  1. Millions? Might want to research that... Millions understand and speak flemish, maybe he should speak that? Your making whitey anglophones look stupid. There are a whole lot more than "millions" speaking "Chinese" and "East Indian" ... Still makes no sense he address the French population in English, it's not even an official language of the country. What a waste of time.
  2. We could cut carbon emissions in half tomorrow if we just stopped shipping stuff and people round and round the planet, reducing carbon producing energy just to replace it with another form of heat will not fix global warming. Replacing petroleum with nuclear energy has a whole bunch of issues that also need to be addressed. Handling, storage and disposal of the fuel and waste are a couple of very important ones. Also, is water vapor considered a greenhouse gas? There is allot of evaporation from these plants.
  3. So "in French" in France? Well the nerve >:( Quebecers should be outraged!!!
  4. I don't think Harper ever became fluent in French did he? Leaders visit countries all over the world that don't speak their language, that's what translators are for.
  5. Angiophone wimps and cowards??? Being slapped by a pretty French maiden would be kind of a turn on actually Personally I don't lose sleep over the fact the cereal box has French as well as English written on it. With an attitude like you display on here I can understand the French people's problem with you...
  6. He could speak Klingon for all I care, if it's significant for anglophones somebody can translate it to English. Actually it would be a waste of time to address people of a nation in a language hardly anybody speaks as well as their native tongue.
  7. They "think" is going to cause. Remember all these world ending prophecies is based on theories.
  8. Well OftenWrong, we as the Canadian voter voted him into power using what he even admitted was a flawed system. Now he realizes he needs to used the same flawed system to remain in power. We have to figure out a way to get him out. When he was elected I was willing to give him a chance, I'm not happy with the results so it's time to kick him out and move on. He can put being prime minister for one term on his resume, I'm pretty sure he'll be set for life.
  9. Not really, from my vantage point the substance is he's giving the country away. If running around the world and signing all these deals is on the same principles as giving tens of millions to convicted criminals we are in for a whole lot of hurt. So far he's presented himself as a pushover. I couldn't care less about how he embraces foreign diplomats or what language he speaks in another country.
  10. Well, he is going to leave our offspring a project, it should take a few generations to clean up his mess.
  11. I think carbon dioxide is CO2 regardless of the source. Releasing it into the atmosphere the way we are is new.
  12. Does he have anything to say that we want to hear? You could always learn French Apparently he's doing such a fine job haters have to start nitpicking... Speaking French in a French speaking country is outrageous.
  13. Just a side note on the BC coal thing. Isn't a bunch of that owned and operated by the Chinese with Chinese labor? Seems I heard something to that effect awhile back.
  14. You can say that about all forms of advertising, the idea is to get your attention then convince you need that product or service. It's amazing what advertisers are allowed to get away with, one example is those banners that tell you your device is infected, click here to fix, very popular in apps. That's advertising based on false information. Personally I've trained myself to ignore advertising and I think I'm pretty good at it, I use adblock and usually I enlarge the screen so the ads are pushed off the side. If they are too intrusive I move on or delete the app. If I need something I Google it, of course many of the hits are based on paid advertising but in my opinion that's different because then I'm in the market for a particular product or service. If advertising is based on my input then advertisers are always one step behind so they are useless anyway. As far as Facebook (or any social media for that matter) is concerned l never use the like (or whatever other) button, instead I'll leave a comment, or text, email or call the person. I leave as small personal data footprint as possible, my personal information is non of Facebook's business. For politics l visit here and see what the experts have to say , then I Google and try to figure out why politicians say and do what they do, usually give up and move on to something more interesting. I have a short attention span...
  15. Oh well, he can forever be remembered by the golden arches you see in every town and city of this great nation. They are far more noticeable than his likeness on a peice of paper currency anyway. You want to be British? Move to Britain... Remember the lady wearing nothing but the Canadian flag a few years back? Put her picture on the ten dollar bill, that would make it memorable
  16. Wow! People really don't get it, this is crazy. Facebook is a social media platform who's business model is to generate revenue based on information provided by it's users. It's like in a mall where a shop owner is observing people passing by. He notices allot of people are wearing running shoes so he decides to set out a sandwich board advertising running shoes, he observes more customers come in to buy more shoes. He watches more closely and adjusts his advertising and invetory accordingly. As time goes on he begins using cameras to observe people then he thinks to listen also, this provides him with means to target his advertising even more. As time goes on he figures out how to tighten advertising to groups and eventually individuals. This is Facebook's business model, they go to businesses and claim they have a two billion person user base that they know the most intimate of information about. They tell the potential client they pay for advertising only to potential new customers, they can pinpoint advertising that accurately. People, every one of us as users of social media have given up our rights to privacy when we signed the user agreements. This has never been hidden from us and it has absolutely nothing nothing to do with the size of the company and any of that crap. Get it into your head NOTHING IS FREE!!! Facebook does it, Google does it, Twitter does it, YouTube does it, Microsoft does it, Apple does it etc.. Social media is a public gathering place and should be treated as such. Advertising on social media is designed to steer you toward advertisers so they can sell to you, politics will always find loopholes and ways to alter your point of view through social media so don't expect it to go away. You want any degree of privacy use emails and phone calls. Zuckerberg, a person who's figured out how to capitalize on people's need to share their opinions is trying to explain to a group of people who think the population should have more common sense then it has demonstrated over the past few years why his platform may have influenced America's politics. My opinion I think it hasn't, I think people were just sick of the status quo...
  17. First we need to give the Saudi's a 110 billion in arms so they have WMD for sure this time... We are still wiping the egg off our face from Iraq.
  18. Just like nobody was going to start a world war over Germany?
  19. Well maybe before they do that they should review the results of Iraq and other nations they've taken the leaders out in. ISIS gets a foothold in Russia and things could get real interesting, you'll find yourself wishing they had left Putin alone.
  20. Yes, but the cause of the trend is far harder to distinguish. I'm not questioning the fact observations show the surface of the earth is warming. Very good thorough explanation and to be honest that might be part of the cause all right but I still stand behind my previous argument that if human heat output into the lower atmosphere is not curbed global warming will continue on the trend it's on. Eliminating carbon output tomorrow is not going to stop this.
  21. True, only at least up until today they haven't triggered WW3.
  22. No invading countries of leaders you suspect of wrongdoing based on hearsay.
  23. It's not Zuckerberg's fault, Facebook was never meant to be a serious social medium. He's just capitalizing on it. Users are to blame for being so gullible, to be honest I can understand the confusion from the senators/congress people.
  24. Nononono, it was a "precision" strike, nobody was hurt during the implementation of this exercise... Just watch the Whitehouse press release. It's amazing they don't just quit over there, the country is just one big rock pile by now. I can't believe they can't see the more the west gets involved the worse things get. It's like playing Whackamole, you knock one down another pops up, it's hopeless. Of course the US military industry thinks this is great, use up some of that artillery, we'll supply more. My heart goes out to the poor souls that are just trying to stay alive now, what a mess.
