  1. Harper isn't the Prime Minister, and correct me if I'm wrong, but never spent the holidays on his private Island........ Right, because Trudeau gave Khan cash in exchange for access? Why is Khan's foundation registered to lobby the Prime Minister, and then why did the PMO attempt to keep the details of Trudeau's vacation secret?
  2. Did you read the report? From it, I don't see any evidence of collusion between Putin and Trump, nor any indication that Putin so much favored Trump, but more so disliked Clinton and Obama for past slights and perceived attempts to undermine his own government....likewise, said report didn't give any indication of the actual effectiveness of Putin's influence campaign.......ergo, if said report is Holy Writ, your continued suggestion that Trump is but Putin's puppet in still unsupported. Or Iraqi WMDs? What is interesting, in this report is the differing opinions between the CIA and FBI versus the NSA, with the later not sharing the same level of confidence in said report.......the NSA is more reliant upon actual signals intelligence (ie actual transmitted conversations), versus the CIA/FBI, both more reliant upon human intelligence (ie spies)........Human intelligence, largely in the form of the actual Iraqi Foreign Minister ( Naji Sabri), lubricated by a ~quarter of a million dollars, resulted in the US believing Saddam held hundreds of tons of chemical weapons........ Yay human intelligence!!!!!
  3. I don't recall any Tory and NDP Prime Minister vacationing on the Private Island of a man, that's foundation, that's registered to lobby both the Government and Prime Minister, just received $55 million dollars from the Government....
  4. How did that turn out for them in the end? But of course, Dixiecrats didn't change, the Democratic party did....... So? If you were given a saw and hammer it doesn't make you a carpenter, anymore then someone having a stethoscope and scalpel being a doctor.........as I said, those best positioned to overthrow a government, be they serving or retired military, police and intelligence are predominantly Republican voters......in addition, unlike the previous Civil War, divided by North and South, if one were to divide up Red versus Blue States, one is putting on one side the majority of not only physical military presence, but industrial (including weapons production), energy and food production capacity in largely one camp......... The North won the last civil war because they had vastly more people bearing arms, the capacity to produce said arms and the ability to feed their army......the same can't be said for Blue States today.........the entire thought exercise is laughable really.........As Mao once said: Political power grows out the barrel of a gun The "left" predominantly abhors guns, looks down upon the military and police and has chased most weapons makers out of their States...........and you're suggesting they pick a fight with those that haven't (and voted Trump)?
  5. I doubt my local riding will vote for her either.....with that said, I'd vote for her (and any Tory) during the election....
  6. You understand those best positioned to carry out such a revolt voted for Trump right?
  7. Among the entire agencies? Or just the political heads of the departments?
  8. Sure, but their "talks" over healthcare funding with the Provinces should provide a clue as to the corner they will have painted themselves into and how they will act going forward........raising (corporate? Carbon?) taxes, as the Trump administration slashes them clearly won't have the desired effect on economic investment within Canada.
  9. You didn't answer the question........you pegged yourself as an average income earner that goes on three "fly-away" vacations a year and that's fine (I assume you don't have kids and a mortgage, nor live in a larger city), but I would hazard a guess that average income earning Canadians, with kids and that live in a larger city don't......if someone living in Metro Vancouver or Toronto does manage but one trip (and has kids) its likely on credit. Are you suggesting nobody complained when Harper traveled? Regardless, I'll take your distraction as confirmation that your rant on Harper's numbers of vacations compared to Trudeau as baseless hyperbole. ------------- I'll leave it there, I have no idea what this tangent has to do with this thread.
  10. Right, the next election will be won or lost on the economy.......not being the Liberals on this file is the easy part, being able to deliver an articulate message on how to repair the economy will be the important part....getting bogged down in what will be portrayed as racist proposals will cost them the election.
  11. Based on their own economic numbers, the other ingredients don't mater when the Trudeau Liberals are making a crap-sandwich of the economy.
  12. It doesn't now mater what was done in the past......its the past........what maters is the future, based on this governments numbers, and what will be done in the near present....and that is squarely on this current Government. This government's numbers show a generation of economic decline in terms of growth........what are they going to do to address it? If their plan amounts to your defense of them, "its Harper's fault" and "we've got nothing", we are truly screwed, and by "we" I mean Canadians today in their teens, 20s and 30s.
  13. Exactly, they have been posted numerous times over the years in the various threads........but once more, this was discussed when the Harper Government decided to further life extend them over two years ago.
  14. Ahh no, DND said our current legacy fleet could maintain our current commitments through ~2025 (2030 with greater risk and costs) with the now most recent life extension program, allowing the GoC to select a new fighter in the early 2020s, and allow ~3-4 years transition to a new type......
  15. This Government's own figures (I linked to) that show a decrease in the workforce due largely to the retirement of my generation, a shortfall that won't be solved by current immigration policies.......bringing in more people that will be reliant upon public programs clearly won't reverse this factual pressure......in essence, Trudeau's immigration policies are a politically motivated own-goal that won't help a projected weaker Canadian economy........grandparents and unskilled workers won't address reduced productivity, and will only put more pressure on reduced government revenues.
  16. The report takes into account the far more important decline in workplace population..........Trudeau bringing in unskilled and unable to work immigrants won't address this coming shortfall and the impact that too will have on the economy.
  17. More hyperbole, as there is no evidence of consensus of opinion among the "intelligence community and his own party"..........it has nothing to do with loyalty, but more pragmatism........... As asked pages ago..............why does Putin want a Trump administration? You stated Trump will do Putin's bidding, despite not knowing what that is exactly.......
  18. Define regularly with supporting evidence..........how many vacations did Harper (or Martin, Chretien, etc etc) take within their first ~year as Prime Minister?
  19. I have no problem with vetting and background checks for people entering this country, that only makes sense, but its not an issue that the next election will be won on, and could cost support in key ridings the Tories need to win.
  20. Do you support a family and have a mortgage in a urban center?
  21. Exactly......... I'm not sure, I would assume his advisers with an intelligence background.
  22. Exactly, and the have no plan to balance the books, or actually grow the economy.......its telling their own numbers show on average Canada's economy will grow less then what its done for decades......that should set off alarm bells for people in their 20s and 30s.....its very worrisome for parents that have kids that will have to live through Trudeau's economic Dark Ages.....
  23. What of it? Did Harper vacation every 6 weeks? Exactly.....I don't begrudge him vacations, or the costs of security and government flights, just the amount of vacations in just over one year in office.......with that, we should actually encourage even more time away from Ottawa, less time for him to further screw-up the country.
  24. The Harper government also didn't plan for a $30 billion deficit, a deficit this government has no plan to dig out from........as noted in Argus's link, a recession now could blow the government's debt:GDP projections out of the water........Trudeau's carbon tax will only make our economic prospects even more bleak, namely with a pro-growth Trump administration. The Trudeau government has no plan to right our economy, and its own numbers show it will see less growth for a generation contrasted with decades past.
