NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I never said they could "take it with them".......they would have no need, as there is greater potential in business friendly Saskatchewan, where most of said companies already have footprints..... -
Canadians dismiss the potential of Canada as a Middle Power, let alone a Superpower.........Superpowers, since history back, have held two codependent themes: Economic and Military supremacy over equal and near peer potential foes........ No past Superpowers relied upon other nations for their defense.

NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll

They don't need to, fore many of the same companies involved in the Albertan Tar Sands have been (prior to even the price oil decline) increasing investment in Saskatchewan's tar sands, likewise the Bakken/Williston basin........Alberta isn't the only game in town. And the Saskatchewan Government hasn't been proposing scalping Big Oil.........Cenovus is already Long Gone for Saskatchewan The Alberta NDP is already doing to the Albertan oil & gas industry, what the BC NDP did to our lumber and pulp/paper industries...... -
NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll

Because they (the oil companies) have known the expected tax hikes, likewise an increase to royalties (any amount will decrease profits) was coming since the election campaign started.......as already stated, in a shaky oil market, a further decrease in the profit margins of Albertan oil, which is already expensive to extract/refine when contrasted with other known sources, will hamper the profitability......... I would expect many of the companies in Alberta to shift resources to their other holdings in more business friendly environments......leaving Albertan oil in the ground for the next four years won't hurt larger oil companies bottom lines..........As I said, the current Albertan experiment with socialism will be a known quantity for this Falls election........ -

And in today's EKOS/NDP polling: Furthermore: According to this poll, the NDP are exactly where they started the day after the last election..........and the Tories/Liberals/Media/Business/Economists etc haven't even weighed in yet........as so goes the Prime Minister Mulcair dream And to add: And EKOS polls the Tories low......as I've been saying for weeks/months/years, this Fall's result will be a Tory Majority. -
I don't know of too many married family men with Tinder accounts.........
-
No, Moore's stepping down is due to an alleged "family values" issue........

Exactly, furthermore, there is plenty of refining capacity worldwide, and no economic reason for energy companies to have duplicate operations.... -
A very astute point, as guns don't rob corner stores, nor commit mass shootings. Clearly criminals and the mentally ill do though, hence addressing the social-economic factors that create crime and lack of available mental healthcare services will reduce "gun violence".......and guns revert back to lowly tools and/or benign, inanimate objects....
-
No......"gun control", though ineffective regardless, will be made moot in the years ahead......As "gun nuts" have been saying for years, if you actually want to address the problem, you need "people control", or better put, address the causes of both violence and mental illness.
-
Are drivers of cars or drinkers of alcohol to blame for the near equal annual total of drunk driving deaths?
-
Right, but most mass shootings occur in areas where gun control prevents their legal possession......

No surprise, Justin Trudeau and the Federal Liberals are issuing a warning to Canadians over the Socialist NDP: Of course the NDP believes in centralization Justin.....they're Socialists. Furthermore: Even Trudeau understands the folly with raising corporate taxes.......And of course Mulcair has to pander to his Quebec base, as its comprised of former Bloc supporters........ -

Oil prices have increased nearly $20/bbl since the last forecast, and said new forecast was released after the NDP Government brought forth their new tax on Albertia's largest industry..........NDP tax policy, tax everything, including shaky industries that we don't like........that will solve the tar-sands question.....by turning Fort-Mac into a ghost-town. -
So what would an NDP government do?
Derek 2.0 replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
An NDP corporate tax rate of 18-19% would likely cede the remaining lumber and pulp/paper industry in Canada, namely located in British Columbia, to India....India, the same country that welcomed BC market share in the industries after the working-over the BC NDP Government did to the forestry industry in British Columbia in the 1990s........ -------- Likewise, the apparent confusion from within their own party aside, of a Federal NDP bringing back a form of long gun registry: I'm sure the Federal NDP's firearms policy (Ban all guns!!!!) will be made known in the coming weeks and months to all 2 million+ legal Canadian Firearms owners.........that ought to do wonders for the NDP in rural Ontario and Western Canada........ -

No, I do follow reality, I just provided a news article stating, post Alberta NDP corporate tax increase, the rate of job losses in Alberta will increase despite an increase in the price of oil from several months ago. -

You're not following the news I suppose: Well done Alberta NDP......why wouldn't you bend the oil companies over the barrel with higher taxes and increased royalties in an already shaky oil & gas market environment..........jobless Albertans will surely feature in this Fall's election, likewise socialist tax policy. -

Hewers of wood and fetchers of water will be one of the few forms of employment left in a Socialist Canada.........And you're misunderstanding your own point, corporations process less resources in Canada because it doesn't currently make economic sense to do so.......and your solution, and that of the NDP, is to make Canada less competitive........ -

Derek 2.0 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well no, it doesn't work like that. First Corporate headquarters can be changed by little more than new letterhead, likewise, if an NDP Government makes our resources less attractive, said corporations go elsewhere.........hence why very little coal is mined today in the UK or Steel produced in the United States........or manufacturing is dying in Ontario...... -

No, Corporations that "leave Canada" (on paper) will be leaving little to no fair share in Canada........ -
Clearly, god forbid a white cop, or in this case a white nut shoots some black people, but near daily shootings of blacks, by blacks, doesn't warrant attention nor redress, and is probably our fault

Harper's demise was also a "sure thing" in the months prior to the '08 and '11 Federal elections.......and yet, he kept getting more seats. -

You think that by getting "corporations to pay their fair share", you'll reverse your implication of money being shipped offshore........ -
I think his intent was that most "mass shootings" occur in gun free zones.........
-
Ironically enough, one of the victims of the shooting, State Senator/Pastor Pinckney opposed a Bill several years ago that would have allowed CCW holders to carry inside Church.......... ----- And in other news, several weeks ago on Memorial Day in Chicago, 12 people were shot and killed and another 56 wounded .........based on US crime statistics, the majority of said shootings would have been black males shooting other black males........
