are objectively bad. Opression of women is objectively bad. Bashing gays is objectively bad. If someone wants to point out things that other religions have done wrong in the past, that's fine. It doesn't make what's going on today around the world with muslim extremists any better does it? This is a current issue. And as far as "inherent dislike"- I'd say if you're trying to pin my refusal to accept mysoginy or barbarism as "inherent dislike" - than I guess I'm guilty as charged. I think this is a dialogue worth having. And really, what's more preposterous? A guy who wants to talk about the common thread across countless attacks against innocents around the world? or a guy who doesn't?
  19. Michael, it's about posture. If a strong, confident, empowered culture thinks that it is objectively better than ours, and we cower in the corner apologizing and accomodating, then that strong confident culture will gradually gain control and dictate the terms. As for your comment that Islam will intergrate the same as all the others, I have cited many european experiences because europe is further down the road than we are and happy to post more if you wish, clearly demonstrating that in fact Islam has not been integrating well at all. As a euro-elite politician said not so long ago - europe is have a great deal of difficulty "adjusting to it's large and growing muslim population". Isn't that a strange posture to take? Shouldn't the Muslim population be "adjusting" to europe, and not the other way around?
  20. I say let em die a natural death. Any company who pays a guy that kind of cake to snap a dashboard into place deserves to fail. Ontario's entire manufacturing economy is built up around the concept of paying people way more than they're worth because unions create false price mechanisms. What you end up with is a bloated unprofitable company and a bunch of ingrate blue collars who should get an education and enter the real world where wages are determined by the market. Let 'em all go into bankrupcty, move their plants to mississippi or other "right to work" states and start over as lean mean profit machines. No subsidizing failure!
  21. It's not me pitting, MH. I wouldn't be able to rant on endlessly about religions being pitted against eachother if those in sa certain faith didn't keep giving me so much material to work with. Got Mumbai?
  22. What is wrong with pointing out the truth - that there is a conflict in basic values between Islam and the "west" - and that this conflict will grow over time. "Ultra tolerance" is tolerance at all costs. Canadians, Europeans, and the US to a lesser degree, are so very proud of our"tolerant" multicultural societies. And generally there is lots to be proud of. Multiculturalism means more restaurant and entertainment variety. But when people in a society become so obsessed with being tolerant - and wear it like a kid at school with a track meet ribbon "yay look at me how tolerant I am of everybody" - without even stopping to think about what exactly you're being tolerant of - then it becomes mindless ultra tolerance. I am proposing dialogue. We need to be able to talk openly about these things - about what we will and will not tolerate as a society. That'swhat free societies do. They don't shut down debate with cries of racism. That's lazy. Not every issue involving a minority is the civil rights movement. This isn't about a hard-done-by minority enslaved and oppressed. It's something different. It's about and extremely confident and empowered minority with some very different beliefs. People need to realize that.
  23. How about something at least within the last century? I'd say decade but that's gonna be tough for you.
