  1. It has to do with the law society of BC. The mandate is to protect the interest of the public and so on and so on. The law society couldn't care less about the religious freedom of some christian universities.
  2. Not sure your point here? So are you saying that a man living with a woman who happens to have children is there just for a free ride or should I say, a free fuck?
  3. A free society means tolerating views that one disagrees with. The court agrees with this view. People who think they have to right to impose their views on everyone else are the real intolerant bigots that threaten our freedom. Do you hear yourself? Read this statement to yourself, over and over and over again.
  4. Of course it is not binding. But it is certainly not silly.
  5. I feel sorry for you because obviously you have been hurt in your past.
  6. When a man and woman get together to form a family relationship with children, there is no thought about being 'stuck' with obligations. It is you that is hung up about greed.
  7. Just because it is a private institution does not give it special privilege with the law society of british columbia.
  8. If a mature man and I am assuming he has his full mental capacities, engages in a relationship with a woman with children and goes on to marry or live with, then I can assume he loves his stepkids as his own. Need I say more???
  9. The argument is with the conduct of the university against the lgbt community. Nothing to do with religious beliefs nor with the graduates.
  10. I am confused. IF a woman did not want her ex step partner to support her financially, why did it end up in court?
  11. That's quite a mouthful and also quite ridiculous.
  12. I have learned to ignore trolls and posters that insult to inflict pain.
  13. This is a BC issue, not an issue related to Ontario.
  14. I see that you are not from BC Moonbox.
  15. A step parent is involved (I would say intimately but BC would twist that into something other than what I meant, imagine if BC weren't around to twist our words) with the parent of the child/children. A sibling/grandparent/nanny is not. A step parent has moved in and taken on responsibility for the child/children. A step parent should not move in if they do not want to incur financial obligations. It's pretty simple to figure out for a potential step parent. And, I would assume that a single female parent would kick this dude to the curb anyway if his primary concern is supporting possible future step children.
  16. And I have no recollection of guns from that area. Good, safe fun!
  17. Sounds very cool! I am originally from southwestern Ontario. Sounds like a lot of fun. Good luck with the event! Many good memories from that area.
  18. BC, tell me how you can possibly add value to this thread? Please, add some valuable substance to this very serious matter in our province.
  19. I don't quite understand BC's weighing in on the teacher/government issues in British Columbia. Tell me I've gone to hell!
  20. Not quite true. This case is about the conduct of the university discriminating against a certain population of canadian society.
  21. It's not all about economic prosperity. It's also about protecting our province. A recent poll found 67 per cent of British Columbians either want the project rejected or delayed for further review. Even in Kitimat, the proposed terminus for the tankers to carry the oil to Asia, there is a groundswell of opposition. A plebiscite there in April saw 58 per cent of residents vote against Enbridge, prompting the town's mayor and council to officially oppose the project. This from the community that probably has the most to gain in terms of jobs and economic benefits.
  22. The Harper govt and Enbridge just can't seem to get it that the majority of British Columbians do not want this pipeline. We cherish our province, our clean ocean, rivers, lakes, great seafood, a healthy tourist industry. Why would we want to threaten all that so we can ship toxic bitumen to the asian markets.
  23. It is possible the Harper government will delay their decision to consult with First Nation communities, according to Grand Chief Stewart Philip. Harper knows if they approve the pipeline, the First Nation Communities will take the government to court and delay the project for years. Let's hope it gets delayed!
