Never claimed I was ok with it. This thread is about the Ontario Liberals and you brought up the Harper scandals. I pointed out that this is Ontario and we are cursed with a government just as corrupt if not more so than the Federal government. I lean toward more so but that is my biased coming out.

This is Ontario, Any election bribe, spending scandal or rights violation that Harper has pulled can be trumped by The Ontario Liberals. Harper is just at the disadvantage that the RCMP is better at investigating compared to the OPP

Business is in English, Our largest trading partner and neighbor speaks English. Canada was part of the British Empire that speaks.....that's right English. Franco-Quececors have instituted the language police. If you were to ask this question to a rational person I think they would agree. The issue is that this would have to be dealt with by governments. Every language group in Quebec would go crazy and protest would start in english speaking people in rural Ontario that might be affected by this.

This would take too much common sense and cause the language gestapo collective heads to explode on both sides of the provincial borders. Quebec would say that English speakers were trying to kill their heritage of losing wars,crying for dollars,etc,etc. While the people in Ontario would just likely ignore it. End of the day nobody of any political stripes will touch this.

Us righties were complaining about it when the liberals screwed up the subway contracts, so we cannot have it both ways. Please do not feel I think Wynne has done a good job with this. Ok but he was saying it on a provincial forum discussing Ontario Politics. Many here complain about Harper while Wynne gets a free pass or defended for much worse (in many cases crimes) while Harper is crucified.

A valid point if you know we were not in a provincial politics forum discussing Ontario politics. That I agree with. I never tried or could defend the 407 disaster. But the Ontario Liberals are making a bigger one. The 407 can be avoided. Hydro one is a necessity for a majority of the province.

Did you notice the quote was about Hydro one and not about the omni-bill itself? So would have it been ok had a NDP made the quote? Honorable Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli was praising this sale so we know you of course will side with him and drink the kool aid.

How is this news? Duffy gets a check to hide his expenses and everybody is all up in arms. Wynne gets her staff to bribe a guy away from running and nothing is said. Harper foolishly spends millions on ads and he is the devil. The Ontario Liberals spend over a billion buying a few seats at Queen's park but that is just the game. It is a huge double standard.

This is not the first time we have discussed the math programs in Canada. Now we are seeing more and more that the basic fundamentals are not being learned by today's students. How is this a surprise? Besides teachers are too busy fighting for raises in Ontario right now to be that concerned. Oh yeah, it is not about money....right...

So you do want an income tax but only for the rich? Define rich? I have seen some pretty strange ideas what rich is to the Liberals and NDP I agree that a consumption tax is a better way to go. Less bureaucracy.

Oh... That is right. Well that makes it alright now. Because all those years ago Mike Harris made a stupid move. That clears up everything the Ontario Liberals do for the next hundred years.

We have actually changed our life style in our house because of the hydro bill. It started as a spite game but now we look for as much as we can for area's too save. We cut cable and home phones now only paying for the internet. We have internet boxes hooked up to our tv's so no need for cable or the taxes on that and we have cell phones. I also paid cash for the boxes so did not pay tax. Use Kijiji for any purchases I can to avoid HST and recycling fee's. Buy gas on the rez for a little cheaper. It is on my way to work and the coffee place is pretty good and tax free. We also only do laundry at night or weekends. I have not figured out how to feed my kids after 7 pm when they have school in the morning so we gave that up but BBQ season is about to start so that will help. I have been nickel and dime for years so now we are looking at ways to avoid it. There is a huge economy boom if you know where to look and with the prices about to go even higher it should have more of a selection.

Most of the rightwingers here I think do not see it as an accomplishment for women but as a human being it is a huge personal achievement for this woman. Could it be that the left is still fighting a battle that the right see's as a human right that should make no difference whether it is a man or woman. Get with the times lefties us right wing,gun toting tax hiding rednecks have evolved past you on this one.
