The RAF didn't "lay-off" pilots or aircrew, force size reductions (budget cuts) within the service made for greener pastures elsewhere (Canada and Australia) for many experienced RAF members, that though not given the boot, would see a diminished career path within a smaller RAF.

Does the CPC's new attack ad violate C-51?
Derek 2.0 replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No it doesn't........likewise, I above told you the Article from within the convention that you're basing your incorrect assumption on........ The section you're basing your laughable premise on would apply, for example, to WW II Allied aircrews shot down and captured by the Italians, but then handed over to the German Luftwaffe.......not political adds in other countries, a country that is one the same side as the captured POWs..... -

Sure, once you quote the passage in the King James Bible that clearly states religion is a fraud -

I, like every other current or former commissioned member that has served in a NATO military has received instruction on the pertinent details of the convention........does that make me an expert? Not at all, but I have a far greater understanding of it than you.........or anyone that would claim the recent CPC add is in direct violation of the convention....... -

Article 3, Article 12, Article 14, Article 57 (for private contractors) are all sections prohibiting the use of POWs in demeaning acts well in their custody of an enemy............since said POWs were never in the custody of the Conservative Party of Canada (or CBC, BBC, CNN, PBS Frontline etc), the convention doesn't apply........ I'm sorry that you fell for a retelling of a claim made by someone on a comments section on the internet.......But I do hope the NDP run with this angle -

No, I'm not going to cut and paste 20+ pages of material to prove that the CPC (or the MSM) is not breaking the Geneva Convention via its political attack adds. -

Dissonance? I'm not the one suggesting the Conservative Party of Canada is breaking the Geneva Convention with its political attack adds -

No.......how about you quote the section that supports your implication of the CPC and its use of political attack adds, resulting in a break of the Geneva Convention. -

Part III, Sections 1-6, articles 12-50 or 60............and yes, it does mater who they belong to........CBS news didn't violate the Geneva Convention for broadcasting staged confessions of US aircrew during Vietnam -

Right, but even this level of tin-foil hattery is not displayed (that often) by the fringes of NDP party.........but their caucus in Parliament is full of such kooks, with an online public footprint (I guess if you're an NDP MP from Quebec or British Columbia, privacy settings on your social media is not progressive and hip), that the Canadian public is going to be introduced to in the coming weeks and months -

The treatment of prisoners of war, namely the sections covering propaganda and making said prisoners open to the public to satisfy curiosity.........since said ISIS captives were not in the custody of the Conservative Party of Canada, the convention doesn't apply. -
Does the CPC's new attack ad violate C-51?
Derek 2.0 replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Do you think those ISIS prisoners are in the custody of the Conservative Party of Canada? If not, then no, they are not in violation of the Geneva Convention, no more so then when the BBC, CBC, CNN etc replay said footage during their newscast........ -
They can't, hence why Elections Canada is currently investigating the PACs, likewise the reason the Tories ran away from the HarperPAC.........why would they want to involve themselves with possible election fraud, before the writ is even dropped.......... I also wouldn't be surprised if further light is shed upon NDP satellite offices and other "irregularities" once the House of Commons administrators start the collection process of $2.7 million in improper NDP expense claims on July 1st......of course the NDP is refusing to pay back the owed money, as a result, legal action will proceed later this Summer

NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Exactly, well said and very apt.........As we saw last year, the NDP, in the basement with the Trudeaumania 2.0 grabbing all the media attention, was forced to release their own policies. Clearly, to date, this slow and steady approach has reaped rewards (in polling) for the media attention......This, as I said last year, has forced the Liberals to release their platform early in an attempt to change the NDP's current momentum................And that leaves us with the Tories, that like in the last several elections, will have months to examine the other parties policies and craft a response, likewise release their own platform after the writ is dropped, with targeted policies, when Canadians are actually paying attention -
NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Liberal war room was caught flat-footed by the NDP surge and their sharp decline in the polls, starting with the NDP releasing portions of their platform last September. As a result, the Liberals have been forced to release their platform, which they didn't intend to do until the writ was dropped, but their panic policy releases over the last several weeks have garnered little to no traction....... As I said last year in response to the NDP policy release: The Liberals have been unable to copy NDP policies to any effect, and their own policies have received little attention or notice......Aside from the eventual CPC advertising blitz, I expect the Liberals to go all in later this Summer..........it is shaping up that have little hope of forming Government, instead, they will be fighting for Official Opposition status.........or total political irrelevance. -
Or better yet, just suppose its in violation of the Federal Fair Elections Act, by not disclosing donors names, which is a legal requirement once the writ is dropped for an election, -or- there are ongoing by-elections (as there are three such right now), and the adds are of a partisan nature........it would be awful if NDP party members and supporters involved in these PACs were charged with election fraud just before the start of the Federal election And people (in the media) wonder why the CPC quickly withdrew support (and threatened legal action) against the HarperPAC that was on its side.....

NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Right, and then will you tell us why before joining the NDP, Mulcair sought a cabinet post with the Conservative Government.......which was ultimately rejected by the Conservative Party of Canada? I'm sure all such (recorded) conversations between Mulcair and the Conservative Party will be quite interesting to gleam, but it would be most surprising if such private talks were made public during a Federal election..... -
NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Clearly, as made evident by the Tories withholding support for HarperPAC, which resulted in the group folding and returning donations.....clearly the Tories know all is lost and don't wish to see donors spending money for naught...........meanwhile, the union funded, shadow NDP backing PACs will be allowed to grow even stronger and set this Fall's narrative, resulting in an NDP super majority!!! -
NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That's great!!!! I truly hope the NDP continue to "poll" well throughout the Summer, as such, the Tories (and Liberals) can start packing their things and making way for the eventual 338 seat NDP majority that is certain to happen this Fall!!! -
NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I have zero problem sleeping ......ask yourself this though, why has the Tory's campaign machine (likewise the Liberals) largely left Mulcair and the NDP alone? Surely if the Conservatives (and Liberals) truly "feared" the NDP, they'd be slinging the mud.......but they're not........the NDP (and yourself) will learn the difference between campaigning to win popularity polls (like Justin did since wining the Liberal leadership) and campaigning to win elections.......... Just in the first quarter of the this year alone the Tories received more donations than the NDP and Liberal combined, but have yet to open the war chest......do you really think the CPC is going to roll over and go quietly? Ask Dion about that, and Dion, though lacking gravitas, was/is squeaky clean..likewise Ignatieff.....Mulcair, we'll wait and see if he has any skeletons in his closet -
NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Has Harper (or Trudeau for that mater) held rallies for his previous campaign in a club owned by a person with alleged involvement in the Mafia? Did Mulcair get any money off him, and if so, was it exchanged in a paper bag or violin case? I guess we know, under an NDP Government, who the proposed infrastructure projects will be awarded to....... As I said several weeks agos, NDP supporters bask in your Broadbent moment in the polls, it will be short lived.....calm before the Storm -

National Socialists? That's absurd, just a chum of Tony Accurso: Mulcair: Just a simple public servant blessed with many friends -
Does the CPC's new attack ad violate C-51?
Derek 2.0 replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Exactly, but it also reopens the discussion on combating radical Islam, something of which many in the NDP feel is the fault of Israel and can be resolved by the World economy no longer needing Middle Eastern oil, as it will be carbon taxed to death and our cars will forever run on recycled hemp and the laughter of children, and by bringing further radical Muslim refugees to Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver........
