  1. What bothers me a lot and I'm not sure why we can't see members who are private Why is it such a secret to be able to view and contribute to threads but members can't see who they are. Seems highly a pecking order syndrome and provides superiority feelings to certain members. Can someone explain the advantages to this ridiculous perk.
  2. Did I shut you down bc? Have you nothing more to offer on this fb post? You brought it up.I am curious as to your shout out to a male member. What is the significance of that. Please enlighten me. I have no time for hidden messages and American doublespeak I am quite willing to discuss this fb post. Bring it on.
  3. That's a cop out. Provide more substance to your post. You obviously want feedback (Maybe from even female members)
  4. Ok, I can't resist. So, Feminists are superior and therefore are superior to you? Not a hard stretch, to be honest. Let's not forget, women and feminists think with their vaginas.
  5. Care to elaborate? It's hard to debate something so elusive.
  6. Older females? Nice try but not true.
  7. At its core, feminism is the fundamental belief that men and women should have equal opportunities to pursue their dreams.
  8. Neither do I. Nothing wrong with homeopathic medicine. Homeopathy is more than vitamins.
  9. How about more than yesterday or last year or 5 years ago. Does it really matter? Do you want a line carved in the sand?
  10. We can't ignore the benefits of the Internet. Communications and social media with individuals from any locale in this world that supports the Internet. That's one of the biggest benefits. Research by students, professionals and others educates individuals so they are less ignorant Entertainment with games, videos etc and being able to play on a virtual team is a blast. I think these benefits among others negates the opinion that the Internet Is making us stupid.
  11. Why 'now more than ever'? Here are a few more reasons: The recent flood of U.S. state legislation meant to chip away at reproductive rights. See how religious freedoms trumped women's rights when the Supreme Court allowed Hobby Lobby to refuse comprehensive birth control coverage. Peek into corporate boardrooms and notice the dearth of female CEOs. A lifetime of wage discrimination means women and their families also pay a price later when it comes to Social Security benefits. It's 2014 and old white men are still trying to write laws to control women's bodies!
  12. You are right to be cynical about 'girl power' and all that it entailed with celebs, but we do have a new movement growing with current celebs continuing the push for equal rights for women. "Emma Watson made that September speech to the United Nations about feminism and has been watched millions of times. The hack of emails at Sony Pictures revealed pervasive Hollywood gender wage gaps. And then there was Patricia Arquette's recent Oscar acceptance speech for her role as a struggling single mom in "Boyhood." She took to the podium, calling out for equal pay and rights for women in the United States, and inspired a social media frenzy -- not to mention enthusiastic cheers from Meryl Streep. In a backstage interview, Arquette specifically raised the need for the constitutional amendment."
  13. Is that your dig to take glory away from a woman? Would you have said that if a man had won the honour?
  14. It's always great to hear these!! Well done for Canada and women!
  15. We can help move women forward in the labour sector by having men take women under their wing and mentor and groom them just as much as they do with men. It just doesn't happen enough with women. It's easier for a man to groom a man apparently. I will start another thread on women in politics so that can be discussed. It is just as equally important to increase the number of women in politics.
  16. Well, I believe that men's parenting rights are highly eroded. And I get that from my girlfriends male friends and I suspect it is a real problem.
  17. Wonderful. You are a trooper.
  18. I assure you, I am no church lady. I enjoy talking about sex with the appropriate folks.
  19. Maybe you replied because you wanted to make it seem like it was cool, and not a sexist comment. And because you wanted to represent yourself as a cool woman. The fact is, it was a disgraceful comment and you got suckered in.
  20. Perhaps because he asked a female member?
  21. Yes, he was turning this into an adult friend finder. Women should absolutely be free to find their sexuality, not sure why you think women feel repressed? Perhaps you need to educate yourself on women's issues?
  22. It is simply mind boggling that gender issues are now being mixed up with sex topics. Honestly, can the moderators here do a better job?
  23. 'New Feminism'. Please explain this new term to me.
