  1. So, who gets to chair the, everyone who doesnt abide by the strict tenants of progessivism is a racist committee? Ok, the name is a work in progress. But for some here any disagreement on a hot button topic that progs cant defend will sooner or later get someone called a racist. No doubt that can be found in some "textbook", who gets to approve which one we use? i bet i can guess.
  2. Worked well in the UK, or not.
  3. "There is a price for governing from on high, for being detached from voters’ expressed concerns and anxieties, and for characterizing those concerns and anxieties always as small-minded, or proceeding only from anti-liberal biases, or xenophobia and racism." Rex has a point. Brexit was such a dumb financial move that I admit I didn't take it seriously. Never underestimate the power of stupid in large groups - George Carlin.

  4. Brexit debate may be an example of when 'good' side leaves no room in any argument for the 'bad' side, people voted for what is probably the wrong thing because otherwise they arent allowed a voice.

Ill just assume that's nonsense, but thanks.

  5. So i can invest my own money, take it when i need it, or, invest with the government and hope i live long enough to get what they owe me a little at a time, and what is it called when the government takes your money and you don't get it back...a tax. Many, many Canadians are taxed in this way.
  6. Some of you have a staggering ability to miss an obvious point, or ignore it and infer the person making it is a racist, it's how things are done now.
  7. http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/andrew-coyne-employees-and-employers-alike-may-live-to-regret-historic-cpp-agreement Hey look, sensible, non liberal partisan arguments, supported by actual facts.
  8. Liberals know best, might as well outlaw all private plans and retirement savings, allow the government to ensure we all have an equally good retirement, surely no one should be forced to endure the outcome of their bad decisions. The idea that most didn't have enough for retirement, or that CPP was going broke, is a myth, this whole thing is just another example of the back door socialism that the left craves for, might as well go all the way. O but I know, the Fraser institute, and others, who have said as much aren't as credible as Kathleen Wynne and Smallc.
  9. I don't care what you're in favor of liberal, im in favor of what doesn't cost me more now and doesn't hurt me later, if im spending more money and not seeing a return on it later it is in fact a tax, a back door wealth redistribution scheme, which allegedly, and to all its supporters, it isn't. But I haven't seen that proven yet, and yes, the vast majority think this is free money, and if some of us pay more than we will get back, it will in fact be that. If im going to see the same relative benefit as those making say 50k, i have no problem with it, otherwise its my money that I could have used to invest in my future, or say help put my kids through school, but what do you care about what it costs anyway, you have already claimed that all of this new government spending will be good for you, you're already enjoying the fruits of my labor, have some more liberal, have some more.
  10. So the polls indicate that a large number of people want what they mistakenly believe is free money? Well you don't say... Im still a long way from retirement, but as far as i can tell when these changes fully mature its going to cost me maybe $1500/yr, and having a company pension plan, i don't think im going to see much of it when i do reach retirement, I honestly dont really know how all of it works out in the end, but my company pension is reduced by the cpp, so if that's the case, is it just another tax on me for the benefit of people who think my money should be theirs? I honestly don't know, but it wouldn't be much of a surprise if it was.
  11. I suppose the ignorant would believe ignorance is a virtue.
  12. I wasnt making one that required or requested a response from you.
  13. You are wrong , except your admssion of knowing little about firearms, not that it ever stops those who don't from sharing an uninformed opinion. It's a semi automatic rifle. Pull the trigger, it fires, pull it again, it fires again, etc, til empty It's available in Canada It's no more or less dangerous than an other semi automatic rifle There are many for sale in Canada that require nothing more than the basic firearms safety course The most infamous of which is the Ruger Mini 14, fires exactly the same bullet as the AR variants, at exactly the same rate, and was used to kill 14 women in Quebec 20 years ago, you might remember it. I can buy a Ruger Mini 14 and have it delivered to my house, as can anyone with the basic firearms safety course, its unrestricted. There are many other rifles just like it for sale in Canada, some more powerful, hunting rifles, easily purchased, completely legal, unrestricted. They are all restricted to five round magazines, thats the difference here, though that isn't impossible to overcome, nor is changing a magazine diffcult, it is better. The only reason the AR15 is restricted in Canada is to buy votes from people who know nothing about firearms, other than which ones look the most scary, becuase you know, how it looks is much more important than how it functions. People exactly like you.
  14. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/obama-administration-reverses-course-releases-full-transcript-of-orlando-shooters-911-call/ But the gun made him do it, and he's not a terrorist. "The full transcript of the 911 call is below: (OD) Orlando Police Dispatcher (OM) Omar Mateen OD: Emergency 911, this is being recorded. OM: In the name of God the Merciful, the beneficent [Arabic] OD: What? OM: Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God [Arabic]. I wanna let you know, I'm in Orlando and I did the shootings. OD: What's your name? OM: My name is I pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State. OD: Ok, What's your name? OM: I pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi may God protect him [Arabic], on behalf of the Islamic State. OD: Alright, where are you at? OM: In Orlando. OD: Where in Orlando? [End of call.]
  15. Your post will start making sense when dozens, and hundreds, and thousands of the Britain first group murder people.
  16. There is no point in engaging in this discussion, the entire thread is just another troll/deflection post, the op knows very well what the differences are, but for some reason is compelled to play this little game over and over. For some other reason it is being allowed, over and over, it seems that terrorism, or mass murders committed by a group of people sharing similar beliefs, or who affiliate themselves with self affirmed terrorist groups simply cannot actually be called terrorism because other people sometimes kill people. No intelligent person actually believes that, but they are willing to pretend to believe it to deflect away from reality and use the people who are dumb enough to believe it to further that goal. How many posts did the op make on the Orlando shooting thread...as many as you would expect, suddenly one man shoots a British politician and now he has concerns! Perhaps everyone already realizes this and is just having some fun. Personally I think allowing this obvious nonsense in a place where organic thread drift gets threads locked is pretty damn stupid. Anyway, watch out for Israel, and the huge numbers of right wing terrorists in the UK, they may have literally killed one person and bothered some immigrants. More than one hundred injured, half of them fatally, homophobia, mental illness, the gun made him do it, etc. Or, you ignore it all together and start this thread.
  17. So, there is a long history of anti gay bigotry, and there have been 'assault' rifles for a long time, i guess it must be just an unlucky coincidence that the first time anything like this has happened it happened to be a Muslim who was interested in ISIS who did it, purple, must be purple, the sky i mean. Anyway was it select fire, fully auto btw? if it wasn't it isnt an assault rifle, i know most of you don't care about that, your too busy feeding the rhetoric machine.
  18. You must be able to see your own tonsils by now
  19. Nope, nobody was thinking that because it would stupid to compare mistakes, or collateral damage during a war to this. Amazingly, disgustingly stupid. O course we could for good measure throw in every terrorist attract, tally it all up, and see what we get, but that would just reduce us to your level of silly bugger, arguing with a propagandist just isn't worth the trouble, we already know you're wrong, you either never will, or don't care.

  21. Again, you're conversing with people who arent firing on all cylinders. Its just that simple, only a fool can ignore this much of the obvious.
  22. Dont bother, its an ilness, it seemingly cant be helped. Its the worse mass shooting, the worst ever attack on homosexuals, by a devout muslim, apparently devoted to isis, but they still have to deflect. Its disgusting, but a symptom of an illness, its not really their fault.
