I think he was referring to state financed and controlled cbc news. We have no such thing here in canada. -

State financed and controlled CBC? Seriously? You have no clue Bush. Can you get real with our broadcasting station. I am so relieved we have the CBC. I know of many canadians living in the u.s. who are so relieved to have access to the CBC for unbiased reporting. Maybe you should tune in to it form time to time. Hmmmmm? You may have an awakening. -
WTF!! Can someone ban this troll?

I wonder if Hillary will have a go at it. She will be in her early 70's by the time her reign would have ended (given 2 successful terms) and I'm not sure that she is willing to give up her prime senior years with the stresses of being the most powerful leader in the world. I think that if she recognizes a younger candidate for the democrats she may just step aside. But if she were to run and if I were American, I would not hesitate to vote for her. After all, when Obama was elected, didn't us canadians ask that the americans send him up north to run our country! -
It would be really sad if Canada got knocked out of the quarter-finals. Come on, are you kidding me? That would be devastating!

We all know what Fox represents and I have tuned in to give it a listen to and I have even listened to u.s.republican radio shows and seriously, I do have a problem with the beliefs they throw out there (from a woman's point of view). It makes me sick to my stomach to listen to how women's issues are being set back in the u.s. as well as in canada. I am very worrisome that the democrats lose the next election and that the PC's in Canada also win the next election. It will be a sad day in North America for women. -

The Truth About Obamacare
WestCoastRunner replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Obamacare is just a forerunner to universal single-payer health insurance. It is only a matter of time. http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/08/10/sen-harry-reid-obamacare-absolutely-a-step-toward-a-single-payer-system/ -
There was a visual protest staged at Vancouver's rainbow crosswalks at Davie and Bute, as a recreation of the Beatles' Abbey Road album cover but with naked men carrying Putin masks. If you scroll down a third of the way of this article, you'll see the pic. It's great! http://www.straight.com/blogra/583201/canadian-cities-fly-pride-flags-lgbt-russians-rob-ford-balks

WestCoastRunner replied to WWWTT's topic in Local Politics in Canada
PIK, you have a very bizarre way of expressing yourself. I still don't understand what it is you are trying to explain. Is it Jews, or Gays, or what?? And what do you support and what do you not support? -

I have watched the Vancouver Pride Parade a few times with well over 600,000 spectators. I have noticed thousands of families with young children also viewing the parade. Yes, there is a lot of nudity from both the men and women participants. I'm not sure that I would have brought young children to watch the parade but that is a parent's choice. I don't think these parades are gross, nor are they sex shows but there certainly is a lot of nudity. -

The Truth About Obamacare
WestCoastRunner replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This article explains it better than Shady's fear mongering. No, CBO did not say Obamacare will kill 2 million jobs“The estimated reduction stems almost entirely from a net decline in the amount of labor that workers choose to supply, rather than from a net drop in businesses’ demand for labor, so it will appear almost entirely as a reduction in labor force participation and in hours worked relative to what would have occurred otherwise rather than as an increase in unemployment (that is, more workers seeking but not finding jobs) or underemployment (such as part-time workers who would prefer to work more hours per week).” -
I love the black. Looks intimidating!

You have no argument from me there.

They are disappearing to silicon valley now. Tech startup Hootsuite wants to hire 100 software engineers this year and it says it will be all but impossible to find them in Canada. The Vancouver company, like other Canadian tech companies, is competing with San Francisco's Silicon Valley which regularly draws software engineers to work at heavyweights Google, Twitter, Facebook, Apple and LinkedIn, and startup firms. Hootsuite will likely have to recruit internationally to add to the ranks of its 80 software engineers, said Ambrosia Humphrey, the company's head of human resources.
