1. Seriously Hal! You cease to amaze me with your posts.
2. It's not inside info. BC is well aware of the incoming refugees and are making plans to welcome them.
3. Vladimir Putin: from pariah to powerbroker in one year: "Second, Obama and Cameron have been forced to accept that Bashar al-Asssad, Syria’s president, may stay in office, possibly for the duration of the proposed 18-month, UN-supervised Syria peace negotiation, as Putin has insisted all along."
4. Looks like that billionaire is still moving forward with his idea of buying an island for the refugees: "The billionaire seems more optimistic about moving forward with the plan to buy an island, according to a Nov. 18 email from Sawiris’ spokesperson. “But due to the delicacy of the issue he has not disclosed specific reasons for his optimism.” "According to the spokesperson, he’s now studying the potential of 17 Greek islands to determine which can accommodate the highest number of refugees and has “highest potential for future use.” "Sawiris is still awaiting Greek government approval to purchase an island, which he said he would name Aylan Island to honor the 3-year old Syrian boy whose drowned body was washed up in a Turkish beach." Sounds like a bizarre plan but hey, it might work.
5. I need to contemplate this.
6. I'm not sure. I just have the balls to question it Why is it wrong? I'm just like the rest of us. I want to defeat ISIS but I don't want to chicken out.
7. Ok so that's my point exactly. No one knows. Wtf are we doing.
8. I'm sorry. Not sure what you are asking?
9. I do love the idea of providing support to factions. And providing humanitarian aid , not just military. We need schools etc. how do we do that?
10. I don't know. I don't have the smarts for that and neither does anyone here.
11. Please. All you have done is point me to an article without providing quotes for your argument. Plenty of arguments exist in that article that confirms we need to do a full frontal assault to protect innocent civilians.
12. I won't quote Hal's post. It's too long and he provides nothing to support his thoughts. Hal, why don't you provide substance with your posts. How can anyone seriously debate them? I guess I should backtrack a bit. We are looking into the future. My apologies.
13. Nothing I have read or heard so far has convinced me to completely disengage.
14. Are you terrified to live there? If so, move. Plenty of white small town communities who would welcome you.
15. This is a problem for the entire world to resolve. It's not all on Obama's shoulders.
16. I don't have a lot of faith in our current world leaders and yet to be determined future world leaders. But we can't give up on putting pressure on them to 'come together and give peace a chance'.
17. Well I hope we make a very strong effort to let in as many as we can.
18. Of course it's stupid. And what are we doing about child trafficking and slave labour? Not a hell of a lot.
19. The world leaders need to get their shit together and we need to put more pressure on them to do so.
20. The problem is public apathy over incidents that happen time and again. We could say the same thing for shooting of innocent children in the u.s. Or sex trafficking of children. Planes blown out of the sky, civilians slaughtered at cafes and concerts are not typical.
21. And that would be your measurement on how much someone cares About murdering innocent people? Interesting thought but really has no substance.
22. And I agree. There was some billionaire that was willing to buy a Greek island and build homes, schools etc. not sure why it didn't gain traction.
23. Anonymous in their zealous endeavours has in the past incorrectly identified individuals as being terrorists. Let's hope they follow a secure set of protocols when identifying terrorists and share that information with the appropriate authorities.
