  1. Or in the case of this Government, keep proposed figures (Super Hornet & C-295) out of the public eye.........
  2. No, you're the one suggesting the C-295 is the cats ass though........with the Trudeau government's selection, we are not only losing numbers (and tankers), but a far more capable aircraft already making up the majority of the FWSAR fleet.......a case could be made for the C-295 or C-27J as a Buff replacement, but not replacing the Herc..... Moot point, as "flight hours cost" is an average obtained through fleet size and usage.......
  3. First, they no longer fly it (have went back to Hercs), second you're comparing it to both an older, but far more capable aircraft..........the Chinook costs are a red herring, as all helicopters are expensive to operate.
  4. Exactly, 3 of our 4 FWSAR squadrons operated the C-130 for sometime.......the C-130J is both more capable and cheaper to operate then the legacy models. Smallc is citing salesmen from the makers of the other aircraft, though I have no doubt said aircraft are cheaper to purchase and operate then a Herc, the are also far less capable.........hence the Liberals have not only reduced the number of aircraft dedicated to FWSAR, but have also purchased a far less capable aircraft when contrasted with the majority (legacy) Herc fleet we already operate........and far less capable then the latest model Hercs (what we also operate in the transport role) we should have bought.
  5. Or it means: "hold my beer and watch this"..............has the aircraft been certified as such yet, you cite a nearly year old article?
  6. Then why wont Trudeau allow the ethics commissioner to investigate said "dates"?
  7. They very well could..........if the Trump administration does start "making America great again", in some ways at the expense of Canada, I don't know how a government could survive that kind of populist wave.
  8. To the benefit of the Conservatives in British Columbia and Ontario.......the same Conservatives that support pipelines. That makes no sense.......if that were the case, the NDP and Greens would be benefiting..........Trudeau is losing support for a whole host of reasons, including classic Liberal corruption in the form of lobbying dinner dates, full time job losses, the economy, the Ontario Liberal government, electoral reform and his idiotic statements..........and things will only get worse.
  9. Harper never dropped that amount of support inside one month. I agree, that's why I said I'm surprised by the numbers themselves, no gain for the NDP/Greens, Ambrose closing the gap with Trudeau and a loss of support in Ontario.....if true, and we can be certain other polls will be commissioned soon, this is really bad news for this government.
  10. I expected him to drop once the Tories and NDP selected new leaders, then closer to the next election........but a drop of near 10 points in one month, after being in office for only a year, is huge.......The Harper government didn't even drop that much when they lost their majority Government.......and Trudeau has only just started pissing the electorate off.
  11. Sure, but offers far more capability, likewise, operational costs would be mitigated by cutting two aircraft types from the inventory and the reduction in costs found with the C-130J verses older models we currently operate. Who says we will have the C-130H after the C-295 has fully been delivered? From what I understand, the four current squadrons will see the reduced number of C-295 divided up among themselves, who will be flying the legacy Hercs, that themselves are aging rapidly....... The aircraft don't fly and fix themselves...............
  12. You quoted someone from Airbus's marketing department.......that claims their aircraft is better then the competition
  13. Lockheed Martin knew the fix was in and didn't bother wasting their time........and money, as it costs a fortune to for said companies to submit bids.
  14. You've yet to cite such a difference in both purchase and operating costs......do you have a source or are you making up more facts?
  15. Whit what sized load?
  16. No, it means you're countering figures provided by Airbus, on an Airbus website, with figures from "airvectors.net"......
  17. Your links go to the same page........both seeking donations to fund the website, and oddly enough, isn't linked with the builders of the C-27j or the C-295 So anyways, are you suggesting "airvectors.net" knows more about the aircraft then their own builders?
  18. Sure......and Dodge builds great minivans, but it doesn't make a minivan a Sprinter work van
  19. I didn't repeat you, I proved your claim wrong, with figures from both aircraft makers........ C-27J C-295 Stand to be corrected........if somehow you know better than Airbus and Finmeccanica
  20. The Trudeau Liberals like stuff built in their own ridings
  21. Honeymoon over: Not surprised he tanked in BC, but Ontario is surprising........likewise the NDP and Greens did not receive a bounce over the pipelines.......and that Ambrose is on the heels of Trudeau, I don't think its so much Ambrose (though I think she is capable and doing a better job then what most running for the leadership would do), but people are getting fed up with Trudeau....one year in, with a placeholder Opposition............I think if O'Leary runs, Trudeau is toast in 2019......but with the current field, they will need help in the form of more scandals and poor economic performance.
